The spaces are far enough apart and they face east so your rig will blocks the hot afternoon sun. Like all parks in Terlingua it is just a flat spot in the desert, so don't expect shade or grass at any of them. It is the closest to the park that you may not think is a big deal until you drive around the park for a couple days then you'll appreciate saving any miles you can. Now, it only has one bathroom which is nice with a great, always clean and has a rain head that at least makes you feel like all of the dust is washed off of you (news flash...you can never escape the dust!) but I bet it is an issue when the park is full. It also is not air conditioned so it gets HOT! The Little Dipper food truck out front is great too, we had breakfast burritos and biscuits every morning. I never meet Erica in the office but she was very responsive to my text and made it easy to reserve, check in and pay.

We stayed in the new section across the street, and the FHU, concrete patio and dirt pad were adequate for our needs. We patronized the food truck twice and enjoyed the tasty home-cooked food they served. Hosts were very helpful. Dark sky - amazing! Pet owners: The two negatives are completely out of the owners control and not a knock on the place, BUT I'm mentioning this to be upfront to people coming to this area. You are parked on the desert floor - dirt and dust everywhere. If you have a dog, then all that dirt is going to be tracked into the RV. There isn't a single patch of grass to walk them in, and a rattlesnake was recently in the area - we were warned about it.The second problem, the entire county and many other counties as well, lost power for about 14 hours. If you don't have a backup for powering your AC, the RV is going to be uncomfortably hot. The daytime temp hit 96 degrees (in March) and the power went out - we were at the Panther Junction area and our dogs were back in the camper. You need a backup source of power....Our solar panels and batteries kicked in and kept things cool - so keep that in mind if you travel with pets. If we were coming to this area again we would definitely stay here.

We had great dark skies right outside of our door, however we did get some light pollution from the streetlights and the cars traveling down the road.

But I wish I’d known before booking that there was a single restroom for the entire facility. It’s a single room with a shower, sink, and toilet. So if you’re taking a shower, no one can use the restroom! It made me uncomfortable taking a normal-length shower, knowing that I was blocking access to the only restroom. Also, it’s a rainshower-type shower head. And multiple times we went to the restroom, there was no toilet paper. This would all be a non-issue for people in larger RVs with bathrooms. Otherwise, super close to Big Bend. I was able to work using my ATT hotspot with no issues.

With the back unit working its little heart out it was still 100 degrees inside. I contacted the RV park owners to let us know we’d be leaving in the morning instead of staying another day as planned. They were already aware we had an AC problem because Chuck had tried to help us troubleshoot it the day before when it wasn't working very well. They said no problem with our leaving early, they would refund the pre-paid cost of the night. Then they gave us the combination to their office door which let us into an airconditioned space with a recliner, a sofa, and TV for the evening. They even offered the use of an unoccupied hotel room (no cost) if our RV didn’t cool down when the sun went down. We were WOWED! We took them up on the offer to use their office, the RV cooled down when the sun went down, we slept comfortably, and were on the road early the next morning. Thank you to Rosa and Chuck. You are the best!

Proximity to Big Bend is great as is the aesthetic quality of the single bathroom; however, that's most of the positives. The sites are close together with basically no privacy. While others have bragged about the Wi-Fi, it was absolutely horrible! Granted, our site was about as far away from the office as it could be, but over half the time - especially when the sites were all taken - we couldn't even get on line...much less stream tv. Without cable and no over the air television stations, streaming would have been our only option for TV. Tried to watch the National Championship, but it would not stream. I had promised my wife that she could log on and work at least a few hours a day, but that failed too. Other campers around us complained about the wi-fi as well - so it wasn't just us...it was bad!One reviewer had talked of the place's washer/dryer option (they said free too). This place did not have a washer/dryer for use by the campers, free or not. While the shower was very chic, the water was lukewarm at best (and I'm not even a fan of very hot water). Finally, the water pressure at the sites was very low (however, the water tasted fine).

When we returned we found out there was a mixup in the reservation and we did not have a spot. Chuck greeted us and was so kind and apologetic. He allowed us to park up front for the evening and even hooked us up to electricity, all for no fees. Rosa & Chuck went above and beyond to make sure our stay was good. They even allowed us to dump the next morning and refill our water. The icing on the cake is that their shower is like going to a spa. So beautiful and luxurious. It’s definitely by far the best shower we have ever seen In an RV park. Do not hesitate to book this RV park. It is a little pricier than the others but 1000% nicer in every way. I wish more RV parks were like this one.

There was also a rec room building with TV, fridge, coffee maker that we had access to. Would stay here again, however maybe not in the Texas summer heat.
