The view of the lake was spectacular and having a concrete pad made leveling our 32ft travel trailer a breeze. I will say there was definitely highway noise present, but I don’t recall ever noticing it while inside the camper. The pool/beach area was great/clean, pavilion and camp store were nice and had plenty of RV items, food, bait, etc. We don’t have a boat, but the marina was really nice. Everyone from campers to employees were nice and friendly, didn’t notice any issues with anyone breaking the quiet time rules. The owners even hosted a s’mores social by the beach/pavilion and had a scavenger hunt with an ice cream treat for kids who completed the hunt. The only thing I could think of to improve the sites would be to mow down the clover a little, to make the ant beds more easily visible (found a couple the hard way!). Otherwise we had a great little family getaway and would definitely recommend!

  • Adequate, clean and beautiful views.

It is your average RV park style - sites very close together with no shade or privacy on most of the sites. There are several permanent resident sites. The sites are paved with full hook ups and cable TV. The Wifi was not as advertised....it was slow and disconnected frequently - so working was impossible. The lake views are fantastic with beautiful sunsets. The amenities included a dog park, fishing area, restaurant, pool, play ground and marina. The bathhouse and laundry facilities were clean and convenient. The park is close to a highway and bridge over the lake so there is a bit of road noise. When reserving, select a site closer to the water - they are larger and more level. The farther away from the water, the smaller the sites and unleveled ground.

  • Outstanding place to stay!

Our site was concrete, level, and with all amenities. This park has Wi-Fi, but is a little slow for the type of resort. The bathhouses are modern, clean, and shower pressure delicious! The campground has a restaurant, a marina, laundry, a mini store, game room, and clubhouse. They have propane service. There is absolutely no shade, no tree cover, but the sites come with a picnic table, and fire ring. There are restaurants, gas station, and major stores in the area. Several State Parks including Livingston Lake State park. Some traffic noise can be heard, but not excessive.

Normally I do not consider KOAs as a destination site. Usually KOAs are a safe place to stop on the way to somewhere. This is one we will choose to go back to in the future. We were at Lake Livingston State Park prior to our arrival here, and I must say that although both parks are on the same lake, our experience was entirely different. I am surprised by how much we love this park. Although it is an RV park setting, the view of the lake in our campsite is wonderful. We are elevated with a great lake view and there are trees to our north that block the wind. It is April and there are no bugs. At the state park we were overcome by mosquitos and caterpillars, but here...not at all. This is not a huge KOA, but very clean and well maintained. Hook ups all in working order, small laundry room, beach access, marina with boat rentals and a hot tub and unheated pool. There is a great restaurant (not related to the campground) on the property. There is highway noise. This is a great place if you want all the amenities and lake access without the bugs. It's not cheap but was just what we need for the weekend. Grocery store and gas is just up the road, but nothing much else around.
