The bathrooms were very clean, and showers were great no coins needed. We had a great time. Watched a few people drive the wrong way through our loop..but overall not a bad experience. We will likely go again since it’s close to lake cushman :)

  • Pretty campground, they choose your site

She greeted us and gave us our site number. While the campground was pretty our site was pretty lousy. It was open, right across from the "playground" aka cement pad with a basketball hoop, 4 painted tires for kids to climb on, the laundry room and restrooms, which If they were open this would be pretty annoying. When you make a reservation you do not get to choose your site, yes, there are some good sites but there are also lots of less desirable sites. We agreed we probably will not be coming back for that reason. We don't like surprises. The campground does have several walking trails and of course the creek. It is in a convenient to Lake Cushman, Staircase, several great hiking trails and Hoodsport. Within walking distance is a coffee stand, a great cafe and little convenient store. If we could choose our site I think we might go back.

  • Not perfect but "OK" and would possibly return to camp.

Pros: Well, Lake Cushman! (the end.) :)... Also, very close to a convenience store and espresso stand, nice employees working there, cool little walking trail where you can see Bigfoot (lol.)Cons: The Sunrise website for this RV park should NOT even advertise WiFi. If they insist on keeping "WiFI" in the ad, then it should also say (on the website) "surcharge applies" as it is not free. But even more problematic -- After you pay the $5 for your weekend of WiFi, you come to realize that it works/connects about 30 percent of the time. Super problematic and annoying...Never. Ever. Stay in site 13! There is a trail right in the camp spot that tons and tons of kids and drunk 20-somethings insist on walking through all day and night. Why? I don't know. When did people lose respect for other people's privacy? UGH .... Isn't there more than one bathroom at this RV park? (We wouldn't know, we have a self contained travel trailer.) AVOID site 13 if you want any semblance of privacy, people. So that sums it up. I would possibly stay there again if I really wanted to go to Cushman, though I much much prefer Skokomish Park RV/Tent Campground at Cushman.Pros about Cushman in general - HIKING! Google the following... Dry Creek Trail at Lake Cushman (best hike!) and, Copper Creek Trail at Lake Cushman. :)

It is heavily treed, rather quiet and private up there, but if you have a heavy rig you will feel it going up and watch your braking coming down.We stayed in 2015 and at that time there was no AT&T and Verizon was spotty. So it was a little stressful for us to stay there as we just weren't as connected as we usually need to stay for work. Though walking around it seems some sites get better coverage then others....towards the back of the park there seems to be almost no coverage and the closer you get to the front (less private part of the park) the better the signal gets. Our site itself was nice, we had nice separation between us and other RVers. However they were having power issues. The main breaker that supplied us and about 10 other sites popped a few times. The camp hosts were new that year, and had just gotten there a week earlier. We learned together that about 10 sites were all on a single breaker that was ridiculously low. So it didn't take many rigs to fire up the A/C's on a warm day or run their microwaves before that breaker popped and everyone in that area lost power. The hosts were definitely very concerned, and I am sure they have fixed it since. Was a relatively short drive to some beautiful areas of the National Forest and to an Olympic National Park entrance.[Actual stay was 6/11/15]
