The location in the Escalante is good, but the sites are jam-packed. Good communication via email prior to arrival. Full hookups, clean restrooms and walking distance to several restaurants and other services in Escalante. We especially liked the Mexican food truck at the entrance to the park.

I had high hopes considering the reviews, but other than the cute look when you first pull in this park was disappointing! We have a smallish rig and our site was a squished with no table ( or even room for a table !) . The only “view “ was of other trailers . We were going to stay longer but changed our minds . Would not stay again .

Strong wifi even out on the end spot.

I found this RV park on campendium. Very friendly staff over the phone and at checkin. I was in Spot 14 which is at the end. In my opinion one of the best spots of the park—you only have neighbors on one side. Unfortunately, my neighbors had a late checkin and made quite a bit of noise in the middle of the night on their arrival. The spots can be a little close together. I was in a campervan. The bathroom/laundry/shower facilities were all acceptably clean. I think the rv park has wifi, but I used my phone as a hotspot and was able to get some online school work done just fine. This park is small and quirky, but in a really good way! They have some cabin-like rentals in addition to tent camping spots which looked pretty neat from the outside. You can tell this park is either owned and operated by the same people or owned and ran by people who have a sense of pride in what they are doing. I would easily stay here again, hopefully next time with quieter neighbors. Thank you for the hospitality!

Bathrooms/showers were clean, campsite was pull-thru, but campsites very close together. I had to unhitch my pickup from my 19’ trailer, then park my pickup sideways in front of my trailer so that I was not blocking the narrow lane between rows of RVs. Escalante is very small town so businesses/eateries shut down early in evening. All in all, it was a very good experience, priced right, and I would definitely stay here again.

We left Moab because of the heat and discovered this park by accident. The best parts:1) They're right in town close to all the restaurants and shops2) Wifi: 30M download (we fulltime and work... this is amazing)3) It's really close to all the Escalante trails4) The sites are easy to get into5) It's a very quiet area and park

Cell signal was terrible (1-2 bars of Verizon but unusable speeds), but the RV park has fast wifi and a good number of local tv channels. Most of the businesses in town also have free wifi so getting online was never a problem. While the spots are fairly close together, they are all pull-throughs so we didn't have to do any crazy maneuvering to pull in. This being an RV Park, we weren't expecting a ton of space between the sites, but that being said, it didn't feel cramped. As for parking our truck, we did have to park it at an angle, but it fit just fine in the spot. There were a couple really big 5th wheels that didn't have enough space on their site to park their tow vehicle, but there are parking spaces in front of the laundry/bathroom building and next to the dumpster. The price was great as well, at $32/day with full hookups. If you're staying for a week, they have a weekly discount rate. There's a laundromat on site with 3 washing machines and 6 dryers. It's a bit pricey for the wash ($3.50 for the smaller machines $4.50 for the large), but again, not like this was unexpected being in a very small town, and you pay for the convenience. The laundry room was very clean and the bathrooms/showers are located in the building as well. While the laundry room is kept unlocked during the day, you need a key to access the bathrooms. They're also really close to the Visitor's Center and on the main street, so you're within walking distance to restaurants, a pub, and grocery store. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! It's a small RV park but very well maintained with trees next to each site, so it doesn't look like a barren gravel lot. There are also a few tent camping spots and 5 really cute cabins. They are pet friendly, providing potty bags, and the surrounding area was perfect to walk the dogs. There's even a rodeo close by! We stayed in spot #15 which is the closest to the entrance of the park and there was an unmarked space next to us which we realized is reserved for after-hours campers. It wasn't an issue at all, but we did have to deal with some noisy people who pulled in to the spot late one night... They apparently didn't know about camping etiquette and setting up quietly ???? All ended well though because they left in the morning after having a very noisy breakfast. Besides that, it was a peaceful, quiet stay.I fell in love with the town of Escalante. It has a small-town, eclectic vibe and locals are friendly. There's not a lot to do there in terms of night life (most places close by 9:00pm), but boy, you can't complain about the views of the mountains they have there! They also have some fantastic hiking trails and so much to do outdoors. Some eateries you can check out if you're ever in the area are: 4th West Pub: They have a decent selection of beer and wine, also serves tacos and paninis which are pretty tasty. They're also open past 9:00pm!Circle D Eatery: Great for a fancier meal. It's literally right next to Canyons of Escalante RV Park so you can just walk over.Escalante Outfitters: This is a quirky little place that's a combination of lodging, gear store, and pizza restaurant! The pizza is excellent. Nemos Drive Thru: They have decent burgers and fries. Also make milkshakes and malts!Escalante Mercantile and Natural Grocery: This place is really cute inside! They don't have a huge selection of groceries, but when we went, we got cheese, a loaf of bread from a local bakery, fresh organic arugula, and a delicious artichoke dip. They also serve coffee and have pastries. Blog post: https://www.travelswithletwinkie.com/blog/2018/7/30/grand-staircase-escalante-national-monument-calf-creek-falls-trail-devils-garden

It is next to a perfectly acceptable restaurant called the Circle D, although our favorite place to eat in Escalante was Escalante outfitters, which was a curious combination of a high end outdoor store and superb pizza. The Wi-Fi here was terrible. The sites are very close together and not level. The laundry room was expensive, and is apparently used by outsiders, although they have very large commercial units. Keys are required for the restrooms/showers, and they weren’t given to us at check-in. This is relatively small and compact park. One consequence of that is that there isn’t room to park the tow vehicle at the site. You have to find an empty spot around the perimeter of the park, which in our case was 20 feet from our camper, but the parking spot was not associated with the campsite, so we might have had to park anywhere.

Try Grand Staircase Resort (AKA: Escalante Cabins & RV Park) (www.grandstaircaseresort.com) this park has full hook-ups and easy pull through sites. The park is only one year old, so everything is new. Second is Shooting Star RV Resort (www.shootingstar-rvresort.com) again this rv park has easy pull through sites with full hook-ups and as a plus, a small drive-in movie screen in which they play movies two or three nights a week. Back to Canyons of Escalante RV Park. The sites are tight and small. I have a 24' travel trailer and it takes up every inch of our site (#4). The "tent only" area is just a dirt pad with tent sites 10' away from each other. There is no room to park your car/truck at your site. So folks tried to park in front of their trailer, only to have to move it when another trailer pulled in. I had to park in front of the laundry building. The Wi-Fi connection is fantastic, as is TV reception if that is your thing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but all in all, I would travel the extra mile and stay at one of the other RV Parks.

We paid a bit more for a larger pull through and still had to unhook to fit the truck in. The bathrooms are immaculate. Showers great with lots of hot water. The laundry is in the bathhouse and very clean and in great condition. The wifi is very fast. The Verizon service was intermittent but we are told that a new tower is nearly completed (you can see it from the campsites) and when it was working it was great. And then other times, calls dropped. The visitors center for the BLM, Interior and National Park (all in one building) is a walkable 1/2 mile from the campground. Easy to walk to town for groceries, pizza place, movie rentals and generally friendly and hospitable people. Couple of gas stations too. From town you have access to a small Petrified Forest, the formations of the Grand Staircase, Lower Falls at Calf Creek, the Anasazi Museum and Archeological Site (Boulder), and Bryce Canyon. From Escalante heading east to Boulder is just 28 miles BUT it will take about 45 minutes because the road is very windy and the scenery spectacular. Drive slow and enjoy. We will definitely be returning to the area.

We only stayed here because we needed to be in town for our photography workshop, otherwise we prefer to boondock at Hole in the rock, but this was a good experience! The wifi is actually very fast at 10-20mb/s consistently. AT&T is hit and miss in town, usually decent 4G with similar speeds to the wifi, but sometimes does not work at all. The $28 price is for full hookups which is quite a bargain.

They don't seem to be charging an exorbitant rate despite the fact that they are close to the only game going in the area. The gravel/dirt sites are VERY tight - no room for anything but the camper. The truck had to be separately parked off the camp road. There are a few trees so some of the sites have some shade. There seemed to be a few campers parked with no one at home the two days we were here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The showers/restrooms were very clean and fairly new. The laundry was also very clean, but was open to anyone, so I think it might get busy on weekends. The wifi worked well for us to browse (and write this review!) despite the campground being full. Cell service was terrible in the campground and all around town. At times we had 5 bars of ATT Extended, but could do nothing with it.
