It was advertised as having access to resort amenities. It was over 95 degrees and we were told to beware of swimming around the dock because of snakes. We swam in the resort pool, which was lovely & empty. After hiking, we went back to swim and we’re told that the pool was only for guests staying in cabins. RV guests were not allowed. The person told us this in front of the children. When my husband visited the gift shop to buy bottled water ($3 per bottle), he complained about the way we we’re treated & the absurdity. Then he checked the pool. Still empty. So…what amenities were we getting? The option to buy $3 bottled water? Poor customer relations, to be sure.

The bathroom was nearby with small, individual rooms each with shower, toilet and sink. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. A great place to get away!

The resort did a great job of managing social distancing (occupying every other slip, partial closures, take from resort restaurant) and all the other requisite protocols. Didn’t have access to full amenities due to restrictions but that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time. Kids on their bikes, nature hikes, lakeside wading, campfires, etc. We will definitely be back. NOTE: the campground doesn’t have Wi-Fi, but the resort area does.

This park is pretty, aesthetically pleasing but that's where the charm ends. This park is run by a resort "company" called Caliber. No matter where you stay in the park, you are charged a $6.00 per person, per day "resort users fee", plus Texas state sales tax on each charge. They don't tell you this when you make a reservation. When we checked out we also were charged a $6.00 plus tax, reservation fee. When I asked what that was for, the clerk stated, "for making a reservation". This is on top of an unusually high camp site rate of $49.00 per night. This organization is gouging the public for every penny they can. The restaurant is extremely expensive and so understaffed you have to make a reservation and they won't serve you or seat you if you arrive early. They have 2 waitresses to cover the entire restaurant. There is NOTHING upscale about this restaurant. The waitresses are FULL of attitude and not friendly at all. The restrooms in the RV area are woefully old and outdated. There is nothing to stand on in the shower, there is nothing to sit on or put your clothing on. The door on the one that I was using was rotted at the bottom and nothing to prevent animals, bugs, etc... from setting up shop. On top of all this, the plumbing is equally outdated and I wound up taking a COLD shower. There was no hot water. I would not recommend this campground to anyone, it was truly a frustrating and awful experience!

Busy place. Lots of RV traffic but friendly and little/no noise. Reliable hookups. WiFi at main buildings. Decent cell service. The activities were perfect for us, hiking, sight seeing and photography. Take boat tour; it was great!!
