You are in a city and next to the highway but the resort itself was very quiet. There were clean bathrooms and laundry, Convenient to the salt lake area and ski areas. We found the staff to be friendly. Propane on site. Overall a good stay

The manager was quite good but the other girl working there was possibly the least friendly and helpful person I’ve ever met, she was flat out rude actually. Loud highway noise too. On the upside there was a good dog exercise grassy area.

We stayed in pull-through full-hookup concrete pad site #170. Our electrical post stated that it is a "luxury" site. This description seemed to be overly generous, but the site was long and very level. Price was a little expensive at $63.00/night even with the Good Sam discount. Lots of long term residents around the perimeter of the park. We spoke to one of them and she was very nice. Clean bathrooms. Secured laundry room had quite a few machines and it was only $1.50 to dry. Free campground wifi was slow and intermittent. We decided not to use it after our VPN service was unable to connect at the site. No cable available but we were able to program 50+ crystal clear over the air TV channels. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and my wife's Verizon phone had 5 bars. Lots of DVDs available for checkout in the office. Campground is located in the city right off I-15, so there are many nearby grocery and restaurant options. Camping World is right down the road within walking distance. Spa and pool are currently unavailable. Road noise was quite loud.

Most of the sites have a shared area for you and the neig...moreThe staff was friendly, the common areas well maintained, and lots of trees, but the actual sites….. there are a small handful that provide a grassy area with patio table suitable for a family or for a couple that wants to be outdoors and perhaps BBQ, but they’re the exception. Most of the sites have a shared area for you and the neighboring guest. Picnic table, if you lucky enough to have it, about 15% of the sites don’t because they simply don’t have enough of them. Less than half of the shared spaces have grass at all – they’re rock! They are so narrow that your slides are reach closely together. The space we had required us to move the table because we could not walk past it with our slide extended. Your neighbor’s table is about 8 feet away from you (directly parallel to yours), so you’re dining with them if you both venture outside. There IS no space at all to put chairs, you CANNOT open your awning (not enough space), etc. So, if you enjoy the outdoors rather than sitting in your trailer/RV, you’re out of luck. If your rig has an outdoor kitchen or entertainment system, you will not be able to enjoy it/them. This campground is fine if your planning to visit the area, park your rig and leave all day, everyday seeing the sites, just terrible if you’re planning to spend anytime outside while at the park. The wifi is a joke, we were never able to connect. As I previously said, lots of trees, problem is the sites are so tight and the trees right on top of you that it’s practically impossible to get a satellite signal. It is adjacent to the highway, but surprisingly the noise isn’t bad if you’re not in the very front of the park. In summary, Despite the fact it is overpriced, since there aren’t many options around here (this is one of only two parks in this part of the valley) it fills up quickly. This review won’t stop that. We made our reservation 4 months in advance.

Stayed here for one night after I moved up here to Utah. The staff was nice, the site was fine, but the roads in between them are a bit small. The park itself is mainly full-time residents, and I think the price per night for what the park is is a little high. But the park as a whole did the trick.

We stayed for one night on our way home from Zion (class B campervan). The staff were friendly enough, except when reading us the 'rules' and emphasizing dire consequences if we did not comply; a bit too much. The park is very tight and noisy, right next to the freeway, primarily long term residents. Would not stay again.

There's a big difference between RV parks and mobile home parks. RV parks typically cater to short term vacationers or passers-through. Mobile home parks tend to lean toward the longer-term residential type environment. Mountain Shadows tries to marry the two, and it's awkward.When we first checked in Friday evening, the young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We were so excited to have found a RP park in town-a little "staycation" if you will. We got set up and quickly noticed that many of our neighbors appeared to be in for the long haul. And not too long after our arrival, the police paid a visit to one of the neighbors. That was a little unnerving. Later that evening, my son and I wanted to borrow some DVDs from the office so we walked down. The friendly face from a few hours earlier was gone and replaced with an extremely unpleasant, angry woman. She did not look up from her phone when we walked in the door and tossed it aside angrily when we came to the counter to check out our movies. She made sure to let us know a number of times that she was having a bad day and that things could not get any worse. She kept losing track of where she put things-dropping stacks of paper on the floor, tossing her pen in a frustrated manner and eventually throwing her hands up in the air and exclaiming "I give up!" We were very uncomfortable and felt like we were a burden to her.The next day, my son and I returned the DVDs and stayed to play pool-the first young lady was back, so we didn't feel to fearful of hanging around. Only one pool cue could be found, so we passed it back and forth. While we were there, we observed many interactions with guests and staff (the nice young lady and another young guy were manning the office that day). They were both very pleasant. Based on the conversations I heard, my theory about longer term residents was confirmed. Most everyone was there to pay their "rent" and talked to each other as regulars, not vacationers. On the plus side, it was very quiet both nights we were there. I'd imagine, since this is most of these people's homes, they don't prefer to stay up late socializing or throwing parties. However, the overall feeling of the place is dismal. I felt like I was intruding on people's lives by coming in for a short weekend stay.If you're looking for a spot to stay while traveling through, this may be a place to consider, but be aware of what the park really is. If you're cool with that, then you'll be just fine.

Very close to all amenities you could ever need. Hot tub in the office area is kind of a strange situation but was appreciated after full days in the mountains. Friendly and helpful staff.

Got stuck in SLC due to the snow in Wyoming. They put me in the overflow. Super sweet staff. A bit noisy due to the freeway but didn’t bother me. I would come here again

We sustained RV damage going through SLC so had to scramble to find a place to park to get repairs done. The park was full but did have openings at their "curbside" area- parked along the entrance road with water & electric hookup. The park was full but did have openings at their "curbside" area- parked along the entrance road with water & electric hookup. I can't complain about that (other than paying $30/nt. wth?!) because we appreciated a spot to park in a pinch, and the location was close to many places we needed to facilitate repairs. However, this park in general is SO BUSY! I was constantly amazed by the never-ending stream of cars driving in and out. Looking at the actual spots (most appear to be occupied by permanent residents), they are very tight and some don't seem to have enough room to park both your rig and your vehicle. We had to use their "guest" parking for our pickup and it barely fit in any of the spots (it's just a standard Ram 1500), and good luck finding a spot that's not reserved for some other specific purpose. The grounds and restroom & laundry facilities were clean and well maintained. However, as others have stated there is constant highway noise as this park is on a frontage road of I-15. I'm glad they could accommodate us in our emergency situation, but I would not choose to stay here otherwise.

The WIFI is completely useless. it would be 5 stars for us if the sites were a little wider. You do hear the interstate, but that is just part of being in the city.

We felt pr...moreThis is a paved, full hook-up park outside of Salt Lake City. Right off of the highway (and therefore also very close to the highway).I can't suggest staying at this park. Especially just for an overnight stop. Rigs that are only in town for the night are parked in the main entrance driveway - and charged you full price. We felt pretty bad for the folks who with this set-up, as the traffic in an out of the park is decently heavy. Our experience with management was poor. We don't typically have many 'run-ins' or 'needs' of management at most places, but we couldn't seem to stay away from the management here - needing to seek them out for various issues (i.e. the electric went out, our assigned space was not large enough). Unfortunately, our interactions with management were negative experiences, rather than 'okay, let's figure this out' experiences.This place is tight. As in sardines in the can tight. It's an older park, so we get it - but we had a tough time navigating our 40' rig (Yep, we're big. Yep, we were assured our size wasn't an issue) into our space. We ended up dragging our rear end (bottoming out) and digging up some asphalt while getting into our space (we really tried to avoid this). We weren't happy about it, but looking around we noted most every site had been scarred in this manner. If you can get past the cramped nature, cranky management (maybe they were just having a rough week), and constant highway whir, this isn't a horrible park location. It is also a clean park, and everything is paved. They did allow us to wash our rig on site, which was cool.
