Ann, Ed and Chris are excellent, friendly and warm hosts and keep the place in beautiful shape. The camp ground setting is gorgeous, surrounded by rolling hills. The grounds are so pristine and the bathhouse is exceptionally clean. If you are into hiking, this is a perfect home base to access the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail and many other wonderful hikes in the Green Mountains. There are dog bag and waste stations throughout the campground. We loved that they separate recycling into seven bins!We appreciated the strong Wi-Fi signal!Needless to say, we will stay here next time we visit Southwest Vermont.

We recently (5/20/22) decided to try Greenwood campground. We like Greenwood better than Woodford because;Greenwood is a better value, Woodford charges $21 plus $12 for a canoe rental plus has pay showers. Greenwood was $42 for our RV. For $8 more you get free canoes and free showers, on site wifi, water and electric sites. Woodford has no on site wifi, water or electric.Greenwood also has pull through sites and more amenities, free books, a game room, etc.Greenwood has more sites with better views. Greenwood is better maintained, (sorry Jess, our daughter worked at Woodford State Park last year), Greenwood is quieter, with less through traffic. Both campgrounds are surrounded by Green Mountain National forest, but Greenwood is closer to the Appalachian/Long Trail.Greenwood has a Vermont country store within walking distance.Greenwood is closer to Bennington.

The roads to and from this location are narrow and hilly. However, we hit the best tree color time, and everything was gorgeous! The sites are nicely spaced and some sites are secluded among the trees. The ones in the trees though look too small for our rig.

Note: You enter the Prospect Ski Mountain in Woodford, VT and drive through to the campground. The CG is locally owned and the rules were very stringent (fine by us). The campsites were large, big-rig friendly and well-spaced; some are even tucked individually back in the woods. This CG is close to the town of Bennington. We only stayed one night as we were passing through to another destination. The entire CG was well maintained, organized and very clean. The toilets/showers were in a central building (in the middle of the campground). During quiet hours, you have to access the facilities using a keypad, which the owners shared the instructions upon check-in. The facilities were super clean (the cleanest we’ve ever encountered)! The CG was extremely quiet at night. Overall, it appeared that the campsites were level. The sites in one section are water and sewer; the other section has no hookups. There was a lovely pond and a large, flat playing field in the center of the CG. We paid by cash although credit cards are accepted if you don’t have cash. We used the dump station, and it operated as expected. We had fairly low Verizon coverage here (1 to 2 bars).

It is a family owned/run campground and it shows. Ann, Ed and their son Chris, along with a few others, keep this place well maintained and in tip top condition. There are electric/water sites and just tent sites throughout the campground. All sizes of electric are available, just let them know what you need and they will charge accordingly. They can handle any size of rig, from class A to Tents. Very spacious sites. Many are in shaded portions of the property, others in the open area. There is a large bldg. That has a big meeting room, game room, restrooms/showers and the upstairs is where the family stays. We've had a wonderful time and are very pleased of our choice of staying here. Come by and stay awhile, We did! You can sign out paddles and life jackets for the canoe or john boat to use on the back pond. They also have 2 smaller ponds to fish, swim, and kayak in. There are plenty of hiking trails around in the near by Ski Park or plenty of State Parks and National Parks with trails. The Appalachian Trail is nearby as well if you care to venture on it. Check out "AllTrails.com" for info about them. There is a local store across the street or the town of Bennington is about 8 miles away if you need anything. We went to "Ramunto's Brick Oven Pizza", in Bennington, and it was wonderful! Ck out reviews on Google. We also visited a local Maple Farm, "Glastenview Maple Farm", in North Bennington. Very interesting. Bill and Susan are wonderful people to talk to and learn about their venture into Maple Syrup farming! Ck out Google as well.

I had to mail them a check to reserve the slot. The slot I got was overlooking one of their lakes. There is a general store walking distance, hiking, and near a town that has everything. The site I stood in had partial hook up, but they had a dumpsite near the office that was fine. It's an Rv park, didn't see any tents and the slots are not close to each other. They have good internet service, in fact the internet tower was right near my slot #3. They sell wood, have recycled cans at the site, and even offer you paper for your fire.

This place is nice. Rustic, adjacent to a ski slope. Our site 28 was great- next to a rushing creek and woods/ only neighbor is behind you. Electric and water appears very well maintained. The office has the baths/ showers and recreation room. (Open all night).Just a few miles from Bennington Vt.

We camped overnight with our 16 foot camper in site #30, which was wooded and private, as there were no campers on either side of us. Our hookups were easy and trouble free. We walked the property to the river and pond, which are outfitted with canoes for a nice paddle. Bathrooms are immaculate and though we didn’t have time to use them, the main building has lots of amenities from books to games to kitchen access that are all thoughtfully equipped and well- organized. Finally, a dump station that is set up thoughtfully with physics in mind! Easiest and cleanest sewer station we’ve used in 10,000 miles! Owners are kind and helpful, and allowed us a choice of a few sites, though we ended up taking their suggestion because it was perfect. WiFi was excellent and my Verizon had service, even in the trees :). Would definitely stay here again, hopefully next time for a few more days to enjoy the property and area.

Owners are on site and have owned the place for more then 40 years. They have really taken care of the place and done it right. We hiked Mount Prospect right next door and went to the Orvis store in Manchester and fly fished the Deerfield River for wild brook trout. This campground is in the middle of a great outdoor playground.

There were only a few other folks when we stayed, which gave it a very private and quiet feel and the campground and trails are very clean. It's family owned and operated, and the owners are really sweet. Entry is a little tricky - the turn's easy to miss, and the road in from the west is steep and curvy, but it's doable (there are some semi-trucks that use Rt 9, so big rigs could handle it). Our only real ding, and not against the campground, was that we didn't love the surrounding towns as much as we did other spots in Vermont. To be fair we only had a little time to explore, and it was raining. I'd give the area another shot on a different trip, and it's convenient to pass through to New York without having to come anywhere near the George Washington bridge with your rig. AT&T had no cell service here, Verizon had 3-4 bars of extended, and the campground wifi actually works really well - worked fine as a work location for us while we here.

We were originally planning to stay in the nearby WalMart, but the parking lot was very small and we would have had to park right near the entrance with lots of traffic. We drove up to look at this campground pretty late in the day - around 6:00. The owners live on site and when I inquired about a spot for the night, she told me they weren't even open for the season yet! But she said we could still stay there which I thought was very nice. So we basically had the whole campground to ourselves. The next morning we walked all around the campground, and it is really beautiful. It looks a lot more like a state park than a private park. Some of the sites are close together, but there are several that are surrounded by trees and close to a stream. Most sites are probably better suited for tents/small RVs, but there are several options for larger RVs. Their property is huge and there are lots of places to walk, and nearby National Forest hiking as well. We would stay here again. Cell service was weak but usable, but they did offer free wife that worked really well. Sites are water/electric only.
