The roads, as others have surely noted, are rough. The hills to get around the campground are very steep in some areas — surprisingly so. The place is not much to look at in general. That said, it's fully functional, you ought to drive slow with your rig anyway so the roads aren't too much worry, and it's on a pretty neat road/park that's a beautiful drive. So take it with a grain of salt :)

Bridge was terrifying (in a big fifth wheel) and you will have no service about an hour outside of the park. There is a make shift dirt side road beside the paved road under the bridge that gives at least 2 feet to additional clearance. We are about 13.5’ tall and made it with all AC’s intact. Also we purchased the internet for $15 for the week and we have been able to stream Netflix, work remote, and play Xbox with little issues (not perfect but better then anticipated). I had 4 bars of 5g for AT&T and no bars on my Verizon jet pack. We came in February and there are a lot of full timers/annuals here but it’s pretty quiet. It’s not very private in the spots. Staff has been amazing and helped us get into a double 30 AMP spot so we have no issue with power plus we had sewer hook ups. Hohenwald is like 30 minutes away and it’s a small town so when we come back I would already have a full gas tank and a full fridge this time.

Also finding a full hook up site is next to impossible due to probably over 50% of the full hook up sites are taken by yearly residents. We are new Thousand trails members and did not realize they sold yearly spaces. The park was pretty much full when we stayed and due to the long term resident there is a lot of traffic mainly in Side by sides and golf carts. People drive way to fast with in the park. The park is nice and the facilities are clean getting access to the lake is tough due to the lakeside sites. There is a store on site If you are looking for a place to get away for a week you could do worse. We camped at Natchez Trace Thousand Trails NACO in a Fifth Wheel.

Plus if you look on street view there is a "path" on the side that takes you down another 2ish feet. I suspect all but a large class A or really tall 5th wheel can make it under the bridge. the entrance and exit on left have some serious steep drop offs on the sides. be sure to not cut the corner at all. the roads around the resort are CRAP for the most part. they are paved but some large potholes (just put some fricken gravel in them dammmm) so be on high alert for them. We were in section or Phase 2, also known as B as all the site number have a B under them. there is a mix of W,E,S with many just W, E and the elec can be 30 or 50 amp.. (more 30 amp) .some of the sites look unusable for the most part.. (short, narrow, overgrown etc.) many of the sites by the lakes are taken by annuals. We did not see anything in phase 2 that looked open..There are lots to do,, putt putt course, basketball, game room etc. and the lake. You can rent kayaks and a pontoon boat as well. i hear. there is a nice dog park area up toward the putt putt and 50 amp sites by the boat ramp area. packages,, the official policy is no..but if something come they will take it ,, there is a $2 per package charge. either to ranger /check in station or the trading post store to pickup. the trading post serves the usual stuff, hot dog, hamburgers, and has beer, some other stuff on shelves and some rv parts stuff, but NOTHING is priced.. SMH.. they do rent kayaks for $16.43 (with tax) for 4 hrs and $27.38 for day.. they are mostly double boats with one smaller single.. you sign up at ranger station and get stuff down by beach.. We brought out our own boat. The lake is nice you can go a long ways down river. the pontoon boat is out of service for repair all year. CELL SERVICE... We and friend both had good ATT service.. ( 29 m down ) he has verizon and with booster was ok.. t-mobile was nothing. (site 84B and 209B) on map there is no 84 its 82.. again SMH.. The bath houses are ok.. the one in section B down by the lake is older.. Up by the pool there are 4 nice new looking and the bath house out by the boat ramp was real nice. there are several play areas for kids and a swim beach by boat dock.. RECYCLING.. there is a recycling center in town.. 641 waynesboro hwy, hohenwald, tn 38462.. Lewis County Transfer Station its called.. https://lewiscountytn.com/2020/03/09/recycling-for-lewis-county-at-the-lewis-county-transfer-station/Wish more would post recycling center near the TT they stay in.. We try,, try to do our part so you can help to do yours.. recycle when you can..

I got mostly usable Verizon signal, 2 bars, 5Mbps, at the highest elevation in the park at phase 1. I think their wifi network is new and I found it to be a little better option that using Verizon and had 3 bars and 5-10Mbps depending on which option you pay for, the higher worked good for video with just occasional cut outs.

The rickety electrical box looked like it was built in the 1970's and we had to tap it a few times to actually get power. So we dropped our jacks, put out the slideouts and thought that all was well. Then around 6:00pm the electricity died for good. I called the office and of course nobody was there. Turns out that there is an after hours emergency phone number, but it is posted way back at the ranger station. Would it kill these people to print this number on the map? Other campgrounds do this routinely so it should be a no-brainer. Luckily we were able to move a few sites down and complete our setup again prior to sunset. The next day I explained the situation to a ranger station employee and suggested that they block off site #70 so no guests try to enter until the electrical box is fixed. She agreed enthusiastically and said that maintenance would be contacted right away. Well...they never blocked the site and the box remained in shoddy condition for the next week. The staff here really needs to try harder! Anyway the park itself is spacious and includes a recreation office, lodge and store. The phase 2 section men's bathrooms & showers were dirty and in dire need of immediate renovation. My wife said that the women's side was ok. Couldn't program any over the air TV channels at our site and my AT&T phone had zero bars. Paid $14.95 for 1 week of wifi and it was surprisingly good. YouTube even worked ok. We enjoyed biking down to the 50 amp RV section near the boat launch at the lake. Pool near the campground entrance seemed to be in good shape but we didn't try it. There is also a running track. WARNING: Make sure to approach this campground from the south on Hwy 241/Napier road as there is a low clearance 11 foot bridge just to the north. Be careful!

The drive was beautiful except for an extremely low bridge (11ft) near the entrance to the resort which we had prepared for and it was not a surprise however when we arrived to the resort it seemed disorganized and fragmented. We knew it was a first come first serve in finding your site but what they don't tell you is that the majority of the premium sites near the water are taken up with homesteaders that have full on decks and foundations to the travel trailers. The roads crumbled underneath our motorhome and the steep terrain made it difficult for just adequate tow vehicles but the sites are well marked plus the map they give you is detailed. We had no lake access due to the homesteader having private access walkways that apparently they had created themselves. Bathrooms and town hall are clean and well thought out. Most activities were shut down due to the virus so no fault of the campground. My wife and two sons will not be traveling back to this location.

However upon getting there, they don’t have WiFi that you can pay for at your site. There is also no cell coverage (sprint) even with our $500 weboost device. We are full-timers and we run 3 businesses from the road. Having WiFi is important to us and we don’t mind paying for it. If a place doesn’t have WiFi we can do most of our work using cell service so it’s acceptable. I realize that some people want to get away from it all and that’s great, but we chose THIS campground because it said they have WiFi and they don’t, and had no explanation for it other than “we are working on it”. They do provide free WiFi at some of the common areas such as the little store and pavilion but it wasn’t great. This is Feb 2019 so if you’re reading this and it’s been a few months, I would suggest calling them directly to see if they now have WiFi. If they get it in the future we would return but not until then and from now on I will be calling each thousand trails location to verify the WiFi before we venture out. There weren’t many sites with sewer either which was weird considering how huge this place is. A lot of the sewer sites (and w/e only) were taken up by annuals. More than any other TT we have been to so far. Still our site was ok. No fire pit though and really close to other sites. The nearest gas station is about 10 miles away. The nearest Walmart/grocery/fast food is about 25 mins away in Hohenwald but a better option is Lawrenceburg which is 30-35 mins away and has more stores and a 24 hour Walmart. We LOVED the Natchez Trace Parkway and saw so many deer including a rare albino doe! We also encountered some Amish locals at Walmart and saw a few horse and buggies which was awesome because we don’t have that kind of thing where we live. This is a great location for exploring the area but if you’re someone who needs to be “connected” it’s not ideal.

Imagine going back to a time when there was no internet and cellphones. Recommend you get and use FAMILY TALK RADIOS (FRS radios) so you can keep in touch with your family while getting around this several ache (100 acres?) campus. We had one bar of Verizon coverage (minimal get by) that allowed texting. Had to drive to highest hill to get better coverage for conversation. No AT&T. The on campus internet is minimal and spotty, as you will not be able to stream Netflix or YouTube. But you can go to the family/recreation center which has its own wifi and get by with connections. Make sure you bring lots of cached/saved Netflix movies to watch.

Had a horrible experience all around. Getting to the campsite was difficult, the hills are crazy. The sites are not at all level. There is no cell coverage to speak of unless you happen to be at the top of the hill in a small circle about 10 feet in diameter and never move or risk losing your call. They have wifi, but it never works. Can't even use it to check email. The camp store is useless. They have about five coolers for beer, one of soda, two gallons of milk, a pack of hot dogs. And that's about it. The few times we went into the camp store, the staff was sitting at the tables eating. Didn't acknowledge us, didn't say hi, nothing. We had to stand there and ask to get checked out so we could leave. Not that hard to actually pay attention to customers and use a cash register, but the staff here seems incapable of doing that. Also, there is literally nothing to do around here. The pool and facilities are so far from the TT area that there is no way you would walk to them. Its nearly a mile up and down hills, maybe more. And other things to do around the area? Well, not much. There are a few historic sites, a couple towns that have a Walmart and nothing else, and that's about it.

I have 4 different boosters including a Yagi antenna on top a 20 foot pole. The best I could manage was .25 mbps down .01 up. As said it is VERY hilly so pick your site at the top of the hill. Hind sight 20/20 I should have went with 30A service at the top of the hill. I listed this as 1 bar but that was WITH a booster. There are very few FHU and 50A service spots. Lots of annuals are in this park so don't plan on any site near the lake if that is what you are looking for.Speed limit in the park is posted at 5mph. Annuals seem to add a zero to that speed limit with their motorized utility vehicles so be careful if you have kids. Roads are in horrid disrepair. I've been to boondocking spots with better roads. The pool is just opening so I can't say as I did not go. If you want to be away from the world this is a good place. 30 mins+ to town and civilization including a small "super" Walmart. A few places to eat but a small town is Hohenwald (home of Oliver Travel Trailers). Have NO plans to return to this park.

We were coming up from the south, so we took 64 to 241 and when we left we took Napier Rd to 20 headed North. This park was included in our membership, but the nightly rate is $32 for non-members. There is next to no cell service on any carrier here. I was able, with a booster (ATT) or an antenna (Verizon), to get enough AT&T or Verizon signal to work. The only place where we were able to get signal was Phase 2 on the top of the hills (300s section). There are not many FHU sites and many sites are small or unlevel. Par for the course with Thousand Trails, most of the larger sites and all of the lake front sites are taken my seasonal or annual residents. This probably was, and could be again, a nice park but it is in some serious disrepair. The buildings are dated, the roads are broken and falling apart and it one of those parks that really gives you that Trailer Park vibe instead of campground. It's a shame because more Thousand Trails park seem to be ending up this way. It's an economical way to travel, but you certainly get what you pay for. There isn't much to do in the area, but the Natchez Trace Parkway is fantastic! There are plenty of stops to explore from open pit mines to waterfalls. There are also 3 wineries pretty close by and a great brewery (Asgard) about 45 minutes away in Columbia. Overall, it's Thousand Trails. It's not great, it's not horrible. If you don't have a booster or antenna, don't expect to get any internet so don't go out of your way to go here.

Many trees and sites with a view of a large body of water. This is an older campground with spotty AT&T cell service even though I was able to use my Netgear internet gizmo so I cannot complain. The electrical and water hookups are certainly showing their age. But everything worked. The restroom and showers are clean and well-heated. Laundry facilities looked good but we did not need to use them. Very pretty area and I imagine this park gets pretty busy during less inclement weather. There are several full-time year-round campers here, but few were visiting their trailers the two nights we were here. For a first-time trailer experience this park was ok. It could have been worse and there is room for improvement. But all in all a pretty good place. Heading south on the Natchez Trail tomorrow and the beginning of our adventure without a net.

Our anticipation turned into disappointment after the first few hours. The roads are in terrible shape and badly need to be repaired/repaved and the sites are a mixture of gravel and mud. The campground is plagued by bad erosion and to add insult to injury it was raining heavily with strong winds. The bathroom/shower facility was in bad shape and pretty old without any dry bench to sit or put anything. Even with a wifi and cellular booster we couldn't get internet at all. No radio or tv channels either. Only electric and water hookup, a dump was was nearby but not on site. Whatever good time we had was provided solely by the rally we attended. No, we wouldn't go back and it's a shame because it's a very pretty area.
