Oxbow is just south of the city of Payson at the end of a long road. It’s in a residential area so the street noise is practically nonexistent and it’s very quiet and clean. The whole park is gravel, which makes it a little dusty, but sites were level and all electric water and sewer hook ups were good. It doesn’t have a lot of amenities, but the peace and quiet was well worth it. we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anybody looking for a place for one to a couple of nights in Payson.

  • Overpriced, very tight spot, no cell service.

Although mostly negative this place has screaming wifi, free too. Having said that the spaces was so small I couldn't put out my awning if I wanted to, I would have hit my neighbor.Cell service is useless unless you walk up the hill, then Verizon will give you 1 maybe 2 bars. The park was surrounded by "beware of dog" signs and it was not comfortable walking my little dog on the street.Lastly the Passport America site said $20 for this location, when I looked at my credit card bill it was $27.32! She charged a $6 "electric fee!" plus tax. Never again.

Everyone there, the owners and the people who stay there were all very nice. It was nice and quiet, and very peaceful. Overall, the park was clean and well maintained. The owners were super nice and helpful. They have an issue with the water, so if you have dogs or kids, make sure you bring your own water, or you can find their reverse osmosis water in the club house. It costs $.50 a gallon and the machine only takes quarters. The clubhouse also has a tv, laundry facilities and a good sized library so you can exchange books. There is a nice Ramada in the middle of the park that has a metal corn hole game, picnic tables and grills. The sites each have a grill and/or fire pit. I believe all spots are full hook up. You share a picnic table between the sites. A lot of the sites are on the smaller side. Since we were traveling with another couple we were able to park in an ‘L’ formation which opened up the space a lot. The WiFi wasn’t good, and we don’t have a booster. They do have free cable, so that was a nice bonus. We were only a couple miles from down town Payson, and being it was the weekend, it was crowded and there was lots of traffic. We went to the Farmer’s market, but there was very little fruits and veggies for sale. There were some great local shops, so we were able to get homemade breads and cookies, popcorn and delicious frozen pastry meals.

Only real negative, besides the weak cell signal, is some of the sites are very narrow. Not much privacy. I stayed here in the winter so the park wasn't very full.

Also close to Lake Roosevelt, Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, Tonto National Monument. WiFi is not very usable but ATT is wonderful as a tower is about 1/4 mile away! About 1/2 mile away from the highway so it is very quiet. You go through a rural neighborhood to get to the park but don't let that deter you.
