We usually expect the worst when staying in a Thousand Trails/Encore Park, but Plymouth Rock was just an amazing experience. Our site was large and grassy with shade. There were three pools, two playgrounds, and tons of activities/amenities to choose from. This was the first TT park we have found that the mini golf looked fun and inviting! (instead of the usual d erelict trash heap). What set this park apart was the upkeep and staff. The common areas were immaculate, and we counted 10-15 people actively working to upkeep the park at any given time. All the staff greeted us with a genuine smile, and often with a treat for our dog. All the neighbors, seasonal and overnight, were respectful and kind. Parents actively supervising their kids, definitely a nice surprise. It's just a short drive from here to Sheboygan, which has an incredible waterfront and a very large city dog park. We'd go out of our way to stay at this campground again. **$0 rate reflects Thousand Trails/Trails Collection rate.

Called ahead of time to inform them we would arrive late. No problem, we'll have your packet out front. We arrived after dark and grabbed our packet. No map. So we downloaded the map on our phones from the Thousand Trails website. The roads are narrow and a bit tricky to trailer a 42ft 5th wheel even in daylight so in the dark it was very confusing. Turns are sharp. Trees are obstacles including lower branches. Typically a late check-in has a map with arrows indicating the best route to drive to the site. So it took a bit of running around with flashlights to figure out where our site was and how to get in.We knew we would only have partial hookups (30amp and water, which had good pressure at 60psi) but we received a call a couple weeks ahead of time asking if we wanted to upgrade to 50amp and sewer. We said yes but when they found out we were Thousand Trails members, they changed their minds and said they can't upgrade us.We felt bad that we ended up being assigned a site next to tent campers. Literally dozens of empty sites around us and they stuck us right next to tent campers. We tried to be quiet setting up after dark but tents don't offer a lot of sound barrier. Sorry guys! The campground itself is large but mostly occupied by park models or permanent trailers. Our site was extremely long and sloped grass but easy enough to level. The wind kept knocking small tree branches down on our roof and the branch at the entrance to our site was too low so we had to go around and back in to avoid hitting the branch.

  • Nice location, well-maintained park

There is lake access, 3 pools, playgrounds, mini golf, etc, etc. A majority of the sites are permanent setups (mostly vacation homes) so "overnight" sites might be limited - book early as the summer here is very busy! We requested a 50amp full hook-up site but got a 30amp W/E site. At first we were a little annoyed but it wasn't a big deal since we were only there 3 days. We actually ended up liking our site better than those with 50amp FHU because we were in the trees rather than a big open field. There was a generous amount of space between sites in our area. We spent a lot of time walking & riding our bikes around the grounds and were amazed at how many people were there by the weekend. We learned that it was the weekend of a big Road America race at the track just outside the gates. We loved the surrounding areas - we visited Elkhart Lake, downtown Plymouth, and Sheboygan. We worked during the day using cell data hotspot. Wifi was available for a fee; we did not opt for this and just used Verizon instead (good coverage).
