We were quite long for the site so we had to drop a trailer in front of that they were accommodating given that it was off-season. The long term guests were so sweet. Management is a bit corporate considering the customer base and time of year but nice just the same. For being stuck over my birthday, it was a great stay!

Price reflects a back-in, FHU site with a cement patio on volcanic rock. Many amenities offered for all levels of interest. Laundry was modern and clean with an attendant during the day. Bathrooms were also clean but for this high-quality resort, there were no hooks to hang clothing and water temps were difficult to regulate. Park wi-fi was adequate and we enjoyed superior Verizon and adequate AT&T cell service. Some highway noise and frequent jet/helicopter flyovers from nearby Marine base. For us, this was a nice place to visit for a few nights but I don't think I'd live here long term.

The check in for short term is quite bureaucratic 3-4 signatures, 8-10 initial heres. When asked for a location change after checking in the security escort checked by walkie talkie and was given a loud response of "I don't think so they are only here for one night". For such a high end resort this was a really negative response. The park is well appointed and new, the lots for the most part are plain gravel with concrete pads., no landscaping except for owners or permanent residents, all in all quite austere. The facilities are first class and new but with the other strikes I will not be recommending short term visits. The other negative observation is there is no dump station for the casual user, a minor thing but with such a big build up you would think this facility would cover all its bases.

Beautiful pool area with multiple pools and hot tubs. Tennis courts, shuffle board "arena", fitness room with machines, free weights and cardio equipment. Library with computers and printer. Clean and welcoming laundry room with regular and extra large machines plus a dedicated one for pet blankets. My only complaint is that there was no WiFi at the sites - you had to walk over to the club house/pool area. Due to its location close to the MCAS Yuma there was quite a lot of low level air traffic. We enjoyed the plane spotting so didn't bother us but thought I'd mention it.Our rate of $44 based on weekly rate paid in December 2016.

Let me just say, we WILL be back to this place. We stayed here in early April, so the price we paid was for the low season. The resort was approximately only 33% full. There were a few rallys in the resort, but it was hard to tell they were there. All in all, it was quiet atmosphere at this time of the season. The snowbirds that own places or lots here are very friendly. We got invited to a block party by the people across the street, which was very fun.The gravel campsites are spacious (3 vehicles wide). The patios are concrete. Hook ups are excellent. Cable TV is included with more than your basic channels. The WiFi worked well during the low season, but I was told it gets overloaded during the high season. Verizon 4G worked very well. There was a bit of road noise from 32nd St, but not much. The aerial maneuvers from Yuma Marine Base made more noise...but they were fun to watch. This park has only 400 sites (low for this area of the country). The permanent homes that are here are not park models, they are stick and brick and covered with stucco. Nothing looked junky the way some places with park models get.We took full advantage of the pools and hot tubs. The landscaping was meticulously done and beautiful. This truly is a resort. Low season is a great time to visit this resort. The price was right, the amenities great, and the people friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

However, The Palms in Yuma really impressed us and is very much a resort (probably the fanciest place we've ever camped). It's listed as 55+ but they will rent up to 20% of sites to younger RVers like us. The park was beautiful, with trees, plants, and blooming flowers everywhere. The campsites are reasonably large (both length and width) with concrete patios and large gravel for the rest of the site. There are pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, shuffleboard, concerts, and more (we used the hot tubs, but nothing else). There are some permanent sites, but instead of Park Models, they are custom-built upscale homes which add to the appeal of the resort, rather than detract from it. It's clearly meant for seasonal/snowbird stays, but they do offer daily and weekly stays as well. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, staff and other campers alike. We were glad to find that the resort is extremely dog friendly. Apart from having two large off-leash fenced and grassy dog areas (one for large dogs, one for small), there is also a nice dirt walking trail all the way around the perimeter of the park (exactly a 1-mile walk) which was great for our daily dog walks. Dogs can be walked almost anywhere in the resort but the trail was perfect. We had strong AT&T and Verizon LTE signals but found Verizon was always slow. The campground has free WiFi but we found it to be unusably slow at our site. We would stay here again, even with the somewhat high daily rate (expected for a resort with these amenities).

There is everything from gravel sites to nice resort type homes in this park which creates a nice upscale feel if that's what you are looking for. Check in was easy and was lead to our site. Utilities are good, sites are plenty large enough and level, 2 nice pools and 2 great hot tubs. Great gym and pool hall. plenty of things to do if you are a active person. My rating on the Verizon bars is a guess because I am supplying reviews of campgrounds we have stayed at to help this site grow but have not always made notes on Verizon signal unless there simply was none.
