Unfortunately, this once green park is nothing but a gravel pit with the exception of the area around the office and pool. It wouldn’t take much to level the sites, but no. They like to do business in “cash”… Our biggest mistake was renting a Jeep from them. The staff was unfriendly and gave us very strong instructions on how we were to return the Jeep. Clean inside and out, no dust inside. Period. Go find a car wash and vacuum, make sure you dry it completely, etc. Then they say absolutely no dogs. Lastly, they charged $233.49 a day for what is a maximum allowable period of 11.5 hours, not 24. As the owner said, “I need to sleep”. We spent a long time detailing their Jeep which was a over-the-top requirement.Internet is nearly non-existent— 320kbps. Campground fell far short of expectations created by website.

We had a back-in site with beautiful aview. Neighbours were close but we were lucky that on one side the site was closed (breathing room). Dirt pads but has electricity. Did some much needed laundry which wasn't expensive ($1.75 for a wash and $2.00 for a dry I believe) and had a nice hot shower with no time restriction. Shower stalls were lockable with a good bench. Bathrooms were clean but not much room in the stalls. They have a pool (which was closed), probably nice in the hot months. We just missed the smokehouse BBQ meal they offer (next time I'd arrive in time for that, smelled terrific). I wouldn't stay for a long time but good for a night or two. Cute little cabins but didn't look inside. Staff was warm and friendly and had a nice store. Had cell service.

It’s not our type of camping, but we truly enjoyed this park. It’s close to Capitol Reef, and Torrey is a cool little town. The scenery around the park is nice too. The park itself is immaculate, the showers are hot, the employees are all very pleasant, and the sites are well kept. They even have a BBQ place right in the park. It’s quiet at night as well. Great place for the whole RV experience. Laundry facilities also were adequate and plentiful.

There were no OTA channels, but the campground had good AT&T signal strength so we could stream from our mobile hotspot. They had a nice check-in area which also included a large gift shop of unique items. One nice touch was you could sign up for muffins for $1 to be picked up the next morning. They were delicious!

The facilities are super clean and the amenities are some of the best I’ve experienced in my 4 years of full-time travels. The staff work so hard at making sure the spots are level, trash is emptied and grass is kept green. We’ve had no issue pulling our 40’ 5th wheel into any of the spots and we’ve visited multiple times. We visit once a year now because I consider this park and this location my happy place!

I sat outside almost every day while working and was able to enjoy the sheer red cliffs of the surrounding mesas. If anything brought me back, it'd be the views. The folks that ran the campground did leave a little bit of a bad taste in our mouth. In our 33 days we only went in the camp store 3 or 4 times but always felt unwelcome or that we were bothering them by coming in. There were two people who were always pleasant and helpful (an older woman and a younger gentleman, both seemed to be work campers or local workers). This generally doesn't bother me as we don't normally talk to staff often but for some reason this time it did. Maybe it was such the beautiful scenery mixed with the unwelcome behavior. The wifi at this campground ranks up there in the worst in the country that we've stayed at. We have t-mobile, AT&T, and Verizon cellular plans as backups so we know we can work but even those struggled at times when the area was congested. Usually I can rely on the campground wifi when cellular gets bad but certainly not here. I had to drive a 6 hour roundtrip to make sure I had stable Internet for a very important call. I say this specifically for any working full-timers that may be coming to the area. Don't let the cell strength fool you as it doesn't translate to stable internet most of the time. T-Mobile in particular at one point switched to 3G and never could regain a 4G signal. My biggest complaint, by far, is the water. I'll upload a picture of our BRAND NEW whole house water filter that we installed upon arrival. 33 days and it went from white to brown and every ice cube had floaties of some kind. I even double checked that we were connected to the non-river lines. Our shower is covered in hard spots, my coffee kettle is mineralized, and I'm very afraid of what our tankless water heater's copper lines look like after seeing my kettle. This alone will make me not come back here. The area is fantastic though. Lots of great little restaurants (Capitol Burger and Hunter & Gatherer are some main highlits), a great cidery (no on-site consumption, sadly), and some excellent drives/parks. A large grocery store is about an hour a way (a smaller one is about 15 minutes but lacking) so pack in your rarer items you usually keep on hand AND PACK IN YOUR WATER!

I love this park! Our site had great views and the park has all you need right on site. There is a BBQ restaurant onsite (that was closed during our stay) that we want to check-out next time, and it's only a few miles from the entrance to Capitol Reef. Very family-friendly, with a modest park in the center of the facility.

We got a site in the back overlooking the red rock cliffs. The showers and laundry were very clean. The staff very friendly. They take good care of all the facilities. We did not feel crowded in, like we do in most full service RV parks. We had enough space around us so we were not on top of our neighbors. They have a smoker and a chef who knows how to use it. We had dinner our first night at the Torrey Grill, right at the campsite. I had the vegetable plate and was not disappointed. This guy knows what he is doing. Everything was delicious. We also did some gift shopping at the store, got a couple of mugs and some homemade jams. I’m not sure about the cell service, but they do have working WiFi. The weather is a bit cooler in Torrey than in most of Glen Canyon, Capitol Reef, or Grand Staircase. So it was nice to roll in at night and feel refreshed.

They are generally fully booked in the early fall, so we had to settle for a water/electric site for our 8-day stay. We were located in the row at the back of the campground, which are back-in sites that are quite narrow: the picnic table and fire pit at each site are located at the back of the site because that’s the only place for them. On the other hand, we had great views of the red rock formations behind the campground. The office also doubles as a store which has a large gift shop, a wall of RV stuff, and a few shelves of snacks/convenience store items. There are bathrooms on the backside of the office building, as well as two other bath houses with bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Next to a large grassy play area there is a small heated swimming pool that’s designed for kids (or for adults content to soak for a bit). There is also a barbecue restaurant and hair salon on site, but both were closed during our stay (probably due to COVID). A small private RV repair shop is located next door to the campground. There’s no dog park, but there were plenty of places to walk our dogs. The cell service was decent. I saw download speeds around 30Mbps down and 5Mbps up with my Verizon Jetpack hotspot and MIMO antenna, enough to stream TV with rare stutters. Meanwhile, my AT&T cellphone was getting 26Mbps down and 3Mbps up.Torrey is a small town. There are a few restaurants, a gas station with a convenience store, and a large general store that has a few aisles of groceries. But it is the closest town to the main attractions in Capitol Reef National Park. You can also get on scenic byway 12 on the east end of town.

Staff was great and the gift shop was nice. My hubby used the pool every day, while not the nicest pool we have seen, it was clean and still open in late September. Our site was on the east side, and not on the north where the views of the red rocks are great. HOWEVER, the sites on the north side with the views looked very tight. We had plenty of room, and had a decent rear and side yard that we could hang out in. They have a small fire pit for wood fires in the sites, and most have a picnic table. The pull through spaces in the middle looked good, but we were very happy on east side. Easy access to Torrey and the NP. A great location! We would come again. This also looked to be the nicest, newest RV Park in the area.

The location was great for the national park access and the views of the sunsets were amazing. Our spot in site 17 gave us unobstructed views of the west that were just gorgeous. Although the highway parallels the RV park, road noise was minimal. The staff was friendly and the park was clean. Maintenance crews were working constantly to maintain the park. There was a nice little BBQ place that provided nightly dinners (expensive, but good and convenient). The gift shop has essentials. There is a general store in nearby Torrey with a better selection of food items. For real groceries, the closest store is in Loa, about 15 minutes away, so plan accordingly. Propane exchange on site, but if you want propane filled, you'll have to go to the Wonderland RV park down the street.Internet connectivity was overall poor. If we didn't have T-Mobile, there is no way we'd have been able to work there for the week. WiFi was spotty and pretty slow, especially upload speeds if that matters to you like it does to us. Verizon and AT&T were both useless, and I imagine Sprint is the same.Even though connectivity was a challenge, we would not hesitate to stay here again. We had a wonderful time.

Verizon data did not work here, but my Verizon talk/text did work. AT&T data worked well so we used that for work. We were fortunate that they gave us one of the nice and large back-in sites; the interior pull-through sites looked a lot smaller. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because they charge extra for children. Hotels don't charge extra for our kids to stay in the room with us, so I don't understand why some RV parks charge extra for kids to stay in our RV. Anyway, if a place charges a "kid-tax" I can't rate them as excellent because that does not seem very family-friendly to me.

There was a low branch and I thought that it would be too close to the rig so I sent my wife up to the desk to get reassigned. They refused saying that they put large rigs in there all the time. So we tried it and guess what, our full wall slide would hit the branch if we had fully deployed. So I sent her back and told her to get our money back if they did not reassign us. With plenty of attitude, they begrudgingly reassigned us. Bad customer service is unusual in the campground business but definitely turned me off on the campground. So, the campground is tight, I mean really tight. The guy next door parked his truck about 2 feet from the side of my rig and I can't blame him because there isn't room to park it lengthwise on the side of the road. The sites are about 20-25' wide. The power is good, wifi is ok except during the prime evening hours. The park is clean. One of the other reviewers said they had 4g Verizon service but all we were able to get is 3 bars of Extended X1 and that is with a Wilson booster.

The WiFi worked well most of the time, getting a little slow at night. Data service is Extended Network (we are a Verizon customer) 1X with two bars. We will stay here again when we visit the area.

  • Really nice propane tanks!

Torrey, Utah is about as wee as a lass may come, and I assure you the folk are of the smiling varietal. The park itself is more or less "RV parky ", our fire could have easily lit our neighbor's rig alight, though it was his own choice of where to park it after I already had the blaze going. We actually had two spots here, and the second one, in the row furthest from town, is a bit more spectacular in that you have sweeping views of some big red rock cliffs. For all you kiddos reading, yes, I can confirm that they have an awesome metal airplane you can sit in and balance in a way that will feel like flying! But on the ground. At night we'd walk to a restaurant called, I believe, Diablo Something-or-other which served up interesting fair like Rattlesnake Cakes and incredibly tasty margaritas. Beware though, the night stalkers, for the road is darker than pitch when viewed through sun glasses in a black hole, and traffic is firm in the godspeed department!
