Signal in the state park was spotty to non-existent, so we drove up to Oakdale Park to see if they had any vacancies. It was Halloween night, and a Sunday, so the park had plenty of vacancies. We booked a site online, found it on the map, and like that we had a full hookup base camp! It's just off of the US highway that runs through town so was very quiet, had plenty of mature trees to shade us, and three bath houses. I wish we had been able to stay longer, and during warmer weather, in order to take advantage of the huge pool. I will certainly visit Oakdale Park again when in the area! Note: since we booked after hours, we had to call the number posted by the map to get the bathroom code and WiFi password.

Very nice and well kept park near the river and downtown area. But there were stickers in the grassy areas. WiFi was flaky, but we don't go camping for the WiFi do we. All staff we met were polite and friendly.

  • Must be under new management.

A lot of the park rules are not posted, like the pool closing at 5 pm for private lessons. The pool does stay open later on Thursday thru Saturday. The suction filters must be undersized for the "largest pool in a RV park in Texas". Leaves and bugs everywhere. The river is close by and a heck of a lot more fun.

The site I chose was one of their nicer sites (#29) according to the lady at the front desk. Once I pulled into the site I realized why upon set up, I didn’t have to level, the site was already leveled and the picnic table area was a bigger space compared to other since the site was at the end of the road. Personally the pool area was not an option for us to go to due to only getting 2 wrist bands included in the price for the site. And any additional wrist bands needed had a $10 charge for each. (Needed an additional 3 for my family) we decided to just go to the river which was literally across the street in walking distance from the RV park and there was no charge for that.

This place is awesome! Lots to do and the staff is very friendly. The sites are a bit close together but we didn’t mind it, we had a shade tree next to our site which was nice. We will definitely stay here again!!

There is a mix of RV Sites, Stone cabins and later wooden cabins. Restrooms are spotless. All sites are FHU. They have three rates based on which section of the park you are in. Smaller units to large pull thrus. $25, $30 and $35 FHU 20/30/50amp at all spots. And the WiFi, serious speed 25mbps + during the week. Might be slower when the park is full. And then there is the pool. Seriously this pool is a thing of beauty. Classic style with a center fountain from a bygone era.Staff is marvelous. Passport America on Sun-Thur nite.Great place for a bike ride and strolling the shops in the downtown square.Sun-Thur you should have no problem getting a spot. Reservations suggested on the weekends.
