We thought the park was well taken care of and had some good amenities. I did find it a little weird that you had to go all the way down to the very end of the park to turn around. This just seemed like you were opened up for more potential for a kid to dart out in from of you. Given the lay of the land, there really isnt much they could have done different with that, so just take it slow and beware. The canal was nice for fishing although I only caught 2 fish (I didn't have high expectations). The park was still very busy that weekend, even for the time of year. They had a little two man band show one after noon and we really enjoyed that. They had a RV detailing service company going around detailing RV's. This was an outside company that they allowed to come in. The prices were fair so we did have our rig wash/waxed. The park is a little bit of a pain to get to and there isn't much around. But sometimes you just need to get away and that's exactly what you need, no outside distractions.

The store inside was a bit thin on supplies but we visited early in the season so perhaps that's why. The beautiful restaurant inside the main building was unfortunately closed, presumably since the covid shutdown. There was a food truck onsite but it was only opened one of the four days we were there. The food was good, the buttermilk pecan pie AWESOME. It perhaps might be a little pricey to some but that's the cost of having the truck located onsite. The owners of the food truck were incredibly nice people and a compliment to the park. There was an additional activity building with a large laundry room located adjacent to the pool, which unfortunately was not heated so with the late spring chill that came through Texas, it was unusable. The park itself is very well laid out and clean with plenty of space between sites and excellent hookups (minus the corroded cable hookup that we didn't use); however, there is NOTHING nearby. It's about 30 miles north to Galveston or 25 miles south to Lake Jackson if you want to find some decent restaurants or activities. This wouldn't be so bad if the park was located on a beautiful stretch of Gulf of Mexico beach; however it isn't. The beach had lots of trash all over - some washed up, some blown on. It is sad that visitors and locals don't have more pride and respect for this gift of nature. All things considered, this is a decent place to go if you want to be away from amenities and you like fishing or kayaking, as the park has it's own canal for these activities, but it really isn't a beach destination. The last thing worth mentioning is that every direction looking landward has a clear view of the abundant chemical plants and some of their stacks spew quite a bit of smoke. As beautiful as the Blue Water RV park was, I don't ever see us returning to this part of Texas. We camped at Blue Water RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We absolutely fell in love with the RV Resort. I love the concrete campsites and love being just a cross a two lane road from the beach. FYI…bring extra sewer hose because the sewer hook up is kinda far from the sewer connection on camper. There is a great food truck on site. I wish we could stay longer.

This is a great family park with lots of young and older families (like us kids in their 20s). Pool was super clean and the restrooms and showers were the cleanest we have seen in a long time. The beach was just a quick golf cart ride across blue water hey and is pretty much empty. Now this is south of Galveston so the water is pretty silty and brown because of the rivers and the current but we still had fun. Now there is wetlands on both sides of this park so be ready for the bugs, the mosquitoes were pretty bad. There use to be a restaurant and bar onsite but was informed on arrival that it has been closed. There are food trucks that come by on weekends, at least the weekend we were there so that is something but we were a little disappointed as that was a deciding point to stay here versus go back to one of the parks we stay at in Galveston. Had great cell service on att had 4 bars of 5G as was streaming 4K movies through my phone hotspot

They help you back in (we had an ocean view site) and that's good because it was a really tight fit that required considerable maneuvering to avoid a palm tree and other parked cars. The Beach is right across a two lane road that isn't very busy. The campground, as you can tell from the map, is long and deep so many people here have or rent golf carts. We spent our money on a front site instead of a cart but that put us a long way from the pool :-).The staff is super nice and helpful. We had never been to this area of the Gulf and were surprised that the beach is brown, the water is brown, and because it's way away from other development it doesn't appear that the beach is cleaned very often if at all - there was a significant amount of trash and seaweed. I don't think that campers are littering - most of this looks like it washed ashore. For someone used to the white sand beaches of Florida and most of the east coast this was a bit of a shock. So, the Good News: it's a very private and wide open beach. But know that you're a long way from any other resources, restaurants or entertainment. So basically, this is a five star campground but the area and the beach caused it to loose one star in my personal preference system.
Well kept site, best for class A campers.

Bathrooms and showers were clean. **Keep in mind if you aren’t fully self contained that the only bathroom available at night is in the pool house halfway down the drive. About a 10 minute walk from the entrance. Like we said this is probably best suited for nice looking, bigger rigs. We saw a Casita there but our pop up was dwarfed by the huge Class A’s all around us. Fumes and generator noise (despite available shore power) around the clock! We hate to knock the place. We could see a certain type of traveler enjoying this place a lot but it was not for us. We stayed at a state park on the way home for $20 a night with power and felt way more comfortable. We felt a little uncomfortable by the “rules” such as no ugly campers, no appliances outside (we like to cook outside) and no drying towels/swimsuits outside. Again, if you’re in a large rig these were probably less of a concern but being in a small, old, pop up we felt limited. **The staff were helpful and never said a thing about us cooking outside or drying towels. On the way down we passed many rigs boondocking on the beach for free and that will be what we do next time we visit the gulf. Check out our blog for the story ok this trip! www.EZAdventure.World

Blue Water RV Resort is a great place to visit. The canal views are amazing and offer fishing and kayaking right from the back of your rv. The resort offers private beach access and a restaurant and bar.

Given the Covid 19 considerations we didn’t get to experience all that the park has to offer but sites are fairly roomy, big rig accessible, perfectly level and spotlessly clean. All utilities, including wi fi, worked as expected with the exception of the cable TV. It gave us a fuzzy picture but on air TV from Houston/Galveston gave us about 70 channels. Our site included a semi private fishing pier. The fishing was lousy but the piers were nice. If you’re into surf casting the beach is just across the road with nice boardwalk access. This place actually justifies the title of RV Resort and we are already planning to come back in the fall to spend a week.
