We were in need of some R&R after a stressful month in Florida dealing with family challenges. The sites are spacious, roads are wide and easily navigated with our 40 ft Fiver. The pool was tended daily and very well kept. We enjoyed our walks on the trails nearby and a late morning swim every day. Walmart, Publix and Ace Hardware just down the road. Though we didn’t do the touristy stuff, this park is located near both Savanna and HIlton Head.

It’s 30 minutes from Savannah, 45 minutes from Hilton Head, and about 10 minutes from grocery stores. The pool was clean, hiking trails around the lake were beautiful, and everything was quiet and serene at night. Camp provided internet was fast enough for my husband to work and get on video calls. We plan to come back next year for sure!

The check in was easy. Drive up, get your packet outside the door and make your way to your site. The only complaint I have is the way they have laid down very soft gravel in the sites. This gravel is not hard packed enough to deal well with large vehicles as they sink into the ground. I left the day after a hard rain and was barely able to hitch up my truck due to the giant mud + gravel left over. This is not a minor problem. They really do need to fix this. With that said, everything else was top notch and it was a pleasant stay. The internet was fantastic with consistent speeds over 70 mbps d/l.

The campground sits beside a beautiful lake surrounded by trees and the only sounds you hear are the sounds of nature and other campers. The facilities all appear to be new. The pool is flanked by the well equipped laundry room and the bathrooms and showers. The buildings have clear signage and the office has a small store and a comfortable seating area. The campsites in our section of the park are all pull-through sites and the only negative is that ours was not very level. Also, the gravel is slippery so wheels tend to dig into the gravel rather that remain on top. Connectivity was sufficient to work remotely. Savannah and Hilton Head are only a half hour away so this made a convenient place to stop to visit both. There are lots of stores and restaurants on the road to Hilton Head, so finding groceries or anything else we needed was never a problem.

I don't think so... Not only misleading, but fraudulent!!!

There is a very pretty lake that you can kayak (no swimming due to possible alligators). There is also a trail access great for walking dogs, running or just taking a walk. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is our site along with others is absolutely not level. The sites are not paved and have these small rocks that just sank when we put the legs down. The best sites we thought are the ones that backed to the lake so look for those. There is a very nice pool by the lake, a big fire pit, laundry machines (you can pay by credit card, read the directions) and washrooms. We would definitely stay again if we were in this area. You can hear some road noise and an occasional train but it's in the distance so pretty muted.

Still, it’s a decent RV park with reasonably-sized spaces, worn but clean, functional bath house, a pool, a dog park, and for you anglers, a fishing dock. The pool was particularly pleasant. As others have noted, the main roads inside are paved, and the sites are sandy with concrete patios which are placed well-forward, clearly planned for motor homes, not so much for travel trailers. We didn’t try to use their wifi because we had acceptable cell signals for Verizon and AT&T.

In fact, he was highly complimentary about the whole experience, so I gave a call for reservations. The nice staff member called me back within an hour and we had arrangements for a weekend stay. This was a shakedown cruise for our new motorhome, so we really just wanted a reasonably clean and quiet place so that we could continue to learn about our coach. It was perfect. Our site overlooked the small lake, our site neighbors were mature, friendly and helpful. They told us about the nearby national wildlife refuge. The campground staff member also encouraged us to try a certain seafood place in Hilton Head. A popular place with the locals and the food is great with good portions. So...thanks for that recommendation my dear if you are reading this. The clientele was mostly older (like us) and parents would find this park lacking in kid-friendly entertainment options, but for us, it was a park without kids on bikes screaming at each other. Yay!We will definitely be back.

  • Very nice, clean, well cared RV park

The area has a lot to see being close to Hilton Head and Savannah. The park internet usually worked just fine for us occasionally I had to make a hotspot. The bathrooms are clean but don't have AC. The pool was nice, but it isn't heated so you can't use it in the winter. We travel with kids and I would say even though it had a pool it isn't the most kid friendly park. It doesn't have a lot for kids, but we were plenty comfortable. Also, the prices were going up in 2018 and I don't believe the park is worth the new monthly rate of $1200. Maybe if they had more amenities.

We stayed here just overnight, but this could be a destination park, too, for anyone wanting to stay near the Hilton Head Island/Savanna area for awhile. The park is clean and well laid out. Wifi is strong and very fast. The sites are fairly spacious, but most are out in the sun. Access is easy and the park accommodates big rigs.

Tons of pet friendly areas. They did have a specific dog area but also said you could take them any green space you wanted on leash as long as you clean up after them and they provided a ton of doggie bag stations all over the place. Nice little store up front, friendly management. The lake is pretty, enjoyed sitting on the dock. There's also a big fire pit area and some outdoor games. Would stay here again!

The website was not honest on what they offer as far as Cable, Wi-Fi, trails, and clear water. The cable or wifi never worked, the trails were dangerous and not maintained, and the water was black and murky. Other residents would walk pets and allow them to poop on other sites without even cleaning it up. It was definitely not a kid or young family friendly campground. Very little for the children to do besides rides bikes and swim. The pool and bath houses were EXTREMELY nice and we did enjoy that. The location was easy to find and conveiniant. My main complaints are that it advertises many amenities but doesn't really offer them. The maintenance man was very rude and pushy. This campground needs to be advertised as a retirement community. They made remarks and glares at our children. We did not feel welcomed to say the least. While we were there a tornado warning went into effect and no one notified the campers.... not even a siren on the property. Overall I don't think we will ever revisit this place. NOT OUR CUP OF TEA.

The grounds are clean. Access in and out is easy. The issues I have are that the WiFi was not working at all during our stay and the pool was closed our stay. I realize that many people do not use these services but some of us do and we look for campgrounds who advertise that they provide it. It bothered me when the receipt I got from this campground had in bold print that the WiFi was free and therefore not guaranteed to work. And coincidentally they said it was not working. They also said the pool was closed. The costs to provide these types of services including WiFi, pool access, bathroom and shower facilities, etc. are included in the camping fee. To say they are free and not guaranteed is just ridiculous.

I am thankful that this park did not charge a "kid tax". Thank you! The check-in process was quick and easy and the lady that checked me in was very nice and friendly. The pull-through site was plenty long enough for our 41 foot 5th wheel and truck. Verizon 4G worked well there. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
