Sewer connection is at the back of the site, needed 25 feet to reach and not a secure fit, used a rock to hold in place. Power good, water pressure good.Interior roads are dirt/gravel, site pad dirt/gravel. Several potholes and large exposed rocks throughout. Very level left/right, needed to lower the front a lot to achieve front/back level. Picnic table and fire ring. Ice and firewood available on the honor system. Payment goes in the box near the front door to the office.Quiet, near UT 24, but not noticeable. Sites are narrow and close together.OTA TV very good, advertised wi-fi worked very well, Verizon 4G 3 bars, occasional roaming.Bath house clean, very rustic, checked the showers, pretty much no water pressure. Laundry clean, 2 washers/2 dryers.Overall an okay place for a night or two, although a bit expensive at $45 per night for the quality of the sites. Paying for location, being just 11 miles from Capitol Reef National Park.SEVERE drop from UT 24 pavement to the dirt entrance.

Unfortunately when we arrived we were shocked to see how small the spaces were and what disrepair the RV park was in. We have a motorhome with 4 slide outs and tow a jeep. Our friends had a 30 foot trailer with 3 slide outs. The spaces assigned us were so small we could not get our RVs in them. The people next to ours had tents alongside their RVs which made it impossible to put our slides out. The trees were overgrown and the gravel lots were rutted. We love to support small locally owned businesses. Unfortunately this was not a good one. We booked Sand Creek RV because of the good reviews but It looks like all the good reviews are for tent camping or cabins if that’s what you’re looking for it may be the place to stay. But if you have an RV or trailer I would not recommend it. When we arrived and realized we couldn’t fit we went next-door to Lakeside RV Park. We were able to get spots there which did accommodate our RVs. We have traveled all over the US and Mexico and this was one of the worst ones we have encountered. Sand Creek RV charged us for the full three days for two spaces. I contact them and offered to pay one night for both RVs. But they refused so now we have to dispute charges with our credit card company. Not fun for anybody.

Nightly rate is a tad high considering this (one of the washers was out of order while we were there, $5 per load), but its proximity to the Capitol Reef, restaurants, laundromat and small grocery store somewhat makes up for it. The site itself was very nice, level, shaded and freshly graveled although pretty close to the neighboring site. We had no neighbors our entire stay so the views of the red cliffs and sunsets were pretty fantastic. There are a few cabins and lots of tent/dry camping sites for van dwellers and tent campers, as well as nice and clean showers/bathrooms. Cell service was good on all three carriers, we averaged about 10MB down and 5MB up on all, more than enough to work and stream, reasonably fast campground WiFi was available as well. Harry was a great host, and while yes, we were greeted from the balcony I believe they are in the process of remodeling the office. If we come back through Torrey we will definitely stay here again.

This didn’t bother me, but I did find it a bit odd.We stayed on the left side odd number sites: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. These are pull through and there is a great view of the red rocks BUT it took all our blocks to try to get level front to back due to own site sloping. We actually had to ask for more blocks/wood from the owner, who told us to go look behind the barn for 2x4s. It took three of those too, and we were finally level. As for location, it’s right off the main road, but we heard no road noise. Sites are close together but we didn’t have any noise issues with neighbors. I was told by another guest that the laundry has “one good machine” but did not try it myself. (We did laundry in town at The Chuckwagon for $1.75 wash and $1.75 dry, instead of $5 at Sand Creek.) Showers were clean. The perk here is that you are a short drive to Capitol Reef. That part was awesome.

They were very accommodating in allowing us to come in prior to checkin time. Harry, the owner was accessible and busy accommodating customer wishes. They even pulled out an extension cord to accommodate an RV when they were full. The grounds could use a little landscaping work but the spaces were attractive though a bit close together. The laundry, firewood and ice are on an honor system due to COVID precautions. Wash and dry $5. 2 washers and dryers. Didn’t use the restroom/showers. Most, if not all RV sites, are pull through and easily accessed. Tent sites are nice with privacy partitions. Absolutely beautiful views with access to OHV, hiking, biking and Rockhounding trails from camp! A huge plus. Beautiful red rock country without the crowds about a mile behind the campground. We will stay again.

When we arrived, Harry told us that they had closed the laundry room last month. He ve said “It was listed in the winter policies on the website.”I double checked. Neither the website or the confirmation email noted about the closings of the laundry or showers. In fact, the website and email both still listed the laundry hours. This was our least favorite stop on our 21 day roadtrip. The wifi worked decently. I can’t complain about that perk. All water was shut off already too. It also appears that we paid MORE offseason than everyone else did a month ago. I would not chose this park again. We stayed, because they were the only place open in December. Only two other campers there, which was good. The spaces were packed together.

I’m in a van, so don’t need power or hookups, so although all official sites were full, Harry kindly guided me to his back field, offered several awesome sites to choose from, and even offered to move a picnic table for me. This is a great, friendly, laid back place with awesome owners, decent WiFi and amazing showers!

First of all we were greeted warmly by Harry when we got there. He made sure we are happy from the location of the site to having all the conveniences near us. We were stuck by his kindness and generosity. We are coming from LA and it felt really good to have such great hospitality for a change. He gave us some cool tour guides to read about Capital reef National park and guided us to the best attractions in the area. We spent the next two days exploring the neighborhood attractions like the Goose neck mountains and the Kehab hiking trail. Last day of our visit we went to Bryce Canyon. In my opinion I liked exploring Capital Reef National Park better than visiting Byce since visiting Bryce felt more staged and commercialized. We had a fabulouse time at the camp ground and we will definitely comeback here. Thank you Harry!! You made a difference!! :)

People would be bumping slide outs trying to use picnic table. We pulled ahead a bit so slides wouldn't hit a tree. But then the hookups are in very back of the site. So 3 sewer connections barely reached for me. Wifi worked ok, only 4 other people in the park at the time. Verizon was not great, would go from 3 bars to nothing without even moving around.Beautiful scenery in the distance. Not much in town. Not really a grocery store any where.

A power cord was also ran to our power post that was used for a dry camping site next to us. Our power was turned off several times by whoever was using that site. There was a large shipping container and junk stored next to that sight. We did not have a fire pit to enjoy the cool evenings even though the sites are very close to each other.

Both of them were quite pleasant. We stayed at the Dry side of their area, which is basically an area with gravel and good size black rocks sticking up 3 or 4 inches. We were able to get a spot next to a "manger" that blocked the wind. The full hook areas looked a lot better. They don't allow generators, but I'm pretty sure that at least one of the big RVs was using one. I was able to setup my solar panels and get a full charge, there weren't any trees or other things to block charging.I don't know if they had bathrooms and showers or not, the office area was definitely a work in progress, and they didn't have any supplies or anything else to buy. There is a general store pretty close so it wasn't an issue.

They required leveling. Still, this park has a very homey feel to it and access to the park is superb, especially at the price. Wi-Fi was good and att was lte service, both pluses.

The dry spots however are just a dirt parking lot with a few wind control fences- we were directed to the spot with the view of the red rock cliffs out our front windshield which was great- but to our left was a fence taller than our windows and to the right was an entire pile of scrap wood and tools and things and another fence making it hard to hang out outside of our rig. From these spots we also got weaker signal on the WiFi. Our second night we switched to a hook up spot that was available since it was cloudy all day so our solar charge was low- here we had much better WiFi signal. Now like I said before we stopped at an RV park because we needed showers- and these showers were so disappointing. First off the whole bathroom has one light which is near the entrance and then the two showers are tucked in corners in the back- so there’s no light other than a little ambient light coming over the curtain. Then there was just no water pressure so it took forever to rinse shampoo and conditioner out. I didn’t really use the toilets but it seemed one of the two was clogged each time I was in there. Laundry was fine- $5/load paid in cash to the ownersThe owners were also super friendly and accommodating (let us fill our water tanks before getting in our dry spot, letting us switch to hookups the next day when we didn’t have enough solar power, finding our water filter we left on the table when filling our tanks, giving us suggestions for places to go on our travels, etc) if they could get lighted pressured showers and clean up the junk in the dry campsite I’d give them 5 stars!

The cabins are 35 a night, small and fit 1 chair, 1 small table and 1 double sized bed. We stayed in the "family room" option which is part of the main building and HUGE. Our room had 1 Queen size bed and 4 bunk beds with plenty of headroom. The room also has an electric space heater which worked really well, a microwave oven and a mini fridge. The facility was quiet, peaceful and had plenty of campers and occupied RV spaces despite the cold weather when we arrived late Friday night. The RV spaces looked level but a quick call to the office is recommended because the camping area is on dirt and subject to weathering. March is still considered winter season so most of the local restaurants were closed. Almost everything was also closed on Sunday. Bring some food, water and linens for the bunk beds. The Sandcreek office closes at 7pm so make sure you call ahead and confirm your reservation- we were not sent a confirmation email despite booking 2 weeks ahead.I spoke with one of the owners several times during my stay and found her professional, friendly and willing to help. She was up at dawn both days we stayed making sure the bathrooms were clean and she was very aware of what was going on in her property at all times. The back of the property has a large fire ring for groups. I'm very glad I found this place. The price was very fair for the quality of service. Currently the property is up for sale so the management might change at some point. I would recommend this place for families over any hotel near the Capitol Reef area.
