We were scared to go due to reviews but didn’t have any other TT options in the area. After arriving we had the best camping experience thus far. The staff made us feel like family, always polite and great with the kids. We got to play candy bar bingo with the kids. My 3 year old was catching fish everyday from the pond, playing at the pond and watching the fireflys glow at night around the community fire pit. This was by far the most family friendly campground that we have been to. We plan to come back around and possibly spend a few months next time. Tom, the member services liaison was always there to answers random questions as we recently upgraded our membership. Kelly who works up front has enough energy for two to three people, bound to make you laugh at least twice.

The office staff is really nice and so far they don't charge for packages. They do lock in your spot before you get here so its not a first come first serve. They guide you to your spot. I use Fast.com for internet speeds. ATT 2.7 Mbps, Tmoblie 3.2 mbps

Spent the first night in the parking lot and had to find our spot in the morning! Definitely added to our frustration.Because we are full timing we've always had the ability to receive packages at the front office. We had planned on this and had several items shipped here only to find out that they returned all of them to sender. They stated that no thousand trails campsite receives packages on behalf of residents (which is absolutely not the case!) after a heated debate we convinced them to give us the diapers and medication sitting on the other side of the wall but they returned everything else! ????During our 2 week stay we would randomly loose power and water without warning. Our site was a massive swamp pit (granted we've had rain from hurricanes but other sites would dry up while ours remained a lake!) I have young children and several times they fell into the mud face first!! Every time I tried to speak with someone in the office the only answer I received is "I don't know" or "I can't" - felt like they are a bunch of puppets barking commands for someone who refuses to connect with what their residents actually need! Seriously never again!

We had a great site location in front of the putt-putt and pool. The amenities were well kept. The campground was busy with kids on the weekend. Staff was friendly. Sites did get muddy when it rained. Close drive to the beach.

I would never stay there after seeing the conditions. This was our first time going to a thousand trails campground after getting the membership and upgrading to the trails collection too. We were using this as a one night stop to refill, dump and hook up for the night. We were just using it a free stop to our real destination - Carolina Pines in SCWe were so put off by how incredibly rude the woman who ran the place was. We have 2 girls (3 and 6) and because of some issues along the way we were not able to get to the camp until 9pm at night. We got our registration sheet from the door and tried to go to our site. This woman came up in her golf cart barking who are you. And then told us we needed to follow her back to the parking lot. We can not hook up and plug in after dark. I was so taken back by the way she spoke to us and her tone and mannerisms. The sites had grass or maybe gravel but grass growing through. The place looked like a swamp with how much mud and water collected everywhere. There was a huge puddle even to walk to the office front door. I can only imagine all the bug and mosquitoes. Beware. They do not let you park after dark so if you are Not 100% sure you will get there on time, don’t waste your time or money.

A bit out of the way and not a lot of services in the area, but very near the water. I've heard people complaining about the noise from rail-gun testing and other fun activities over at the naval base, but I have yet to experience anything like that in the 4 times we've been here. The utilities work well, the roads are older but not in terrible shape, and during this period of COVID-19 craziness they are limiting contact by leaving your check in packet at the door. They assign sites, which helps a lot since the big RV sites seem to be at a bit of a premium. We typically get assigned to the same few spots because of our size and the 50amp electric has always been clean. It looks like they might have upgraded the sewer as there appears to be some new access points in the park. The laundry is still $2.50 / $2.00 and the machines work well. No coin changer, but they have rolls of quarters for the guests. Pool is closed for the duration. There have been a few activities, but they are all outdoor and with designated social distancing marks on the lawn.In the past, the park used to be simply packed with seasonal people, but there is a marked reduction and more open spots than normal. The staff is friendly enough and the road makes a a nice 1.5 mile loop on the point for anyone who rides a bike. We come here when we basically want to get away.No wifi available. Verizon has a great signal, but seems to have difficulties with bandwidth during a hard rain. AT&T doesn't have a lot of signal strength, but the bandwidth is better than you would expect, even during a hard rain.If your GPS tries to bring you in any other way than 301 to 3 to 664, and your RV is over 38' long, you might want to pause and see exactly where it's taking you. You can take a large RV on almost any of the roads around the area, but you'll be much happier using that route.

Water pressure was good at 55psi.Check-in was pretty quick and easy. We stopped at the front door. They met us with a golf cart and led us to our assigned spot. We backed in without too much trouble other than the 50amp power issue. We did have an employee yell at us for not displaying our rearview window tag while driving out of the campground one day. I don't like having something obstruct my windshield view when driving so I don't drive with the tags hanging. I put them back up after I park. But she yelled at us from her golf cart and insisted we hang it, not just show her that we did indeed have it.There are a few historical sites not far away, but otherwise it's a bit of a drive to see much else. Probably not a campground we'd recommend unless you were planning to be in the area anyway.

For being a TT Park it was great! Showers were hot/clean. Nice field to walk the pups. Barb and Lisa in the office were always so friendly/helpful. Pool opened just a couple days before I left so I didn’t get to use it but it looks nice. 1.5 hours to DC or Richmond, close to George Washington’s birthplace, and close to Ingleside Vineyard which had AMAZING wine. About 25-30 minutes from Walmart but about 10 from Dollar General so plan accordingly. Lots of room for big rigs. Laundry kinda pricy at $2.00/load for very small loads. ATT and Verizon service great.
