The interior roads aren't smooth or that wide. No real landscaping. Back sites face storage units and a couple rundown RVs. Spaces aren't large. No views. But it is one of our very favorite places to stay in the country. Part of that is because Vernal has so many wonderful things to do and see, but it's also because the guys who own this park make you feel like you're coming home, you're the most important people who have ever stayed there, that you will always be welcome, and space will always be made for you! Seriously, you want to come back even before you leave. Call to make reservations. Tell them what you need. They might have to call you back, but they will do that by the end of the next day. Even with huge, beautiful shade trees, they know which sites will accommodate which satellite provider. We've seen everything from vans to 40'+ coaches fit here. Pick up the brochures in the office with maps and information on the sights in the area. I wish every place had these, they are great!

I made my reservation online through the Pitch Up link on the park's page. They charge 15% that is NON REFUNDABLE. I had booked 2 weeks and due to a death in my family, our plans had to change. I lost over $120!

Small town, but awesome feel! Really shaded park. Very sweet manager. Wifi in the slot we were was awesome, with good streaming. We have AT&T and T-Mobile and both worked okay, but not spectacular. Didn't use the showers or laundry, co can't say how they were. Some full timers who are here, but they were super friendly.

All sites are pull-through - you pick your spot and they come by later to log your site number. All the sites have a little grassy patch and are under the cover of huge cottonwood trees. The day we stayed was breezy and the sound of the wind through the leaves was heavenly. Very peaceful and quiet. There's a bathhouse and laundry but we didn't use either. Definitely recommend this if you are staying a night or two. It's close to Dinosaur National Monument, but alas we didn't have time to visit.

Making online reservations was super easy with a 15% deposit and generous cancellation policy. The washers and dryers ($1.75) were spotless as were the pay showers (all located behind the main office). There is a dump station open to the public on the exit side right next to the office building ($10) with rinse water. There are full-time residents on the two outermost rows but the sites are clean and well kept. There is an unlocked gate in the back of the park opening to a huge middle school sports field where campers can walk dogs and let the kids run around. The trees provide ultimate shade throughout the day making it comfortable to be outside most of the day. Early this morning the 5G park WiFi was over 100 down and 50 up, but dropped to 50 down/21 up mid-morning (not complaining!).

The owner was around working and checking to be sure all was good for us.. He was really helpful giving us information on attractions and the area in general. We ended up staying 5 nights. It was 4th of July weekend so there was a parade and lots of fireworks. It was a great experience. You can tell the owner loves his town. I can't blame him, if I was looking to settle down Vernal would be it.

This campground is in town, kind of hidden, no road noise, shaded, some grass, very good! The owners are very nice and informative, very flexible, a family business for many years. I liked how the owner told us to just pick any spot we wanted that didn’t have a “taken” sign on it! The bathrooms are clean. I highly recommend it.

The campground is located off highway 40 (a 4-lane road with a dedicated turn lane in the middle), which is the main street through town. The office building is about 100 feet from the highway. If you arrive during business hours, the owner will greet you and let you choose your site from the ones currently available. in our case, he walked ahead of us as we drove our rig into the campground; other times campers would park at the office and take a walking tour with the owner to check out the sites. We choose site 11, a pull-through site that had the electrical and sewer hookups on the standard (driver’s) side but the water on the opposite side. The two roads in the campground that exit onto main street are paved, while the other roads are gravel. Sites are a mix of pull-throughs and back-ins with gravel pads. In-ground sprinklers that run around 1am in the morning keep the grass at the sites green, and the owner mows the sites once a week. The campground has lots of tall trees, so nearly every site is well-shaded. The space between each site is typical for a private campground. Each site also has cable TV hookups, but we didn’t use ours. Except for the grass at our site and a few bushes along the edge of the campground, there wasn’t a lot of space for walking our dogs, but we managed (and there were a lot of other dog owners at the campground). The bathrooms and laundry facilities are located at the back of the office building, accessible with the correct door code (we didn’t use any of those facilities). The campground accepts mail and packages, and the owner is usually easy to find if you have any questions or other needs (I witnessed him help some campers into a back-in site by taking the wheel himself). The local Domino’s Pizza will deliver pizza right to your site, and there are number of fast-food restaurants within easy walking distance. In terms of cell service, the best speeds I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay were 13Mbps down and 12Mbps up, but that was during off-peak hours. We could surf the web and do limited video streaming in the early morning hours, but the connection would get worse as the day went on, and most evenings we could barely pull up web pages. During the work day, I would often switch over to the hotspot on my AT&T smartphone: the speed reading I took on the day we arrived showed 144Mbps down and 18 up. The campground does offer WiFi, but we were never able to connect to it: perhaps being at the back end of the campground we were too far away to get the signal.

We stayed for 2 nights in site 43 and upon arrival, Dennis, the owner of the RV park was so friendly and easy to talk with while checking us in. He gave us great information about nearby sights for our family to see... Vernal is known as Dinosourland and boy did it surprise us! Excellent Wifi and laundry is also in the park. The location is perfect for a day or week stay. Smith's grocery store is right across the street. Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur National Monument and many other attractions are with in an hour drive. We only had time to visit the Dinosaur National Monument and the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum, which both were fantastic stops. We would definitely stay here again. Cell service: Verizon 4G extended service.

Even with all the beautiful old growth trees that provide wonderful shade, there are a few with open sky where you want it. Not a lot of space between sites, but we weren't here to hang around camp. There's so much to see withing 70 miles in all directions. Some of the most beautiful country we've seen in 31 states. Grocery store across the street, fuel and propane next door. We had a good experience getting service at the local Cummins Service shop as well. Park is on Hwy 40 so there's some road noise, but not bad and no issue at night. Most of the park is dark at night which is so nice for sleeping with the windows open.
