There are lots of really cool tent sites, some appear very secluded and right on the water. Our site was right next to the dirt road going to the tent sites and yurts. No busy at all. Had a very pleasant view of the lake from our site. Our RV neighbor was very friendly.Suggest going on the sea kayak trip at Friday Harbor. Island life seems to revolve around the ferry schedule. On that note MAKE A RESERVATION!! Costs nothing unless you’re a no show. On our departure date we had reservations for the 11:00 AM ferry. The 9:00 was canceled as was the 10:30; 11:00; 12:30!! We got on the 2:30 departure but wouldn’t have had it not been for our reservations.

  • Great for glamping, a little pricey for what you get in the RV spots

This is a glamping destination- they have "canvas cabins" which are giant tents with king sized beds, chandeliers and full bathrooms with showers as well as normal cabins, yurts and a lodge. They also have dozens of large tent camping sites that all seemed have 10-20 people at each one. With all of that they only have 6 RV spots which are a little tight and not really level. They are conveniently located near the bathrooms/showers and overlooking one of the lakes.Along the glamping theme we happen to be here while they were hosting a gourmet glamping meal where a chef comes from seattle and prepares a 5 course meal over the campfire. We decided to partake and it was a really cool experience- plus it came with a lot of wine which made the expensive price tag worth it.There are not a ton of RV parking options on San Juan Island (maybe because bringing an RV on the ferry costs a pretty penny) and we booked last minute so this was our only option. but we would stay here again. There is so much to see on the island and this is a good base camp for exploring it all.Overall didn't have service at the park but sometimes a string of messages and notifications would come through. They did have wifi at the general store that worked well enough. once you get closer to Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor service is great.

We stayed in a group site with some friends and found this campground to be very nice. Quiet, great for the kids, close to Friday and rouche harbors.

  • Great for families with money

Normally we dry camp/boondock. We (our fault) showed up in Friday Harbor on a whim and everything was full. Was referred here. It's a great spot if you have kids. There is a lake/dock for swimming. There are boats to rent and a large chessboard and crafts. Your kids could run about and stay occupied. It's a great spot if you have kids. There is a lake/dock for swimming. There are boats to rent and a large chessboard and crafts. Your kids could run about and stay occupied. They offered us a dry camp spot near the lake and road (one of the main roads (with cars passing by). Has a fire ring and picnic table. We are in "the orchard" (their words) which means a big grassy field. Fairly level. Nobody in the spots near us. Virtually no ATT or Verizon coverage. They do offer a Wifi area. I believe there are bathrooms and showers, but there was no mention of them to us. Nor any codes provided. Beggars can't be choosers, but $55 bucks?! We have never paid that much for a site...and especially a DRY site. I am dying to know what the full sites cost.
