Any site for short term stay has no shade, just gravel and sun. And no cell service.

  • Crowded, gravel, not my idea of camping

We stayed from Wednesday May 24 until Monday May 29. We were in a self contained class A motorhome with a towed behind Jeep. We traveled wth our two dogs. I cannot say anything negative about any of the staff or about the cleanliness of the facilities. The rv area is all gravel. There is no grassy areas around the rv sites at all. The sites are very close together, so close together that sitting out in your own campsite feels like you are sitting in your neighbor's campsite. There are no fire rings. If you like a little space, a little natural beauty, and the option of a campfire, this is probably not going to be your kind of place. The wifi was fantastic until the camp filled up, then it was nearly non-existent. That is to be expected of course. We were there on a holiday weekend so it makes sense that the wifi would be sporadic. From what we saw before the big crowds arrived, they seem to have a pretty good wifi signal. We had some problems with the cable hookup and the staff worked diligently to solve the problems. We could not have been happier with how hard the staff worked to take care of the needs (and wants) of their guests. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There is a restaurant, a store carrying gear for boaters and watersports, a small hotel, cabins, a playground, a large picnic pavillion, and a beautiful saltwater swimming pool. The campground is connected to a well maintained marina with boats for rent and facilities for privately owned boats as well. They also rent out kayaks.
