There seemed to be mostly seasonal or long term campers here but everything was clean, well maintained and everyone we encountered was as friendly as could be. The approach to the area of the park we were in is quite steep, but once you get up there the gravel sites are level. The roads are all paved. We were in a newly developed site and the sewer was not installed yet. All the older sites I noticed did have sewer hookups. We didn't go into the bath house/laundry building. Don't be put off by the appearance of the building that houses the office. It's not attractive, but you won't be staying there. We were pleased with the park and manuvering our 45 foot motorhome towing a Jeep was not a problem. There is shopping and dining back toward the interstate highway and we found a gem of a municipal dog park near Fort Loudon dam, We would be happy to stay here again, especially if we could get a site with sewer hookups.
What a hidden gem!

We loved the campground and area enough that we are thinking of spending a month or two at a later time!
Overall, nice quiet park with a trail system close by – 45 min to downtown Knoxville

Stayed here for about 3-4 months for a seasonal work gig that was off site. Park is quiet, close to the town for all your amenities. There's a cute goat farm down the hill. There's a cute goat farm down the hill. The Tellico lake trail system is about a 1/2 mile drive/walk to the trailhead which is really nice. Check out Mizell Bluffs! Spaces are fairly close together but is normal. Bathhouse is clean and the laundry room is convenient. Follow signs for the office (it's not in plain sight).Only downside has been the wi-fi. There's two routers for each side of the park. In the fall, it worked decent enough with our wi-fi ranger. However this winter, our side of the wi-fi hasn't been working and multiple calls to the office has resulted in nothing. For someone who works remotely, this has been a huge annoyance. If you're looking to stay in the area, this is a good place to check out (not a whole lot going on, though). It's about a 45 minute drive to downtown Knoxville which isn't the most convenient.Ugly Mug Coffee has good coffee & food choices in town and Country Kinfolk cafe has some amazing homemade food!
Quiet, scenic place to wait out a repair.

Loved the peacefulness of the area. Plenty of places to walk the dogs. Sites have long pull through with large yards, firepits, picnic table on concrete pad, laundromat.
