As I approached the main office wearing a mask, a lady on the porch gleefully informed me that I was not required to wear a mask in there. Apparently they believe they exist in some magical bubble where COVID doesn’t exist. When I entered the office I was horrified to see that not a single employee was wearing a mask. The office was congested and busy and it took forever to check in. I had to explain that my parents would be visiting the next day but they would not be able to come into the office because it was not safe. Per capita cases here are the highest in the entire country. The lack of knowledge and/or care for the health and well being of their patrons is astounding and we will not be back.

Firewood delivered - 3 large buckets for $20 was more than we needed for 5 nights. Park wi-fi is strong.Pool and beach looked nice, but we didn't use these amenities. The bath house next to the office is great - large full bathrooms. I don't know how busy they are in the morning, we went around 8pm and had no problem getting a shower. They also have laundry facilities that we didn't use.Just about the only thing that wasn't great here was the Camp Cafe schedule. We didn't notice the little note on the board in the office saying it was open Weds-Sat. We went down two nights to get ice cream only to find it closed. On Weds we tried again, only to learn that it was closed again, but would be open Thursday. Finally we were able to get dinner and ice cream. It's probably a good thing for our waistlines that we weren't able to get the chicken sandwich and ice cream every night. I hear the cheeseburger is good too. It would have been nice to have the cafe schedule posted on the outside of the food truck so we knew when it would open.Overall great place! Lots for kids to do. Quiet at night. We'd love to stay here again if we're in the area.

We called two days before our arrival on a Saturday to try to cancel our reservation because of bad storms they were expecting. The lady on the phone was very rude and told us that she would not cancel our reservation because we were within a two day period. We asked if it would be possible to move the deposit or the reservation total to a credit for camping at a later date and they said absolutely not. So we decided instead of losing all of our money we would just go weather the storms. On Monday the day of our arrival we were going to be late to check in so my wife called to see if there was anything we needed to do for a late check-in and she informed my wife that our reservations were canceled and we forfeited our deposit. We asked to speak to the manager and told her the whole story that we were told on Saturday that we could not cancel so we were preparing to come and she said it was canceled and you lost your deposit and hung up on me. Immediately called back and told her it was not right for them to tell us on Saturday that we could not cancel and then Monday tell us they canceled it and was no longer available. I explained to her that we prepared for two days to come camping and now you want to keep our money. I asked her if she could just move the deposit to a credit for a future date since she had already booked our site and the conversation ended with her telling me you lost your deposit and there’s nothing were going to do about it and hung up on me. We only lost a $60 deposit but this is not about the money it’s about the principle of how they treat people and run their business. The lady that was so rude and hung up on me several times was Shannon Dixon the owner and operator. If she would do this to someone over $60 there’s no telling what she would do if the price was higher.

They rent Golf cars to campers which will be buzzing around the park all day and into the evening. Its a huge park so if you want to take advantage of all the amenities, including access to the lake, I recommend renting one. If I were to come back I would definitely splurge for a lake view site. All the sites are good size but I felt like I was sharing a buddy site with my neighbors in the next row over due to the layout. I did find a couple things disappointing here which were, the WIFI, the cable tv and the cell reception. The the restroom and showers were very clean and nice. The laundry facility was good and not too pricy at $2 each for wash and dry. This park is in a cool area of Tennessee about 30 minutes to Knoxville (lots more of restaurants, bars, shopping and history) and 20 minutes to Sevierville (Birthplace of Dolly Parton). Anchor Down is a great place to bring the kids.

Oddly, for such a nice park I expected they would lead you to your site but they don’t. Not a big deal. Roads are wide and paved. Sites are concrete and most have a view. Our back-in was just long enough for the MH and toad. Too bad they don’t have hook ups on both sides so we could have pulled in to see the view of the lake and mountains. The site was pretty level side to side but dropped off in the back. I had to stop the auto level before it was done. There is a strip of grass between sites and no privacy. Nicely designed with rock fireplaces and brick fire pits. There are many activities including water sports, pickleball, basketball, pool with waterslide, beach area and more. Verizon was 4g 1-3 bars. Satellite would not be a problem. WII FI is pretty good actually. We were right by a hot spot so that may make a difference. It is quiet at night. It can be bustling during the day with dogs and kids. Lots of what appeared to be seasonal campers. All in all a nice park, especially if you take advantage of what it has to offer. On the pricey side for us as we don’t usually partake of the amenities.

Premium sites have a beautiful view of Lake Douglas and custom fireplaces. Important to take exit 412 off I-40. Your gps might recommend another exit, but the roads would be narrow and winding. While the topography is hilly, the sites are terraced in such a way that most have some view of the scenery. Strong wifi, easy to get satellite TV, but you won’t need it because the site comes with cable. Lots of doggie bags strategically located around the campground. The campground has a beach, boat launch, tennis and basketball courts, and doggie park. Well maintained band a great place located not far from Sevierville, and the mountains.
