The campground is nestled next to HWY 16A and surprisingly wasn’t as noisy as one would expect. Our pull thru site, #20 should’t be considered a site at all! This site was located on the perimeter of the campground, almost like an add on site, parallel to the main one-way campground road. For hookups, there was only one way to pull into the site and it was literally two steps out our door and into the dusty road. No space for lawn chairs. Our picnic table was located in the back of the site right next to the sewer hookup. We also noticed that the “better”sites also had their picnic tables and sitting areas right along the previous site’s sewer/water. Stayed two of our four nights and left.

There was also an excellent restaurant (Powder House Lodge) right down the street from the campground. We had that BEST prime rib dinner ever.Nice campers too. We could not get reservations at the Powder House Lodge on Sunday when we pulled in so the camping neighbors nexts to us shared their excellent barbequed dinner and fixins with us! Nice folks out there in SD.There's a close highway and tourist helicopter site adjacent to the campground that wasn't too bad.

Noise is a huge dissatisfier for me and even though this place was right on the road, due to the large berm that was behind us noise was not an issue.

Right below highway (Couldn’t hear cars even when sitting outside) that takes you right to crazy horse/Mount Rushmore and just a very very short drive to the town. Town is a tourist trap and prices are high but if you need basic supplies they have it. Over all yes we would go back and camp there again.

Nice camp ground with decent distance between sites. Our site was on the outside of the main pull through section and was very private but road noise is present. All hook ups worked and friendly staff!
