I came in after hours and they have a box with the reservations for the night, find yours and then find your spot on the map. Easy checkin. The rate of $47 includes tax

Great access to Big Bend, very accommodating. Checkin was easy, the town has all the basics (Pizza expensive lol). Great area, this park is the same as the 50$ parks all around. Will stay again

  • Good location to reach Big Bend and Big Bend Ranch Presidio Scenic Drive

Was not able to make local phone calls, kept reaching the wrong number like another country, very odd. Was able to call and receive out of area just fine. Had to stop by this place to make a reservation due to phone situation. Started at Maverick Golf Resort a little more expensive and further from Big Bend. Beth was very accommodating. CC payment comes with 5% additional fee. Pay with Cash or check - no fee. ****Good water is correct, tasted fine, BUT water pressure fluctuates and was off a couple of times on or visit. You may want to fill your tank for use while water is off, they had no idea when it would be back on, had to keep checking faucet. Quite location on Hwy 170 off the main Hwy118 to Big Bend. It is on the Hwy for Presidio Scenic Drive. Definitely worth the trip but don't bother going to Presidio, nothing to see there. The local store in town is very well stocked and maintained. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit and anything else you could want or need. Overall clean but there is a large back area that is like sort of a junk yard collection. Front camping area is fine enough. DOGS, We have one and wanted to be sure there were no roaming dogs. Beth does have of leash well behaved dogs and when I mentioned the need for my antisocial dog she was quick to confirm they would not be roaming the park. All was well.

Sewer hookups better than most private parks we've been too.Check-in was kind of weird, but not a big deal. We ended up next to the community fire pit and BBQ but nobody used it while we were there.

Finally someone answered and said, they’ll be full but we can pull in to a spot near the back. 20 minutes later....The road is slightly rutted, there seemed to be a pile of junk in the back. There was a pack of five dogs running off leash. We ended up leaving for Study Butte RV Park instead. Meanwhile, we passed BJ’s multiple times during our stay and the front pull throughs are all still available. No where near full! We’ve been to dozens of parks with self checkin and never had such issues. This was nutso!

I will start by agreeing with them on the interesting scenerio we encountered with the seasonal person. Almost everyday he sat outside with his rifle, claiming the rabbits were destroying his garden. However, to my knowledge he never did fire the gun. I think he was just showing off... the problem is, when you are paying to camp somewhere and you look out your back window and see someone sitting in their chair with a rifle, it's a little unnerving. And in my opinion, not necessary. The bathrooms/showers are clean, we did not use the showers. The laundry area is handy. I did use the washers and dryers. There are 2 of each. It was $2.50 per load, you do not load the change in the machines, there is a basket on the table where you put the money. So it really is an honor system. There is also a sign for a free clothesline, however it is behind site #2. So not easy to find. This is not a very big place. So when I called for our reservation I was told we would be put in the 'overflow' area because they were completely booked. The overflow area is new though, so all the hookups were new as well. Seems like everyone who checked in has had a different experience. Ours was pleasant. We were greeted by a polite man who brought out our paperwork and then told us where our site was. He met us over there and even helped guide us in. He wiped down the picnic table and told us if we needed anything at all to let him know. He came by and checked on us a couple of days later too. Our site had some gravel unlike our neighbors. It is very dusty, but it's the desert so I pretty much what I expected. We experienced very nice weather so we were able to be outside and enjoy the company of our neighbors. There were quite a few dogs running around the area. And thankfully oursomedayisnow cleaned up the poop near our trailer every morning. At night they would bark pretty loud, we assumed coyotes were near by. There is quite a bit of junk and machinery piled up on the back side where we were. But seeing that we were in the middle of nowhere, it wasn't surprising see it, just not the prettiest stuff to look at. The road that leads back to the 'overflow' area definitely needs some work. It was quite bumpy and could use some fill dirt. Our cell service was very good and their wifi was fairly strong.

  • Mixed feelings here, it's really a 2.5. I think

To keep things in perspective It's Terlingua, which is in the dusty desert and has cell service!. That already makes it suitable for our needs. There are about 20 spaces up front, and about 10 New spaces in the back area. All the power and water was recently put in, and we had no issues. it's all dust for now but the owner said she's trying to get gravel in soon. There are heaps of old machinery, cars/trucks and general yard stuff that is in your view, so not the best of scenic views from your site. There is a mobile home with 2 showers (we did not use, but they were clean). There were a few things that are happening that I'm not sure the owner is aware of . One of the snowbirds (i'm assuming) was sitting multiple times no more that 50 feet from us in his chair with his rifle waiting for hares to invade his cactus garden and bird feeders... we never heard any shots, but hey, it's not a rifle range, it's a RV Park, not very cool. There must be other ways to protect his precious cactus. I'm a 2nd amendment supporter, but this is not the place. The other thing is about 5 dogs running free, shitting all over the place...another not cool. We have dogs and are 100% responsible for picking up after ours, why is this even allowed, we had multiple shits in our space through the week. It is the closest park to The Starlight, and other shops in the Ghost town, a must visit in the area. Also a good place to site outside and view the stars, it's really dark there.
