Being a big rig, we did lots of google map viewing to select our site and it worked for us. Google maps appears to show a gravel/dirt lot in one corner of the park and we were unsure how we might fit in there. That section, like the rest of the park, is paved and there were a couple of larger rigs in there. But note that all of those sites back up to each other. While the roads are paved, there is very little green or other natural landscape between sites. There were a couple of end grass areas that the dog could use. When we opened our awning in our site, we basically reached the picnic table of the site next to us. We knew from the pics that this campground would be tight and crowded. It was surprisingly quiet to be so full every night we were there (just before Memorial Day). Although it is on the Springdale shuttle route, on the mornings we headed to the park between 9 and 10 am, the shuttle was full and we just did the short walk to the park. Same with the return trip in the late afternoon—we did not wait in the line and just walked back to the campground. If you hike the Narrows, we would recommend renting the shoes and stick package. You can get at the outfitter across the street from the campground. And the store “Hoodoos” across the street has a well stocked small grocery and ice cream shop. We enjoyed a meal at Oscars and Pizza and Noodle.

While the park is cramped, the sites are sufficient in size to be cozy and comfortable, but lets face it, you are right beside the Virgin River, the Watchman mountain, and only a 1/2 mile from the Zion National Park! Our site was tight, but we were able to get our 30’ trailer positioned so we could put out our slide and pull our truck beside it to keep it off the narrow roads. The riverside sites have power and water, but no sewer. This CG also has decent showers as well as a pool! The CG is also very near to the Spotted Dog restaurant…a bit pricey, but an awesome meal! We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

You can also pick up the trolley at the entrance to the campground. There is also an amazing view of the climbing layered rocks, which is pretty great! The sites were gravel/sand and not that great. Also, very tight sites. Not big rig friendly, though. Some folks with larger rigs/fifth wheels had trouble getting into their sites without a little neighborly help. Lots of food, local stores, and some gas close by.

We may return in the fall/off-season as Springdale and the Natl Parks were packed.

Unfortunately, the spaces are very crowded and narrow-if you intend on staying here, ensure that your site offers some form of shade. There are spaces in the park which are on a literal gravel pit without any form of shade-for us, in a pop-up tent, this was a big issue. If you are not able to reserve a spot inside the park, then this can be an ok alternative-given the offered amenities and proximity to Zion NP

Then a few days later I see my pending charge cancelled. Called the resort, they claimed they had no record of me, despite my pending transaction and confirmation. Would not recommend EVER, unless you want to chance having a spot or not. We drove days to get here and now we have no where to park, our passes are useless. We have dogs so boondocking in 99 degree weather isn't an option, hence planning for a RV park.

Reason for 3 stars, it’s a gravel lot. For the amount we spent, they could do some upgrades here. Other than that, great location to the National park. Our site had a full hook up which was great. The wifi, Did Not Work! Other than that, they did have a laundry facility available, and the overall park was well kept.

The staff are very helpful and friendly, too. And it was nice to have full hook-ups, including Cable TV (although I didn't watch it that much). Plus the views are gorgeous. Now for the con's: terribly overpriced, very crowded and close quarters, DIRT & DUST EVERYWHERE! I have to belabor that one for a while. There was no grass, no soft pebbled rocks, no landscaping whatsoever, just dirt, gravel, dust, dust, and more dust. After a week staying there, it will take me a month to get rid of the dust and dirt, inside, outside, through, and in places I had no idea dust & dirt could accumulate. My poor puppy will take two or three baths to get cleaned. Also, there was NO working WIFI the entire week, despite advertising they had WIFI. I have a feeling it hasn't worked in a long time and they just don't care to fix it. It was terribly inconvenient. I couldn't get T-Mobile cell coverage or Internet except very early in the mornings, either. Also, they had dumpsters situated in two places toward the front on the park, which meant those of us toward the back got to haul their trash a long distance every day with the added bonus of getting dirty and dusty in the process. The town of Springdale is ridiculously overpriced, too. ($5 for a single scoop of gelato!!!) Next time, I'll either stay at a campground in the park if a spot is available or I'll stay 20 miles or so outside the park and have much nicer accommodations for less money.

Tight turns trying to get in but even the big rigs were able to make it through. Had to move to B10 the last night and I do not recommend this site. Felt like we were sharing a site with our neighbors, backed up against a fence where they were doing construction, had a street light on above us all night and right by the playground. If you aren’t a kids person, the noise that comes from the playground is a little intense at site B10. (Although if you have kids it might be a convenient spot). Overall the facilities were good, we were provided shower tokens. Staff variable in friendliness. Overall, glad we stayed here for the central location. Used Zion Guru for shuttle and Narrows gear. Zion Adventure Company for electric bikes one day. Great experiences at both.

I wasn’t expecting anything but a parking lot. I had reserved R8 and we arrived just after dark so couldn’t see the canyon that night. We woke up to a wonderful view out our front window of the Virgin River and the Canyon. And even though it was crowded we didn’t hear much noise at all. We spent the next day on our bikes. You can bike from here to just about anywhere! We decided to stay another night and D24 was available. It was an even better site !Laundry area was clean, not anything fancy though. Husband showered and said they were nice, they give you two tokens per day per person and a token is 6 mins of hot water. He was able to use mine (since I prefer to shower in the van) and he enjoyed the longer showers ;). The only downfall is the price, but I feel the location most likely demands the price for them to stay open (my opinion only). Staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable on our visit. Note: cell service sometimes just disappears here and the WiFi is not good down by River. I was able to get by with the cell, but not if I had to rely on it for a full work day.

We are camping in the park tomorrow at Watchman for a week. Out first spot was overlooking a huge backhoe and construction site so we asked to be moved. I think the nice spots are the ones by the river for much more money and some of them are very narrow. When I walked into the office it was completely empty. New construction I guess. Everyone was on the phone. I waited a good while before being acknowledged. Only one person appeared in the park on a wagon vehicle. Seemed to be the only one there. On a Friday befor spring break. I don’t think they were ready. Hopefully as the season progresses they will improve. It’s 9:00 and pretty loud in the park.

The location cannot be beat - it is the closest campground outside the park! We walked into the park everyday and never had to move our vehicle. There are restaurants within walking distance if needed, and a small market with all the essentials just across the street. It seems there are several summertime amenities, including a few pools, that we were unable to take advantage of due to weather and COVID. Everything worked properly at the site. We used the picnic table a lot and there was firewood for sale in the main lobby. The rate is steep, but remember you are paying for location and convenience here.

We were originally planning on finding a free spot but because of the snow, we needed to find somewhere convenient to the park, and the National Park campgrounds were closed or full. This location ended up being clutch and the price was reasonable. We were able to take a hot shower after our hike, and there's a grocery store and a few restaurants across the street.

The check in process was more difficult than needed but they obviously don't trust anyone. Graciousness was not evident. This was a very noisy park on Oct 19, 2020. View is nice but you don't want to be outside with everyone on top of each other. There is a lot of trash around the campsite. I don't think anyone cleans the sites here. Zion/Springdale are very, very crowded. Not for us.

Upon arrival, the staff was not the friendliest but when we returned to ask a question the other front desk person was nice. They really pack folks in here, but the point is to go to the park and not spend so much time at the camp. The cell service was spotty and the wifi didn't work at all for us. We definitely wouldn't be able to work here during the week (we require video conferencing for work).

I’d recommend a site along the River. If we come back, that’s what we’d choose. They’re bigger with a view. Staff was very accommodating. Our spot had a ton of cigarette butts and spilled human waste. Once we told them about it, they cleaned it up immediately. Also, we left a day early and they had no problem refunding us. Cons:Do NOT reserve spot B-1, unless you like being in a fish bowl. You are in the first spot, people drive by on both sides of you as well as walk by at all hours. There is a nice tree, but the branch prevented us from extending our awning. Also, there is NO pet walk area, so your little spot of grass by B1 is the official drop off for dog pee/poop. This made for a great view while trying to eat. Recommendation: turn B1-3 into a dog park. Too small of spots and in everyone’s way. We have a 25 ft trailer. While we disconnected and connected, we were blocking traffic. Also, our trailer just fit into the spot. We put our truck next our camper, and that took up the whole spot. We felt as if we were on top of our neighbor. Spots are sandy. Makes for a mess getting in and out of your camper. Showers take tokens, from the office. One token= 6 min shower. Although the showers are nice, they’re cleaned once a day. So, get in there after they’re cleaned. Also, there’s no where to put your shampoo, etc while in the shower. So it sits on the ground. There’s one hook for your clothes and towel. No bench. I recommend a shelf in the shower and a bench in the dressing area. Hint: wear shower shoes...no shower mat in shower.

We are newish to this and prefer full hook ups having the young children with us until we are “pro”. Lol We live in Las Vegas and this was the only place with a two night stay available within the distance we were willing to travel. Overall- check in was nice and friendly. It was easy to find our site! I pull a 24ft TT so backing in was not too hard. I did not have to ask anyone to move something. However, I was asked to move my truck once although it was in my spot, that’s how crowded it can feel. The smaller your rig the better for this campsite. It is definitely capable of accommodating large motor homes and TTs but we went for walks each night and noticed a common trend- the larger your camper the smaller our site felt. Some people barley had room after their pop outs to enjoy their space in my opinion. We don’t have pop outs. I really thought we have the perfect sized TT for our space we got lucky on! It was the only space available for 2 nights when we were looking! Only 185 miles outside of Vegas so that was awesome! We ate at “The Spotted Dog”. It’s right across the street. I’m Vegetarian and the options for Meat and Veggie lovers are great! The service was excellent too! Pay the $35 for a week park pass!!! We drove the scenic route and it was breathtaking. 12 miles of scenic mountain driving and tunnels! Then back down. So beautiful. We will be back for sure! Has a park (small) and pool (small) but there’s so much more to do there than that! Enjoy a walk along the river at the camp ground! AT&T service was in n out but the park has wi-fi

One would expect with a group as large as ours that one of us would have a complaint of some kind. Not one. Checking in was easy. We had three RV's as part of the group to arrive first. Luckily there weren't any other RV's/trailers parked along the curb when you enter or else one of us would have been blocking the entrance. The location of the park is just a 1/2 mile from Zion NP visitor center. Easy walk or you can take the city shuttle. Because of COVID, the normal Springdale city shuttles weren't running. However, they have provided another free shuttle service to get place to place within Springdale. The shuttles have a "St. George Shuttles" logo on the side of them. Shower coins are provided to you at check in. They are good for 6 mins. I personally did not use the showers, but those in our group who did use them were very pleased. I did use the laundry room located at the hotel. $2 per load for the washer and $2 for the dryer. Plenty of washers/dryers and easy to use. All of the sites are gravel and level for the most part. There was only one site I saw where the tires of an RV that were slightly off the ground to be level. (34 ft. RV / site A12) I highly recommend this RV park and will definitely be back.

It is unacceptable that a prime location campgrounds are so poorly managed. There is trash literally everywhere you look. The camp was half empty but they lied to us that it's full and if we need move spots. They don't know where they put people and later would't admit they have done a mistake. The manager Felicia is completely unprofessional. She argues with clients, fights with them, talks over them and raises her voice. Do not expect any service there. Your trip will be ruined. Better stay away, be safe and book any other camp BUT Zion Canyon! We have stayed at Ponderosa and Zion River Resort and the difference is night and day!! The staff at the other two camps were hospitable, friendly and helpful through our entire stay. I truly hope Zion Canyon Campgrounds either goes out of business and makes room to a professional new owner to take over or changes management ASAP. I am surprised they haven't been shut down by the Health Department by now!! Stay safe you, all and hope our experience is helpful for your future plans! P:S: NO Wi-FI, no phone coverage!!

The access to Zion is great, especially having to get in line at 4am. The views around the park were fantastic and made better by the river access where we cooled off in the hot evenings. On the downside we were told there was a lightning strike that fried a lot of their WiFi and made it unreliable, we found that to be very true. The first day access was slow, the second day they were transitioning to the new system so WiFi was down, the third day the new system was up but not fully operational. Not the end of the world, but a bummer for sure. Staff did their best to give us different access points to try. Site is clean, showers are hot, plug ins worked as expected, and front desk service was very good. At one point we needed to repair a hole in our city water hose and they were quick to provide resources and tools. We will be back here for our next Zion trip.

Not very leveled, some spots are difficult to maneuver for newbies with motor homes over 34ft. Please do a walk through before taking a spot. In high season you might have neighbors fixing their ATV at 9:00 pm The check-in is ridiculous no place to stop with a large Rig and tow without blocking the entrance or parked cars. Obviously management prefers car-parking in front of their store front. Hookups: mist are 110v 15 and 30A, few spots are 50A, water pressure is good. sewer connection is always a surprise. Have some tools handy. Every spot has a grill and a fire place. However remember to get your own wood else you pay $6/small bundle of 1/2 h burning time. Spots are narrow and soil - keep your boots handy to walk through puddles.

They have a local bus stop right out infant of the office you can walk to for access to Zion as well. Wifi isn't amazing but works well enough for most activities. We have enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this site to anyone coming to Zion NP. Some of the back in areas could be difficult is you have a larger rv and people haven't parked all the way in their sites but everyone was accommodating and moved or helped out with everyone else. Only reason for not having 5 stars really would be our site had a lot of dog stuff everywhere which is the owner responsibility and also some of the firepits are in fixed locations which make it hard if you have a larger rig. Ours is basically covered by rear bumper so that we would fit and we had to move picnic tables so that we could reasonably get into our location. The view we had was fantastic take a look at the attached photo. No military discount

While the sites might not be particularly posh, the views all around the campground are simply stunning and we were thoroughly content during our lengthy stay.As for the actual sites, this is a standard commercial campground with minimal site separation. We lucked out with a very spacious end spot, but the majority of sites have minimal space between rigs. There is a fair amount of greenery throughout the campground which helped a bit, but overall, privacy wasn't great. There was a significant amount of inconsistency between the sites - as far as space and how level they were. The campground offered wifi which worked reasonably well as did our AT&T hotspot, though at certain times, both would become overwhelmed. As for location, you simply cannot find a better located campground outside the gates of Zion. The Springdale shuttle that picks folks up throughout Springdale and drives them to the front gate of the park does stop right in front of this campground, but we never used it, preferring to simply walk to the front gate. It's about a half mile between the campground and the Zion visitor's center, so it's super easy for most people to just walk. In the opposite direction is the town of Springdale which offers everything else you could need - grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. We basically walked everywhere throughout our visit. Customer service was efficient if not particularly friendly. They clearly churn through a ton of people at this place, but it was fine. You do have to pay a non-refundable first night's deposit at the time of booking which we think is pretty crappy, especially given the high price of the sites (ie: if you have to cancel at any time for any reason, you lose your deposit.)Overall, we were happy with this park and would stay here again on a return trip to Zion National Park.

When we got zero TV, I called the office and was told I had the wrong brand of television for their system! Excuse me? Their cable only works on certain televisions! Do they mention this on their website...NOPE! So stay somewhere cheaper. Sites are small, dusty and messy. Stay here if all you want is easy access to Zion! Forgot to mention that 6 minute showers that you get a token for are ridiculously stingy!

Mule deer were abundant. The campground is part of the Quality Inn and the pool was small and busy. The laundry was okay. The staff was okay. We checked in and never saw them again. Campers and tents rotated daily. Most spots had a different camper in it each day. But with that being said, it was tight, but surprisingly quiet.

It is walking distance (or free shuttle) to everything in Springdale. It was so nice to park once and not move for days. The campground is crowded and full of people who don’t know campground manners- but if you’re like us you won’t spend much time at the campground. There are a few RV spots (and a bunch of tent spots) that back up to the river- we requested one but alas they put us smack next to the playground instead where small children seemed to play and squee from 5 am to 11 am. There is no way to book a specific spot, you can just put requests in when you make reservations- I would assume everyone requests the river spots but hey maybe you’ll get lucky. The bathrooms were clean but smelled like a dentist office. The showers work on tokens- you get one token per person per night and each token gives you 6 minutes. Laundry was $2 for washers and $2 for dryers and was decent sized.WiFi in the campground was hit or miss- sometimes was super fast, sometimes slow, often got kicked off. AT&T showed full LTE in the campground and all of Springdale but also was sometimes fast and sometimes unusable. Our verizon hotspot worked the most consistentlyExcellent food right next door at Whiptail Grill and tasty gelato across the street at hoodoos

The location - right outside of the entrance to Zion National Park - was terrific. Nice tent sites. Good showers (you get a token for 6 minutes). Easy access and quick check in. The one down side is that the sites are very tight and each one has a fire pit. That makes for a lot of campfire smoke wafting about on warm evenings when you've got the windows open trying to catch a breeze. It seemed like every campsite was burning wood.Worse is that people nearby were throwing incense on their fire (?). As a result, I got terribly ill (severe dizziness, heart racing) and couldn't make it into the national park for the 2 days we were there. The wind shifted the second night and I felt well enough the next morning to take a quick shuttle tour before we had to check out, but it was disappointing.

We’ve used this park a couple of other times before though so we knew what we were getting for our money: location, location, location. It’s only about a half mile to the NP visitor center where you can catch the free park shuttle bus to go up canyon. The town of Springdale also runs a free shuttle to take you to the visitors center if you don’t want or aren’t able to walk that distance. It stops right next door to the campground. We asked for a site along the river and got one - management says they’ll do their best to honor requests for specific sites, but can’t guarantee it. The riverside sites are wide, but short so they aren’t suitable for really big rigs and they have electric and water but no sewer (there is a dump station though). Restrooms and showers were clean and the token system works fine. They give you one per person per day and you can always go to the office and request more if you need them.In our opinion, there are three downsides to this park (besides the price): indifferent management, rude fellow campers (be prepared for lots of people cutting through your campsite), and very close quarters with no privacy.Tip: to beat the crowds, get up early and take the first shuttle. The line to get on it later in the day was mind boggling long!

Our fire pit was about to fall over and was right next to the street. Overall, the park looked like it could use some attention with maintenance and upgrades. The back in sites right next to the river would be more desireable, but are hard to get. Like I said, it’s an RV Park....

The FREE Zion National Park shuttle stop is at the entrance to the RV park; the entrance to the National Park is less than a mile away. The park is large and easy to maneuver. The sites are generous and easy to park. Note, however, that you must stop at the entrance to the park to register and its a very busy area. If you have a larger/longer rig, be courteous to others and try not to block anyone. Registration was quick.

The river front sites only have water and electric and they are on the opposite side than most hook-ups. Thankfully, we had some extra long hoses and cords. The campgrounds are a bit rustic. As another reviewer stated the sites are a bit close together. The entrance to Zion National Park is about 1/2 a mile away and you can walk to most of Springdale. You can take the shuttle bus into Zion from near here. The one surprise here was when one of those Rotel (Rolling Hotel) buses showed up. They parked the bus next to the bathroom and it was hard to get into the bathrooms or showers without waiting and after they left there was no toilet paper left and the bathrooms needed cleaning. The people from the bus also would walk onto our campsite to look at the river. Thankfully, they were just there one night. They give you coins for 6 minute showers when you check in. As for cell reception, it varied, but overall it was rather good…2 bars of LTE on Verizon and 4G T-Mobile. During the day the Wifi was enough to work, at least most of the time. At nights, like most busy RV parks, you can forgot about trying to use it.Although we normally prefer to boondock, this has been a great basecamp for the area! We also stayed at the Zion River Resort about 14 miles further from Zion entrance. For me, even though I love heated pools (which the River Resort had), if I came back to stay at an RV park in the area, I’d go with Zion Canyon Campground. It cost less, has river views, better cell reception and Internet, is walking distance to town, and super close to Zion. Oh, and I forgot to mention the amazing canyon views!Be sure and visit the Koloab Canyons while you are in the area! Nearby (easy to walk to from campground) good eats:Whiptail Grill ~ Probably closest place to eat next to the campground. They make their own sauces and salad dressings. Despite its gas station-ish curb appeal, this is indeed a hidden gem. Probably the best food we had in the area!!Spotted Dog Cafe ~ $8.99 buffet breakfast, great to stop for a quick breakfast on the way to Zion. They also serve dinner. Cafe Soleil ~ Local and organic ingredients. Great place to pick up something on the way to Zion. Breakfast and Lunch.

The town shuttle stops at the entrance to the campground, and will take you all through Springdale or drop you off just outside the Zion entrance, or you can walk to the Zion entrance from the campground. Verizon and AT&T worked well. The sites are very tight, especially for big rigs with tow vehicles. We lucked out and were assigned to what was one of the biggest sites in the RV park (which was still pretty small). The Virgin River runs around the edge of the park, and just on the other side of the river is the national park's Watchman Campground, so campers from both parks lined the river daily swimming and relaxing. We swam our dog in the river during our walks to keep him cool (temperatures were in the 90's during our visit), and waded across the river ourselves. The location and river were the highlights for us. The site size was the big negative for us. We'd consider returning, but may instead try the adjacent National Park campground next time instead.

That's who. Firstly and foremostly, we're talking full hookups and cell service. So if the man is keeping you down and you need to work and make money, food on the table, baby needs a new pair of shoes sort of life this is the better bet. And though we had a fabulous view of the front of our neighbor's trailer--he liked to yell at his dog a lot, and his dog was apparently deaf--it was a bit awkward sharing a communal space with someone else. However, Zion's majesty does rise up directly behind the park, so lack in beauty this park is not. Also, I saw a killer painting of a tiger in the jungle and a rainbow over it all on another neighbor's rig. You don't see that just anywhere!I also love me some bar time, and this place is walking distance to a few restaurants and a brewery in particular, where Utah's 3.2ABV laws somehow don't apply. You can also grab the bus right out front and hit the park without finding a parking spot. I doubt your mother ever did that for your birthday. Did I mention the little river behind it all where you can tune down or frolic about in not too icy waters? If not, reread this paragraph. That is all!
