I'm not sure if the sites are numbered, but we stayed in the very first site just in front of the office. While we had a little space under our awning, we were a bit worried as we were right up next to the road. However, there is so little traffic (we may have seen a handful of locals drive & park up the road) it really was a non-issue. We thought we would miss not having a firepit, but there is a community pit close by. The bathrooms were always super clean, and the "outdoor" shower was a pleasant surprise! The porch, coffee and snack (my grandson LOVED the cookies), were also a nice surpise. The camp host (owner?) was super helpful - guiding us on places to visit, and other general assistance. The site was level, and easy to get settled in. No trouble with power/water/sewer either. The sites are right at the river, and we saw a beaver several mornings. And, it's a perfect location if you plan to bike the Creeper trail. The bikeshop across the road offers a discount on the shuttle for campers, and there is a trailhead right down the road so we shuttled up, and biked 17+ miles back. We would definitely stay here again! Sorry - we were so busy we forgot photos! We stayed in mid-June 2021.

  • We enjoyed looking out over Laurel Creek, watching the wildlife.

Great location on Main Street in Damascus. Russell, the owner, is friendly and has a very welcoming place here. Most nights you'll find guests congregating on the front porch. Trails everywhere. For cell, Verizon is great, tower is line of site from the campground. I didn't record the bandwidth but it was among the better places I've stayed, more than adequate for video conferencing, etc. Be prepared to figure out an alternative for AT&T. We used skype/etc. to call out over the VZ hotspot.

Beautiful setting along a roaring creek. Not much room for parking if you rig is over 30'. No TV reception. No AT&T. Verizon works. Wifi is iffy. Water quality is good. Appalachian trail runs past here. Town a popular place for those who would like to do the Virginia Creeper Trail.
