The staff here were very accommodating and were able to fit us into a water and electric only site for one night. The property this campground reside upon seem to be a large family parcel with horse boarding and riding facilities. It has many amenities catering to families, like miniature golf, playgrounds, fitness center and recreation room. The office and checkin are at the front of the property. After entering through a gate with the code given to us at check in we drove through the expansive property toward the campground. On the way you pass through an RV storage lot with has to be nearly 500 boats, trailers and other RVs parked. You reach the campground after about a half mile from the entry gate. We were in what appeared to be the oldest section of the campground. The hookups were serviceable, but definitely showed their age. Roads and pads are gravel throughout, but well maintained. There was laundry facilities, but they were constantly in use while we were there. This may have been due to one of two washing machines being out of order. Trash and recycling containers were located near the entry gate. A camp store/office is staffed until 7 pm each night.

We picked it because it was near the dealer. What a surprise we will be coming back for a week soon. Too many ++ to list but here are some. Right up against the Dismal Swamp canal, a historical area that sheltered many runaway slaves before the Civil war. Kayaks, canoes and Johnboats are available to explore this canal which had nearly disappeared at one time. It gets kinda muddy when it rains. Nice location and reasonable prices. Big rigs if coming in from the Moses Granby side turn in before the hardies (through the shopping center).

Is this a stellar campground? No. But it was close to family, so that is why we opted to stay here. It is definitely full of long term residents. But there is a dump station on the property.There is WiFi, but it is up at the campground office. You have the option of sitting in the camp store or in your car to use it. I opted to use my Jetpack instead.If it rains, the ground gets very waterlogged. We had an inch of rain one day, it was a soggy mess. If the pads were wider, this wouldn't be an issue.The laundry was affordable at $1 a load. That was appreciated.Yes, we would stay here again to visit family. But if I wanted to go somewhere to get away from it all, this would not be my first choice.

I thought the pictures were accurate although doesn’t show the campground in its entirety. Are there a lot of full-timers here? Yes, but I wouldn’t say 95% are dumps but closer to 15%. We are full-timers and have stayed here for an extended period due to husbands job and love the country setting. Very quiet park with security on site. Friendly staff and reasonable rates. Very well maintained and if something does go wrong are quick to fix.

95% of the spaces are long term "dumps". The spots for us short termers have no sewage. You have to pay for honey wagon. Or walk across the campground to the bath house. Which surprisingly is clean. The spots are on top of each other. The pads are extremely narrow and are surrounded by muddy grass. The grounds are unkempt also.I woul...more95% of the spaces are long term "dumps".
