Freezing cold and so slippery that it is unusable and a real safety hazard! I expected more from someone who bills themselves as a top notch "Resort". There are even signs posted with regards to the slippery nature of the pool. Needed two planks to level the RV in the site. The site was huge though.Good access to Big Bend Ranch State Park.Terrible local grocery store unless you only want beer, snack food, or some bread. The bread was great! Fruit and vegetable section was about six items. Much better grocery store down the road in Terlingua. Here are a few other side notes:1) I called the restaurant to make a reservation. No return call.2) I called the resort to enquire about an early check in. Yup, no return call.3) I find it offensive that a symbol of slavery from the Civil War is prominently displayed at the golf course. Really, a statue of General Robert E. Lee? You have got to be kidding me. How insensitive is the ownership group at this facility. No surprise, but I will not be returning for this reason. Like I said, at least the RV park was nice!

Affordable. All utilities worked, though there were a few power surges (likely due to a few storms in the area). Wi-Fi was blazing fast, exceeding 60Mbps down and 20Mbps up. Highly recommended.

Great location between parks. Access to the golf resort, restaurant, all resort facilities which are top notch is included in daily rate. Hiking trails, or just about any other activity I can think of is available along with partnerships with local desert sports outfits. Well maintained, not too noisy, friendly. You can't go wrong.

Our site (#94) was on the end of a row and had a shade tree, which many sites do not. There are several trails that leave right from the campground. The campground is part of the 27,000-acre Lajitas Golf Resort, with all resort amenities available to RVers. The fiber optic Internet ROCKS! We had just one bar of AT&T cellular but could easily make and receive phone calls using WiFi calling. Streaming was a breeze on our smart TV. NO buffering! Visitors can board their horse(s) at the resort equestrian center, if needed. If you're not a golfer but would still like to see the course and its scenery, you can rent a golf cart from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on weekdays for $25/person. It took us over an hour just to drive the course, and we felt it was well worth the time and money. The Lajitas store is part of the resort; and while things are kind of pricey, it is well stocked and a good resource if you need something. This campground is conveniently located between the state park and the national park. The laundry area is clean, air conditioned; and all washers and dryers worked ($2/washer, $2/dryer/ $1.25 Tide). If your dates are flexible, plan your visit during the new moon so the stars are more visible. It is a Dark Skies area. We will definitely stay here again when we return on a future visit. Tips: (1) If you plan to visit Big Bend National Park, the fuel in the park was $1/gallon cheaper than at the resort store. (2) This entire area is in the Central time zone, even though AT&T changed all of our devices to Mountain time. We had to manually change all of our Apple devices.

We will be staying here again. Nice laundry facilities, and a great dog park.

The property is under new ownership, and it looks like it is translating to a better experience. I love that access to the hotel property. The backdrop is amazing with some of my favorite RVing views. There are few spots that don’t have mountain views. The pool area is great during the summer time. There are hiking trails right at the edge of the park. The seclusion from everything else is a massive bonus. We ate at the Resturant, and they’ve really upped their game. It used to be so so, and now it is really good. We enjoyed all of our meals. It really is a stellar property. My only complaint is poor WiFi. We would have stayed there for a week or more and will in the future if the WIFI gets better.

The WiFi was marginal at best, but they are currently installing fiber optic, so hopefully it will get much better. Cell signal was 1-3 bars 3G (AT&T). When the park filled up, both WiFi and cellular was pretty non-responsive. There were no OTA TV channels and only some sites had cable, which our site (#83) was not. Friendly front-office staff. You could also take part in the golf resort facilities, i.e., golfing, restaurant, bar, gift shop, spa, and zip line. We enjoyed a nice meal in the main restaurant. We had a spot on the outside and our back window faced out to the mountains behind us. The view was incredible! The only downfall, it’s a drive to get into Big Bend. It took us 1 hour 20 minutes to get to Boquillas (opposite end of the park). After three days of back and forth trips, it got a little tiring. Too much time in the truck. I think if we would have stayed an extra day or two where we just stayed put for the day instead of heading to the park it would have been better for.

Cell signal is weak (at best- AT&T on MoFi router was 5 download/ 2.2 upload/ 203ms ping) Good: The resort feels like an oasis in the desert. The restaurants on property are fantastic. We did several of the activities as well. We rented a Jeep for the day to explore the back roads of Big Bend. Prices were reasonable, under $200. We did the trail ride with our kid. The staff throughout the park were gracious and kind. We also did the combat course and loved it! To escape the heat we spent time in the excellent pool near the RV park as well as the comfortable club house with leather lounge chairs. The WIFI at the park was strong enough to work with video conferencing. (20 download/ 4.6 upload/ 70ms ping) There is also a business center in the main resort that has excellent internet with printer access. In the gas station on property you can reserve a pack lunch for the day at any pick up time. We could request our lunches be ready on our drive out to Big Bend and just pick it up on the way out. Super convenient! The spots are big with full hook ups. The park is a "dark" park so the stars at night are amazing!

The RV park features widely spaced full hookup sites, mostly pull-through, situated head-to-tail. Only 24 of the sites have cable and the Wi-Fi is iffy, but the location and its surroundings more than makes up for the lack of digital entertainment. There isn't much shade (it's the desert after all), but the views of the surrounding hills are splendid. We had a site towards the back for the campground and it was super quiet. For dining experiences you can walk across the street to the Lajitas Ranch or drive 12 miles to the kitschy 'Starlight Theatre' restaurant in Terlingua Ghost Town (don't miss it!). The RV park has excellent laundry facilities, clubhouse and swimming pool, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is a Dark Sky area and the night skies are absolutely stunning. We were there during a very windy period (even the locals commented on the extraordinary weather), but it didn't spoil our total enjoyment of this wonderfully remote part of Texas. We will be back!

Meanwhile, you also have access to full hookups, wi fi, a pool, laundry, beautiful bath house, and resort amenities, gym, store, and restaurant. It’s amazing that this is the most remote place we’ve ever stayed, but also one of the most comfortable and full-service.You could get something a little cheaper in Terlingua, but it’s not that much more to stay here and have a first class stay in Big Bend. Our stay was cheaper (39/night) with weekly & AAA discounts.15-20 minutes to restaurants in Terlingua30-40 minutes to Big Bend NP gate, 55 to Panther JunctionRight next to the Big Bend Ranch SP entranceParts of the park are very parking lot-y, but request a back in site in the back row (the side book ended with 7 & 41) for amazing views & privacy. One of the most underrated features of this park is its proximity to Big Bend Ranch SP. Don’t miss the opportunity for a scenic drive and hike in this park that is as beautiful as the NP, with far less people. We chose this RV park primarily so we could continue to work during our visit. Getting good wi fi anywhere in Big Bend is hard but it was workable here. The wi fi is bad when the park is busy, and pretty unusable starting at 4PM daily, when people come back for the night. But we were able to work on the wi fi during the day, it just wasn’t the fastest & very low upload speeds. If it got really bad we had the option of going up to the resort where it was a bit better. We didn’t use our Verizon hotspot as we could sometimes get a little 3G extended network roaming, but no Verizon or LTE.

The campground itself had everything you could want right onsite.Laundry, restaurants, a bar, various shops, etc.The activities through the resort are expensive but a lot of fun. They have horseback riding, zip lines, shooting, and the golf course was out of this world. You have to at least play 9 holes even if you hate golf. The drive through the course on the golf cart was an experience itself with the hills and never ending views. If you're into mountain biking you're in heaven here. There's a bunch of trails behind the visitor center 2 miles from the campground. 1 of my favorite things here was the Contrabando movie set so check that out if you want a great place to have a picnic and bask in the beauty of the Rio Grande river.I will forever have a place in my heart with the great memories I have from staying here. I don't give a lot of 5s on my reviews. This is a 5 all day.I drove past the other RV parks in the area. Don't even bother with them if you're on the fence. They can't even compare to this place.Site accessibility (Roads in are good but hilly. Sites are easy to navigate) - 5Campground location (Perfect location to see Big Bend state and National parks. Views from the sites were awesome) - 5Nearby amenities (Local general store is overpriced. Cottonwood grocery not far) - 4Site Privacy (A little close together but typical for a private park) - 4Campground amenities (Bathrooms were great. Private rooms for toilet/shower. Laundry was clean. Restaurants onsite) - 5Dog friendly (A lot of areas around camp to walk to pooches. The parks were not dog friendly) - 5Activities (Tons of activities onsite. Great hiking and mountain biking accessible from site) - 5Cost (A little high but for what you get, it was worth it) - 5Staff friendliness (staff was very nice) - 5Connectivity (Wifi at campground was usable for web. Cell was 3G and usable for voice. No OTA. Some campsites have cable) - 4Total rating = 4.7

The office staff was most helpful, the facility was clean and well maintained, and the view was nice for being a commercial RV park. Our site was roomy, with about 40 feet between us and our neighbor (on the curb side). We would have shared a utility post with our street side neighbors, had there been one. There is a store with a gas pump in Lajitas, but it is expensive and only has regular. You are better off to drive to Terlingua. While they advertise lights out at 11:00 pm, they still had lights on for the bathroom area, so it somewhat ruined the star viewing.Verizon is only 3G, so it is OK for calling, but not great for data. And while we were located near the WiFi point, it was spotty at best. This is one area where they could really stand an upgrade.

Lajitas was bought by a resort so it really isn't a town. It has a couple of restaurants, boutique shops, general store, small gas station, and a golf course. Don't expect to find a grocery store nearby. We had a pretty large site since we were at the end of a row and the park was mostly deserted in December. The other spaces look large but you share camping sides with your neighbor (alternate direction parking). The roads inside the park are wide an easy to maneuver. This is a dark night area so they ask all outside lights are turned off by 9pm. Wifi was adequate, but there were only a dozen RVs in the park. There is no native AT&T or Verizon, but "extended" roaming is available. We didn't realize what that meant so by our second day our AT&T phones notified us that we'd used up our very small "extended area" data allotment for the month and our phones became useless for data. Verizon does not have such limits fortunately. The club house has a nice community room, TV area, and clean bathrooms. The swimming pool looked nice and clean but as it was December we did not swim. The office staff was friendly and very helpful. The RV Park is clean and feels very open, and we found plenty of places to walk and hike with our dogs. There are not a lot of trees so it may get pretty hot in the summer. We did see a coyote and javelina at the edge of the campground while we were here. We would stay here again.

There is a nice pool, laundry, private showers, dogs are allowed on leash/tether, decent Wi-Fi, and we had access to all activities and ammentities of the golf resort. It was very convenient to be close to both Big Bend State and National Parks. One downside: during the Chili Cookoff, they open the shower facilities to the cookoff campers. It was almost impossible to use the showers during that weekend.

Lajitas itself is not really a town -- it's just the resort. The RV park is very big and has amazing, beautiful views from every site. Very quite, clean park with a good number of trees. Mavericks has by far the nicest community center and pool I have ever seen at an RV resort. We were here in the high heat of the summer, so having the pool was clutch and really enjoyable. There is a great convenience store down the road that has a pretty decent selection, including a small amount of organic produce and organic milk. As guests of the RV resort, you can also access the fitness center, restaurants, golf, and other great parts of the bigger resort. The free wifi had an OK signal but could have been better - that's my only complaint!
