This is primarily a seasonal campground with full hookups and no frills. Interior roads are gravel with tight turns and low tree branches. The sites at the top near the entrance are more level but you must go into the interior roads to make a turn around before you can back into them with your back end over-looking the Douglas Dam lake. There is no office at the campground, instead there is a campground host who will come by and check you in. Make sure you know your site number, in case he is not around when you arrive. We stayed on site 2 with a 35’ fifth wheel. Sites along the entry are very close together with zero privacy. The interior roads have more private and wooded sites but are primarily used by seasonal campers. Our review is based on the site we were in for short term stay. The directions to the park (from Knoxville / I-40) took us to exit 407, and used Holiday Hills road as a shortcut- which was very steep and windy. We renamed it Horrible Hill. Instead - if you must stay at this park - and you are towing a trailer, take exit 412 off I-81/I-40 to Deep Springs Rd, then right onto SR139 following the shoreline, then left onto Douglas Dam road and into the Marina. The road into the marina from the other direction is very steep and has a sharp right turn to the campground. Low branches on this road when leaving the marina tore off part of our awning arm motor cover. If you enter from Exit 412 you will pass two infinitely nicer campgrounds however! Anchor Down RV Resort is amazing if you can get a reservation, and Douglas Dam Headwaters/Tailwaters campsites are electric and water only, but very nice and have several big rig friendly sites. We drove through both and were impressed. We didn't use the facilities as we were self-contained.
