The proximity to the highway was just what I needed and the area has every brand/car wash/supermarket you could need within a few miles of the campground.Lots of dogs being walked in the morning, afternoon and evenings so I'm guessing quite pet-friendly.Of my trip so far, I enjoyed this campground the most as it was very good in all areas with no real weaknesses (proximity/noise of highway if being picky), for my type of travel and in my opinion.

This KOA has everything you could need / want.....Great location next to Colorado River. Good WiFi and cell coverage (VZ). Road noise is high, but not terrible. Fan on in coach and slept right through freeway sounds overnight. We got to enjoy the state parks nearby as well as the growing towns of Bastrop and Smithville.

Paved spots with grass all around. Very clean and well kept. Nice playground and large picnic area near the river, beautiful for sure. The town of Bastrop at first appears to just be a massive sprawling strip mall, but the historic downtown is cute. The KOA is right next to Highway 71, so it's pretty noisy. On the other hand, my 4 year old learned to ride a pedal bike here so it'll always have a soft spot for me! If you are not me, which I don't believe you are, results may vary.
