Decent place. Little store. Good pool and playground for kids. Sites were ok. Biggest issue was restrooms and showers. Seemed like the bathrooms didn't get great servicing. One shower the floor in the corner was full of dirt and hair that someone just kept missing. Toilet stall was messy one night. 30 minutes or more to Arch.

Lots of people, road noise and a train. Definitely worth the price for not having to find a spot and having a bathhouse.

  • Nice KOA; probably a great place if you're visiting Six Flags.

Mid pandemic the campgrounds were 100% full with lots of get togethers. As riots raged in our cities, friendliness and old time comraderie prevailed in this packed right place. Fresh air and automatic distancing let us know we were safe. The camp store was out of almost anything edible, as we are finding to be the case everywhere we camp. So stock up on snacks and drinks at the gas stations. Wear your masks.

We had a quick overnight stop here. The pool was nice and had a playground. It was right off the highway but noise didn’t bother us in our RV.

First time on the road with the family camper. Nice little spot outside of St. Louis to stop. Plenty of gas stations and food nearby. Nice amenities like gift shop, and sites are nice and shaded. Planning on stopping here again on the return trip home.

Nice KOA, right off Route 66 (business loop 40). The wifi works great, the people were friendly and the restrooms/showers were nice and clean. We were staying in a tent and had a mulch/wood chip site which was very difficult to put pegs for our tent into. It’s near the highway so you get some noise but nothing terrible.

The sites are pretty good size, with a picnic table and a fire ring at each site. We stayed in 30 amp W/E/S and for the most part had no issues. Occasionally we did have low voltage, even in an off season of March. There is an outdoor pool that of course is seasonal here. The park was really busy, about half full with half of those staying longer term and half in and out daily. The weekend was a little busier for the for the Six Flags opening. We understand that this park gets very busy with Six Flags traffic in the summer, since that is only about a mile away. Easy access to Eureka's services of Walmart, etc. Verizon and AT&T are both very good here. The KOA WiFi is actually good for entertainment use, but not for working on it with video conferencing. If you need WiFi just for web access to work you may be good to go. We have seen 50 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up on both Verizon and AT&T. Ping times of anywhere from 25 - 225 ms.There are two train tracks 1000 feet from the Southeast end of the camp, and to the Northwest end you are closer to the highway. We were in A13 which is closer to the train. The trains move at about 50 miles per hour through here, no whistles and with the topology of the canyons you really don't hear them except for a very short burst. The highway sometimes can be busy and loud, really only when trucks hit the rumble strips on the side of the road do you hear it.

There are some upgrade or maintenance projects that seem to be stalled. If you have a big rig the trees need to be trimmed as there are some low hanging branches. It looks like whenever the staff is done with anything they just push it off the side of the road and let the weeds just grow up around whatever has been discarded. Most sites are not satellite friendly but the cable package is not bad. This should be a 5 star campground and everything that is not correct could easily be fixed with someone leading a good maintenance crew. I hope the next time we visit everything is completed.

It is minutes from Six Flags and 30 to 45 minutes from anything else you might want to visit in the city. While the campground isn't huge, it was surrounded by some wooded hills and has many mature trees so it still feels like you are camping. Our three-year-old had a great time riding his bike around the mostly paved roads. We were in town for softball tournament, but because of some rain were able to spend more time in the campground than expected. We also drove to the zoo (definitely worth a visit!) which was around a 30-minute drive. This campground is under new management and they have made some upgrades for this year. The pool has been repainted and the furniture was new. We were there early in the season after several rains and the pool was chilly for adults, but fine for kids (it is heated). There is also a new barrel train for the kids to ride. They had several planned activities throughout the weekend including a bounce house which our kids enjoyed. The campground was very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. We picked up a nail in one of our tires and they couldn't have been more helpful. I would say that the playground is a bit small and best suited for younger kids (maybe under 5). Verizon LTE coverage was good throughout the campground. AT&T was a bit weaker and I noticed my phone dropped from LTE to 4G a couple of times. I don't think I would count on an AT&T connection if you need to work. I did test out the campgrounds Wi-Fi and found it to be fast and reliable (the campground was less than half full so it might be different on a busy holiday weekend). You are fairly close to the interstate and you can hear it when outside if you listen for it, but we didn't hear it all inside our trailer. There is also a nearby rail line. We heard one train Friday night and several Sunday mid-morning. This wasn't a problem for us, but you could hear them inside our trailer when they went through. We didn't hear any during the night and my wife is a very light sleeper.Overall, this is a really nice campground that we plan on visiting again!
