There were lights in the camping area and I could see that most of the upper spaces were occupied but I chose an open spot. Entire area is gravel and spots were not marked but I could see an open pedestal so I pulled thru from back so it was on my driver's side. Full hookups at a great price. I walked around to find the pay box, not real obvious but there was a small covered picnic area near it. I felt safe, a good night's sleep. Never saw an attendant. Left after most all except the long-term campers and took my pictures. Close to I 40; Called ahead and was told how to pay and how much. No envelopes at station but I folded a piece of paper with my tag # on it and placed $25 cash in folded paper and placed in slot. The 3 stars is only because there's nothing around here and not very pretty but otherwise, great.

We arrived right at dusk needing a place to overnight with electricity to run the AC. The sites on the small hill were taken. The remaining sites in the lower row are very unlevel. Also the road is quite rutted as well as some of the sites. We were not able to level so could not extend our slides. The nightly rate is now $25.
Easy stopover, full hookups

We stopped here for a night on a cross country drive with our travel trailer. Plenty of spaces were open, but we did call ahead to check. $20 cash dropbox for full hookups, hard to beat that price! A little noisy with cars and trucks driving on the road but we slept fine. Would come back again.

Hookups are like the town of Shamrock itself, dated but functional. Phone instructions informed us to pick a site and drop $20 into the slot in the red concrete post. With no trees and only two long term trailers the site blends into the landscape with an endless view of the prairie and a windblown sunset visible to the horizon. As my friend Don says, “you have to stop and smell the tumbleweed.”
Great for a one night stay!

I called and got a recording that there were plenty of spots. About 1 mile off I-40. Basic gravel sites, pull thru, big rigs too. No trees, very simple. Some truck noise at 7:30 am. Restaurant next door was busy for supper and breakfast. Leave $20 in secure round mailbox. Nothing fancy, but easy!

After boondocking for 2 days, this was reprieve. Water, electricity and dump. Put your $20 inside a red mail box in the camp area. Maybe an envelope or stapled to a paper w your camp number. This was so quiet. Ate at the restaurant- no one wears masks. Everything was clean. Worth every penny.

The sites are plenty large enough we did not need to disconnect our toad. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant which was very friendly with average food and prices. The sites are not very level so setting jacks are necessary, and in a really heavy rain it seems like it could become a bit sloppy at these dirt sites. Overall this was a convenient overnight stop right off I-40. We will stay again.
