I was desperate to get a campground near Garner State Park. Garner is the most popular State Park in Texas, and with good reason. Who wouldn't want to be in the cool Frio River during the hot Texas summers. So, plan B comes into play. Thanks to Campendium, I could see what campgrounds are near Garner and Nana's had space available. At 60 bucks a night, I was having sticker shock, until I found the path down to the Frio, I wasn't sold. The access to the Frio made it all worth while. I didn't even check it out until after having a tour of Garner. We I walked down that path, it was a game changer. Our own private river access. Score! No hustle and bustle like Garner, just a calm walk down to the river. The vibe at Nana's was more like that of a state park: families out, friends hanging with each other under their awnings. A great time. I will say that site #12 was not the best, probably even the worst, based on the actual square footage. But, that said, it made little difference to our fun factor. The better sites are closer to the pathway. The hand drawn site map on the website was deceiving. Nonetheless, the staff was fantastic. The young lady at the office was top notch. The maintenance man had a four wheeler with a trailer to carry inner tubes and picnic tables to the river for you. Nice. There is a bath house available and full hook ups included in the price, so that was nice. Overall I say yes to Nana's.
