We were checked in quickly and efficiently by Rita who is a gracious and helpful hostess and obviously takes pride in her family oriented campground. Beautifully treed and park-like campground. The grounds were clean, well cared for, quiet and the sites were level, wide and semi-private One of the cleanest and best laundry rooms I have seen in all my travels. All machines were working and newer plus there is a comfortable lounge area with books to read while you wait. Great dog park, fully fenced with grass. Children's play area and large grassy space for family fun. The pool looked very nice although it was closed when we were there in April.

It is close to the freeway and easy to access but once you enter, you're camping in the woods. The park is very nicely kept, the pride of ownership shows throughout. As some others mention, the owners have rules that guests are expected to follow, but I think that is why the park felt so peaceful even during Memorial Day weekend. Highlights for us: the nature trails, REALLY NICE BATHROOMS, bike track, location, large site with decent privacy, playground (my son spent HOURS there!) Worth mentioning: the Olympia area is also so fun. Still a small town feel but a lot of cute shops, restaurants and beautiful views to be had. We visited the docks, Farmer's Market and enjoyed lunch at The Olympia Oyster House (HIGHLY recommend) then shopped downtown finding an upscale children's store, vintage shops and other little boutiques. From the campground it's 45-1 hour to the Tacoma area which is also beautiful-full of family friendly activities and gorgeous views of Mt. Rainier. Also in the area-The Mima Mounds-super cool!Decent cell service 2-3 bars for both AT&T and Verizon. Site 6 was close to the Wi-Fi and with a booster we were good to go. Pool was closed due to Covid Restrictions. If you are susceptible to mosquitos (I'm the person they feast on all night!) Bring some OFF. No sewer hook-up and our spot but a dump station on the way out worked great. Since the bathrooms were nice this was less of an issue. Great place for a mellow camping trip with amenities and adventures nearby.

Seemed more like some of the private campgrounds were they really pack the RVs in. So, we called American Heritage Campground and had a very nice conversation. Yes, they have sites available. They asked if we had pets and what kind. They explained that dogs are to be on lead AT ALL TIMES and are not to be left in the RV if we go away. Expectations were clearly spelled out, reasonable, and explained in a very friendly way. Got there, checked in, and went to our site. The sites here are much more spacious than at the state park. There was plenty of space throughout the campground to walk our dogs. We had a very nice stay.Olympia has a wonderful farmers market... don't miss it. Lots of organic produce, great food vendors, and even the Olympia Poet Laureate writing poems for you!Verizon LTE service at the campground was GREAT... very, very fast.$40 for water and electric site. $45 for full hookups. We got water and electric, and then dumped at their dump station (for guests only) on the way out.

Lots of trees and the sites in the back are nice and private. We just couldn't get past the vibe of the place. They say they want you to relax and have a nice time...but it just didn't feel true. They jumped on us a couple of times, 1 because we were just unhooking and the dog was out of the car...not on his tie -up yet ( i was still digging it out). I grabbed him up right away, no problem, thanks for the reminder....it's just he was so rude about it. No acknowledgment that I had responded right away. Later we were stopped as we were entering our site because the lady couldn't read our red camp pass (evidently it was up too high on my windshield)...again, no big deal, we fixed it....and again, she just kept going on and on, without a friendly acknowledgment. It's as if they expect everyone to be rule breakers. I get it, you definitely need rules...it's just you can be nice to nice people. Finally, we were there 4th of July, we were told over and over...NO Fireworks!!! (no problem, we don't like them anyway). I'll just say, we spent one of the loudest 4ths in that park and evidence of fireworks were on the road in front of at least one campsite....so I'm wondering where their policing efforts were that evening.Bottom line, we're super easy going and respectful campers. We've traveled all over and simply never stayed at a park that felt so tight and icky. Nice on the surface, angry and suspicious underneath. We were happy to leave.

Visiting friends in Olympia and this private park with a state park feel was just the ticket. Convenient to town or adjacent areas and pleasant otherwise. There's a cool food truck lot in Olympia that's worth checking out. We had the Assyrian shawarma which was delish. Nice tables to hang out and eat etc.

We holed up here for a week surrounding 4th of July to avoid crowds and to be close to family. Narrow, paved loop roads with gravel or grass sites. Mostly shaded. E/W and FHU sites.
