Nice campground for us while on road heading to New England for fall colors. Campground was not crowded since amusement park is not open during the week at this point. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Only downside is the WI-FI did not work for us. I saw this comment in other reviews.

  • Adequate, if you aren't going to the water park

There are few options in central CT, and this one is clean. Sites are close, and most campers are kid focused. Don't believe what they saw about wifi. It only works on the store porch. Showers are clean, laundry room has 2 washers, 3 working driers. W/E with dump station. Kind of expensive, but not a lot of choices.

While this campground is very expensive ($45 per night during the week and $60 on weekends for W/E), it's one of the best options in Central Connecticut. All of the sites here are pull through sites and all of them are opposing, meaning, you pull in and your neighbor pulls in the opposite way - which is typically terrible. However, in this case, the sites are extremely long and wide, so you really aren't facing your neighbor. You'll be at one end of the very long driveway, while your neighbor will be at the opposite end of the very long driveway. All things considered, it wasn't bad. There are also large grassy areas between the sites, and there are a fair number of trees throughout the campground. While it's not great privacy-wise, we've stayed in a lot worse places. While the sites are very large, we had to use our levelers which is a bummer. However, the 50 amp service was solid, and the utilities were easy to get to. Unfortunately, this place is water/electric only, but there is a dump station. The station is pretty narrow and would be a challenge to get into with a very large rig, but it can certainly be done.Honestly, we weren't expecting very much from a campground built to service an amusement park, but we were pleasantly surprised by this place. Not only is it very convenient for the campground-desert that is Central Connecticut, but the campground itself is pretty nice. The sites are very large, they keep people spread out, there are nice amenities within the campground (the bathhouse is brand new and has individual bathrooms, there is a large souvenir and supplies store, playgrounds, etc...) It is horribly overpriced compared to W/E sites out west, but Connecticut simply doesn't have many options, so they can command top dollar. Next time we're in the area, we'll most definitely come here.

  • Quiet campground.

Dump station is close and clean, in fact all the facilities were very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great if you are planning a trip to Lake Compounce amusement park. One of the nights that we were there they were having a movie night for some group in the pavilion, the movies were incredibly loud even while we were in our trailer and continued until 10:30 pm, not much fun when you have to wake up early the next day to get back on the road, other than that one night we had a nice relaxing experience. Wifi is there but not great, Verizon signal was good.

These are all partial hook ups (water/electric only) but a clean and free dump station is available. The sites are gravel, level and open. Each have a picnic table and fire ring. This campground also has a nicely wooded tent only area and many different rental types (Tepees, Cub Cabins and 1&2 Bedroom Cabins). There are some activities for the kids and a nice playground area but the focus is the ease of going to and from the Lake Compounce Amusement Park. They run a shuttle or parking is free if you are staying at the campground so you can drive yourself. Because there is a water park at Laake Compounce the campground does not offer any pool or splash pad also there is limited food options at the camp store. I highly recommend this campground if you are intending on going to Lake Compounce however it is not somewhere my young kids would be content staying at for long if the amusement park was not part of the equation.

In addition to the RV sites there are large and small cabins and a few TeePee's which have cots, a small heater and small fridge inside. There is a dump station but it is a little tight for big rigs. This is a great place to stay if you ar spending your time at the amusment park. They have shuttles which run to the park.
