The staff are extremely nice and everyone staying in the campground was very quiet and respectful. The playground was in great shape and my kids really enjoyed playing on it. There is a small creek that runs through the campground and it was so peaceful being able to enjoy a campfire with the sound of the bubbling water almost every night. Call staying here we were able to visit all of the attractions in downtown Greenville as well as Asheville and the Biltmore. It’s perfectly located as well! My husband also works remotely, and was able to use our AT&T hotspot reliably the whole time.

Actually, that was a good thing because the sites are along a flowing creek. Managers Terri and Bill couldn’t have been nicer. Upon arrival we were escorted to our site and assisted in backing in. The managers are engaged daily with the guests. I would stay again when in the area and skip the hassle of the state parks.

  • Beautiful, small campground warm hospitality. Plans to expand.

We had the last spot, #44, one of 2 pull-throughs. There are also a few cabins on site. It's almost impossible to get reservations for weekends here unless way in advance. It's small, but beautiful and clean, alongside of a creek. The new managers (very friendly, hospitable, and recently moved from Wyoming) said that KOA had purchased 53 acres next door and were planning to expand the campground. Most back-in sites are alongside the creek. All have a fire pit and table. Many sites also have a swing, as ours did. There is a bath house at the main office and another halfway down. Both had laundry room , shower, and 2 toilet stalls. We didn't use the laundry or shower facilities, but they were spotless. The other bath house is at the small recreation area where there is a large outdoor checkers set, basketball goal, recreation building, and pool. A small children's playground is nearby,as well as a dog run with a dirt floor. We've tried many times to get weekend reservations here and this was our first success. We'd love to make it our place to stay when visiting family. The only reason not to give it a 5 star rating was b/c we only got 1 bar on our Verizon cell phones and hotspot. The guest wifi was in and out and we received terrible cable hook-up reception so used our antenna for a better picture on the television.

The grounds are meticulously manicured, wonderful environment, beautiful scenery, quiet and very friendly. This will definitely be a regular place to stay in our camping future. If I could give six stars I would. I would go out of my way to stay here in the future and quickly became a destination for us as opposed to just to stop.

The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The owner even escorted us to our site. We stayed Christmas week and the campground was full but it never felt crowded. Sites are gravel and include Fire Ring, Picnic Table, and Patio.

Was originally booked at Paris Mtn. State Park but was advised by friends that my 34 foot trailer would be difficult to maneuver up to campground. Did a search and found this campground. Everything from arrival has been way above par compared to ANY campground I’ve stayed (and that includes Disney’s). Julie, who checked me in was informative and joyful to talk to. The owner, Jason took me to site and even spotted me in. Most campgrounds don’t allow cleaning of campers but this campground offers the service at a very fair rate. The owner’s son, Mason did an outstanding job and helped me remember my camper is white and not “Georgia Pollen Green”. Want LP refill? Set your empty at end of your site during day and it’s returned full (charged to your credit card). And on top of all this, the campground is beautiful, up against a creek, peaceful and obviously well run. Again, my only word is “WOW”.

We needed to test out our new home and this full hook-ups location was just down the road from us. The owner, Jason, did an amazing job getting this newbie into a tight site. Once backed in, the site is excellent. It sits right across from the playground (our toddler loved it) and there is a small creek that runs behind the site. We had weak Verizon cell service but the wifi was awesome, we were streaming HD episodes of Poldark on Amazon without any issue. We will definitely stay here again in the future should our travels bring us back this way!

We were there over Labor Day weekend, and they kept the office open late to escort everyone to their sites and get them backed in and were just generally eager to help with any issues we might have. Small KOA with limited but nicely maintained amenities (nice pool, giant checkerboard, a few scheduled activities on weekends). Fairly spacious, wooded sites mostly back up to a creek, but there are steep banks so no real access to the creek. Everything very clean and well-kept; nice landscaping. The location was our favorite part; it was easy to get to and only about 25 minutes from downtown Greenville, but there were also 4 state parks within a half hour drive (we went to Table Rock one day for some hiking) and we even went into North Carolina to see the Carl Sandburg home NPS site (also less than half an hour away). Travelers Rest itself is a nice little town with some good restaurants, at least one brewery (which we sampled) and the Swamp Rabbit bike path that you can take into Greenville
