James, the new owner, greeted us and was very pleasant to deal with.

There are two pull through sites and it looks like they have recently been graveled with large (2"-3") stones. Both were available when we got here on a Monday. The cg is full of trailers that are apparenetly used mostly on weekends as we've only seen a few people here. There is a pond.Verizon signal is strong. T-Mobile (FMCA hotspot) was very slow last night (1-2 mbps) but is better this morning (about 7 mbps). There is propane available here but James could not get it to work with our RV (2016 Itasca Navion). Apparently he needed a different adapter and I don't htink he's very experienced with the propane system. He'll learn. All in all a good overnight stop for a reasonable price.
Mostly permanent TT’s

Staying in State Park tonight so we can hike without driving.

This is a nice campground only a few miles from the heart of the Cooks Forest area. We had one of the few transient sites. Our grass site was very muddy due to rain prior to our arrival and during our stay. It was full of ruts even before we arrived and upon our departure we almost got stuck in the mud. Were it not for the poor condition of our site, I would rate this campground a little higher. The campground can't be faulted for rain but they are responsible for the condition of the site. Even with that in mind, we would stay here again when visiting the area.
