We absolutely love this place! It was recommended and did not disappoint! Spacious, lots of wildlife and nature, walk to the Medina River. We stayed for 5 mos. Lots of activities during the winter; friendly campers and Bandera is a great town!

Apparently there was a blight that killed the majority of the trees and left the remainder in a world of hurt. This place is OK if you want to camp in the sunshine, have limited things to do at the campground, and pay by the day. If you leave early they do not return any of your advance payment. This place is OK if you want to camp in the sunshine, have limited things to do at the campground, and pay by the day. If you leave early they do not return any of your advance payment. Other than that, the place is clean and in good repair but there is a better place just down the road for a better price.

We could not walk outside without our shoes getting embedded with them and our poor Cocker Spaniel could not even walk. We would have to carry her to the road to do her business, it was pitiful! Other than that, it is a wonderful park with large spaces and a beautiful walk down to the river. We were at the back section of the park, so we did not have a problem with any noise from the highway. The only other downfall was that their wifi was very poor and could not access the internet unless I used the data from my phone. That is not a major concern though because many parks that we stay in advertise free wifi, but have very poor access.

  • Uninspiring.

We stayed here in January 2015 with Escapees. We had a dirt pull thru spot. Might have been gravel one upon a time. The staff was okay, but not exceptional. Escapees picked it because it big, cheap and has a big rec hall. All true. It's on the highway and we could hear trucks all night.
