About one third of the park is short term sites all of which were .empty They are fairly neat and clean. I think most of the long term guests are away. Every long term trailer I saw was old and looked like it had been there for decades, while not trashy, they just looked worn down by time and heat. Walmart, a short walk away, is a real plus. The park is close enough to Yuma activities. The staff is friendly and helpful with advice on local activities. The pool looked well maintained, I didn't use it. Wow, is the nearby airport loud, though not so at night. WiFi and att not so good, but functional.

It is an age qualified (55+) resort. We loved that it is located next to Walmart and they have a dedicated security gate right into the Walmart parking lot! You can push your shopping cart right to your site and the come around and collect them and return them to Walmart. Talk about service! Check out this park if you are in the Yuma area! ????????????

My wife and I stayed in full hookup site # 920 for 2 weeks and it was level and comfortable. Staff member Wayne and his wife Kathy escorted us to our site after check-in. I explained that we could easily back in ourselves but Wayne stated that park policy requires that he assist with this process. Now that is great customer service! Our only minor complaint was that the sewer connection was at the far back of the site. We had to hook 2 hoses together to reach it. The manager is named Lin and he was very friendly. Another office staff member named Sue helped us find local places of interest. I really cannot say enough about the excellent folks at Suni Sands. Everyone has a positive attitude and they are always willing to help. The park is located right next to a Walmart which is easily accessed through a secured gate. Here is the best part: the staff will pickup your shopping cart at your site and then return it free of charge. Talk about convenience! Free wifi is available at the main building and pool and it was pretty good. My AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. A large oval walking/running path is located right next to the park so exercise is an option. There is a recycling bin for aluminum cans, cardboard and plastic (no glass.) Reverse osmosis water refills are available at the office for only 25 cents per gallon. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained. The pool looked fantastic but we didn't try it. You have to buy a $5.00 laundry card and then load money on it to use the washers & dryers. The refill machine was temporarily out of order but one of the full-time residents offered to let me use her card for free. I didn't accept but holy smokes her kind offer was incredibly generous! The Los Algodones Mexico border crossing is about 25 minutes away. We paid $6.00 to park on the U.S. side and then walked across. Yes a Naval Air base is located near the park and the jets are definitely loud, but they don't fly at night and it's only a few minutes of inconvenience each time. We actually enjoyed watching the aircraft fly around. Thank you Lin and team for an incredible stay!!!

  • If you aren't fond of military jets....

First the positive, Checking in was a breeze and all the staff (and Residents for that matter) were friendly and actually had fun checking in! Showed me to one of the pull thru RV spots and helped me get settled, Great Folks! The facilities are clean including the pool and hot tub, very clean park overall.Interesting there's a back gate leading to Walmart right behind and used that a couple times, the park even encourages bringing your cart back to your site, when done just leave it in front and during the day a staff member will pick it up and deliver it back to Walmart. Very nice!So what's the bad? Depending on your tolerance for noise the military aircraft operating from the airport just across the road can be overwhelming even for this lover of Military aircraft. They seem to operate mostly during the day from 8am to as late as 11pm and when I say noisy I mean noisy! Last night 4 jets took off around 6pm in about 5 min intervals, the noise was so intense it set off car alarms in all directions. Now I love military aircraft and I think in the last 2 weeks I've seen most every type and not all are noisy so it was fun... for me... others may have an issue with it. I made a video to illustrate the noise. Safe travels all & Cheers!Dave

The first 3 days we had some occasional plane noise and it was not too bad. By the fourth day they must have started military drills because we had F35's, helicopters and all kinds of fighter jets flying around non stop for hours and they are very loud. Imagine hearing a plane take off over your head at the airport but double that noise level and have it going for 20 minutes non stop at several points through the day. We couldn't hold a conversation it was so loud. It started around 8am and stops at 9pm so at least you are spared the noise overnight but it was crazy during the day. I can take some noise but this was too much. We are cutting our 2 week stay short and moving on. It is a 55+ park and most of the spots are reserved for mobile home/permanent units. There are a few RV dedicated spots and they place you every other one when the park is not too full. Once it is full you will have people 2 ft away and your slides may overlap. They are just too close together. The spots are plenty long enough for any size RV and your vehicle but the width is very tight. We got 3Mbps download speed with T-Mobile and 19Mbps download with AT&T. 2-3 bars on both for calls. It worked fine.

Whether you want to check out Old Yuma, Los Algodones, or the Imperial Sand Dunes, this is a great place to start our your adventures. Although we would liked to see a larger, more updated bath house, we really enjoyed this campground. The residents and staff are friendly, the bath house is clean, the clubhouse is open from 5:30 a.m. every day with free wifi, coffe, tea, and popcorn. There are many activities throughout the day. There is a nearby Walmart and walking trail. They accept pets and there is an area to walk your pets. They recycle!!It is beside the airport. This can be a plus or minus depending on your point of view, but it wasn't that noisy. There is also pay as you go wifi to enjoy from your rig, but we decided not to take advantage of it because we enjoyed socializing with the residents.
