High Island RV Park is where you want to stay if you are coming for the bird migration. No other park in this area can compare. The sites are very narrow but everything else is in working order and are neat and clean. Excellent laundry and bath facilities, free ice, excellent WIFI. Walking distance to great Audubon birding sites. ...moreHigh Island RV Park is where you want to stay if you are coming for the bird migration. No other park in this area can compare. The sites are very narrow but everything else is in working order and are neat and clean. Excellent laundry and bath facilities, free ice, excellent WIFI. Walking distance to great Audubon birding sites. Visit with other birders about the best sightings of the day. Bring food, distant stores and no restaurants.

Stayed here even though there were several areas within 15 miles that offered free camping on the beach. Very friendly atmosphere with guests and staff, facilities were clean and homey. Bird sanctuaries within walking distance and the beach is about 3/4 mile away for a walk on a nice day. The bottom fell out of the weather and so we...moreStayed here even though there were several areas within 15 miles that offered free camping on the beach. Very friendly atmosphere with guests and staff, facilities were clean and homey. Bird sanctuaries within walking distance and the beach is about 3/4 mile away for a walk on a nice day. The bottom fell out of the weather and so we are abandoning Texas and headed back east towards warmth and out of the freezing temps.

Great place to stay. It is very well maintained. It has laundry facilities and a bathroom with a shower. Although I did not use the shower since I have one in fifth wheel. Sites are nice and large. And far enough away from other RVs that you arent on top of each other. Management was very helpful and accommodating. They do acce...moreGreat place to stay. It is very well maintained. It has laundry facilities and a bathroom with a shower. Although I did not use the shower since I have one in fifth wheel. Sites are nice and large. And far enough away from other RVs that you arent on top of each other. Management was very helpful and accommodating. They do accept amazon packages at no additional charge and even brought them to my RV. Only drawbacks were no area to walk my dogs and not a lot to do on High Island. Closest bigger town is about 30 min away but does have several grocery stores and restaurants.

We only stayed here one night but everyone was very friendly. They have a lot of regulars but plenty of room for road trippers as well. The sites are all big and I think all were pull through. They have a laundry and a single shower/bathroom available. Water pressure could have been better but the temperature was nice. If you are a birder this is the place for you. There are two bird sanctuary's in the community and the Anahuac Sanctuary 20 minutes or so down the street. The ocean is about a mile down the street but parking is not great. The campground is easy to find and easy to park your rig. Any RV can fit in the spaces.
