The staff was really friendly and worked with us to get my parents in the camp site right next to ours. We stayed in the wooded so there was plenty of shade and the trees helped breakup and slow down the winds. The site itself as nothing special. We where camping in the trees so some sites where level and some where not even close. It was a hit or a miss on what site you got so bring plenty of stuff to level your rig. All things considered we would stay here again. It’s close to the park and beach and the kids had fun. We also came durning the very beginning of the season. So once summer hits and the campground along with the water park fill up, I’m sure it’s a different experiences.

Signage, bathrooms, laundry, and store are all very well maintained. The site was a fairly level gravel pad with concrete patio and new chairs and table. The hookups were standard but beware this rows spigots were set very low to the ground such that regulators couldn’t be used. So, we dug a hole so we could. Very poor design. The park is located very close to the national park which makes it ideal base camp. The town is cute and has lots of good restaurants. We were there off season so many places were closed. The park offers bike rentals so you can bike tour the park. We did all the trails in a day… about 10 miles worth. The park offered brand new golf carts to get around in the park, which was both fun and convenient. There are age restrictions of 18 but not many people observed it and park staff were not overly aggressive with enforcing it. By Friday the park filled up! But we didn’t feels that we were crowded. There were lots of kids having fund as well as a bunch of dogs. So, if you’re looking for a quiet off grid experience, this isn’t the place. We personally enjoyed all the laughter and parents observed quiet hours. A few rookies walked through our camp site which we addressed quickly. They just didn’t know and were respectful. Finally, the staff here are great!! Very helpful with great personalities. There wasn’t anything they were not willing to help with. We would stay here again for sure.

It is a clean and well maintained campground. The back-in RV sites are not exceptional (some are narrower than others and they would be better if regraded with some fresh gravel for the RV to sit on) but they are fine considering the other benefits of staying at this campground (close to beach access, water park, town amenities, etc.). There are plenty of kids activities and the pier is also fun for the kids. The pool needs an overhaul but it was clean.

Also, they rent golf carts so constant cart traffic up and down roads. Think young teens joy riding all night with music playing. Quiets right down at 11 pm though. Expensive and sites are smallish - we had the most expensive type of site with a concrete pad and nice composite furniture - but neighboring site is right on top of you. Great location by Assateague Seashore and stores/restaurants close by. Staff is nice and friendly.

A small playground is located next to the jumping pad, which was popular with the kids. It's a 10 minute drive to Assateague Beach, which was the primary reason we chose this location. The beach is very nice and of course you can see the horses as you drive in. The NASA Wallops Flight Facility is nearby, and worth a look. We happened to be staying at the campground at the same time as one of the rocket launches, which you could see from the boat dock of the campground. It was awesome. Perfect timing. The site was very sandy, which got everywhere. We were constantly sweeping out our camper. It rained once and then the site became very muddy. The sand and mud gave the vibe that the site wasn't clean, even though there wasn't any trash laying around at all. On the contrary, overall the campground was very well kept. We had full hookups. The power and water connections worked as expected. They ONLY have 50 amp power, so you will need an adapter if your camper has a 30 amp connection. I'm glad I emailed them and asked. The sewer hookup was slightly higher than ground level, next to a tree, which made dumping a little bit of a chore. I think this was unique to our site, since most of the other sites were very flat. The sites were relatively close together, which gave the impression of staying in a parking lot, but it wasn't too bad because the entire campground is lightly wooded, with a scattering of trees to give the illusion of privacy and a bit of shade. The mosquitoes were really bad, even though we had lots of bug spray which did not seem to help. There are several areas of standing water around the campground that are probably breeding grounds for the little buggers. Good door discipline didn't help either and they got in the trailer anyway. The bugs alone prevent us from returning. Next time we stay this area we will probably choose another campground further inland or a little further north.

That should tell you something. They also hide a $3.50 per day "resort fee" that says it is for delivery of firewood and ice to your site; activities; music; shuttle to the beach; waterpark discounts. If you're here in the off season on weekdays, none of that applies (except delivery), yet you still get charged every day. It just seems chintzy and why don't they just raise their prices to cover instead of nickel-and-diming?It's a nice campground, centrally located among trees. Easy walking to some businesses nearby (pizza, BBQ, Mexican food, gift shops, kwik mart, Dollar General, hardware). Nice pool and play areas, fenced dog area. Clean bathrooms and showers, laundry.Sites are fairly large. As you might expect, terrain is sandy. You can see Chincoteague lighthouse. A pond is a resting place for lots of shore birds, especially in the evening.

We stayed at a deluxe site with concrete pad and outdoor furniture/chimenea. Highly recommend the concrete sites because if it rains, the campsite gets flooded and takes a while to dry out due to the low elevation. Staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are spotless, the store is well stocked with basics plus fun stuff, and there were lots of activities for adults and kids. The water park wasn’t open yet , but we will definitely be back when it is.
