I felt unsafe with our fifth wheel's two left tires up in the air after auto-leveling. That was a first for us, and hope we never have to do that again. The hill getting up to our site was steep. This place is full of big rigs, however, it is not conducive to them. Every turn is tight. The dog in the camper next to us was allowed to bark nonstop when it came outside. The park staff even texted us after arrival to see how things were going, and also again mid-way through our stay. I mentioned the dog. Nothing happened. The neighbors did manage to hear the dog after about ten minutes each time, and they did put it up, but gosh. That's a lot of unnecessary barking.Currently, the pool is green, but I expect that will change soon. The mini-golf needs some love, but it's in pretty good condition considering some that we've seen other places. The clubhouse, office, bath houses, and laundry are nice and clean. The staff is friendly. The tall tall trees are beautiful. We didn't meet any of our neighbors as almost no one comes out of their campers. The weather was very nice at least 3 of the 8 days we were there. We never saw anyone sitting out around a fire, cooking out, or just hanging out. We saw a few people playing basketball a couple of times, and lots of kids rode their bikes occasionally. We saw a lot of big rigs struggling to get up the hills to park in the A section. If you have a big rig, park somewhere else besides the A section if at all possible. (We paid $0 because this was part of our Thousand Trails membership.)

The staff are perfectly friendly and gladly handle packages, which was nice, but the part really is quite steep in some sections. Prepare to drive slow, like many TT campgrounds the roads could use some work, but on the other hand this is a very forest-y campground so it shouldn't be too surprising. So yes: hilly.. but pleasant.

We pull a 44 foot fifth wheel, and that is a challenge for this park. It worked, but go in aware that it isn't made for the bigger rigs. They are working on the mini golf course, so about half of it is nice. It was still a good time. If I had a smaller rig, and wanted a quiet park next to the lake with good staff, I'd make a home there.

The park isn't a big rig friendly. Be prepared to get stuck. There is no sign indicating that a site is an annual spot. So you may have to change during your stay, as we did. We found a site with trash and meat all over the place. Quiet and has some beautiful trees, though.

We have a Thousand Trails membership and two boys at Clemson so it is convenient. The property is dated. The roads and pull through sites in rough shape. Many sites are on the side of hills so no place to enjoy anywhere but inside your own camper.

Big rig motorhomes should not plan to stay here. We were forced to use a 30-amp spot at the top of the hill and wedged into a spot. Most of the spots are a terrace on the side of the "mountain" like topography. Front to back a 5ver can adjust for it, but for a 40' motorhome it is impossible to level from front to back.

What a pleasant surprise as these are non-existent in most Thousand Trails parks! We loved the site as it was wide and very level. This park has lots of hills so take it slow when driving. Some of the side roads are unpaved with lots of ruts & damage. The manager is named Donna and she was very kind and helpful. She mentioned that water and electric sites can get free honeywagon service on Thursdays. Wifi is only available near the office and unfortunately it was rather slow. My AT&T phone had 2 bars and the hotspot worked ok. Clubhouse was closed due to Covid-19 but the lodge was open. The B section bathroom & showers were below average. Pool looked decent but we didn't try it.

Have had no luck at the Jersey Shore, too many seasonals.Went to PA Dutch years ago, it was run down, seasonals encroached on open spots making it impossible to get into a spot. I had to move a satellite dish to back in and had the owner threaten me when he came home from work. Hershey PA is nice but the person running it does not care about the park. I rented a cabin for my daughter and her family wanted to camp near by. We arrived around 1:00 pm, the closest spot was small and close to another, we waited till 3:00 pm to set up hoping people would pull out no one didSo I disconnected and we set up where the fire ring was ,at 4:00 pm 3 rigs in my area pulled out, shortly after we were told to move our things to the other side of the rig where there was not even enough space to fully open my awning it turned out to be a friendship spot it was not marked and I did not look to see where the hook ups were. Had Thousand Trails had a check in system to tell us what sites were available this would have not happened, but I am are forced to tow my 40ft 5th wheel through the entire campground to look for a site . Then we to use row boats they were on the shore full of water we tried every day no luck filled with water the whole time.We made reservations to stay at Carolina Landing, my wife ask where the big rig 50 amp spots were .We were directed to an area where the spots were so unlevel my self leveling system could not level, there was only 1 other site available, The campground was run down and not maintained. The campground is almost all year round sites. So much so that there was a site with a RV carport over the entire site, There were sites that were full of weeds and run down RV's.We had a reservation for 4 nights left after 2,It would be nice if Thousand Trails would care about their members rather that fill all the prime sites with seasonals and year around sites. If I wanted to camp in a run mobile park I would do so.

I was TERRIFIED based on the vast majority of reviews. We even mapped out alternates in case the park matches the horrible picture the reviews painted. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff directed us to loops D and F, and we are very grateful that they did. As compared to loop A, our loop (D) was peaceful and quiet. And the spaces had much more room and overall privacy. The bath house in our loop was great. The showers had real shower surrounds, and the facilities were all very clean. The pool was open with limited hours 11am to 4pm), and the laundry room was also open. We needed to do laundry, and the corresponding app told us exactly when our loads were done. We were impressed. The lake is interesting. It’s a very steep walk (or drive) down, and while there is a swim dock, there is zero beach or play area or hang out area. We went off-site per a recommendation from the staff and found a great local swim access area. Like most TT parks, many annual members, but because we traveled during the week, most of which were vacant, and it was extremely quiet. The full-timers were not overly friendly, but the other short term guests in our loop were super friendly and courteous. I never thought I would say this based on the other reviews, but we would stay here (in loop D) again!

They have carved the sites into pretty rolling hills and as the other reviews note, this made getting level a bit of a challenging. It also made walking around the park difficult for a not-so-in-shape person as myself. Great view of Lake Hartwell and walking down to it proved pretty easy downhill but a test of my stamina. Want to get in shape--go up and down those hills multiple times. We only stayed four days in ungood February weather--the park would surely liven up in the summer. Fair Play has an interesting cemetery you will drive by to and from I-85. Confederate soldiers as well as post-Civil War veterans recognized; one grave even demarcates a Revolutionary War soldier. Easy driving to Clemson (loved the campus) and Greenville, SC, perhaps the best of the Greenvilles.

When we arrived, there was no one in the office, no way to get through the gate so we had to call the number again. And again get National thousand trails. After about a half hour a lady calls and tells us a site to pull into. Which was already taken!! She drove out, seemed frustrated, directed us to another site and took off. No apology. We’d received email and text confirmations immediately after our reservation so I’m sure she did to. Next we find the sewer opening was jammed tight with no way to open it so no full hook up. Then to top it off, we find one of our tow car straps had been removed during the night. We’d just pulled the car 500 miles and it was impossible that it could have just come off. It was purposefully removed. That could have been a disaster for not just us but many people on the interstate. I don’t understand why anyone would EVER pay the money to stay in one of the horrible ENCORE THOUSAND trails “resorts”. What a nightmare.

The sites are pull thru but it was just a tight drive up the road to get to it. Once we got in, we were able to get leveled, but it took a little effort. I did not remove too many stars for this because it is just how things are at the park and other positives of the park make up for it. Our site though drops off so much at the front that we are not even attempting to pull out forward. If we had a smaller rig or maybe a Class A it would not bother us as much - but we dont want to run the truck bed into the 5th wheel when pulling out.Laundry was really close to where we are located as well as some pretty good mini golf, an older playground and some nice other common areas. The kids really had a good time. We were very close to the pool as well, so if it was open, the location was wonderful. The common area buildings looked good as well and one had games and things in it - we just did not have the need to use it.Back parts of the park are not paved and they keep those just for long term stay, so no big deal. We wanted to do a lot of walking and the hills were good for exercise. If you are not wanting to get as much exercise, the hills might bother you and you may end up driving to the dumpsters when you need it.Overall, once you get into the spot, a good park and we would stay again for sure.
