I brought both sets of my grandkids and they said it was one of the best times they ever had camping. There are many activities for the kids to do. There are two pools, an outdoor pool and an indoor pool with a hot tub. The liked the bouncy pillow and the mini golf too. The KOA is across the street from Fort Steven's which is a nice little day outing trip to the beach there. The have a little cafe near the outdoor pool which sold the usual stuff like burgers, ice cream and pizza. Campsite 206 had some shade from the trees the only issue I had with this site is that it's not level. Even though therr were lots of kids it was still a very relaxing experience. I will definitely be going back there again. Check-in was easy and I would definitely start making your reservations sometime in April if you want to camp during the summer months. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. J. Wright

We had made reservations at another park on the Washington side of the river, but when we showed up they were closed. Called this KOA and they were able to get us a spot after hours and were very accommodating. We stayed in the 100s section close to the entrance in a pull through site. As it was the off season, the campground was not yet busy. We could imagine the closer together sites may get crowded in the summer. When we stay here again we’d probably reserve a back in site on the edge of the campground as they had the most privacy. Typical in KOA Holiday fashion, they had plenty of amenities suitable for the whole family including the furry family members. Their Kamp K9 was very clean and had fun play equipment. Our son would have also loved to be able to play on the equipment but wasn’t able to due to the limited amount of time we were at the park. There is a breakfast spot right down the road that was delicious as well and very close to all Astoria/seaside have to offer.

The store is well stocked, plenty ice, firewood and they have a propane fill-up too. There is lots to do within the campground for kids and you are within walking/biking distance of Ft. Stevens State Park where you can get to the ocean/beach, jetty or lake. The park has a great walking and cycling trail. As far as the site goes, we have only stayed in the 100's section and would definitely want to be there again when we return. The 200's looked decent too. We've walked around the campground to look at other spots and the rest of the campground lacks privacy, especially the 300's where you are basically wide open next to everybody else. The 400's seem to have a trailer park theme going on...sites crammed like sardines. The 100's section where we have stayed has large pull through and back in full hookup spots with plenty of room for slideouts, awnings and access to a picnic table and firepit. The spots are shaded with trees and you get privacy with shrubs between you and your neighbors. Just be wary of all the kids running/biking around.

  • Great grounds, tight security, but very rude front desk and mini mart employees

Full hookups, clean general bathrooms/showers. There was a lot of security driving around. We do wish they could control the noisy neighbors playing music late at night.Front desk and mini mart staff, rude and uninterested. Had an unpleasant experience trying to purchase a couple of supplies and left disappointed.

The site widths are about average, you won't feel too squished.Have stayed several times with kids. Last trip was with grandparents too and they just grabbed a nice little cabin with a great fire ring that 10 of us could get around at the end of the day.Location is about 20-30 minutes from Cannon Beach (quaint shops and iconic haystacks on the beach) as well as about 15-20 minutes from Astoria. Lots of supermarkets in the area about 10 minutes into the nearest town.

There is a TON to do in the KOA itself, bouncy pads and rigamarole like that for youngsters. So if you're down for an expensive vacation in Warrenton, get 'we done! Across the street from Fort Stevens and maybe 25 minutes to Astoria, it's in a pretty ideal location. It's just one of those KOAs where I think, "seriously, $80?" For what? Id rather do Ft. Stevens in a hammock and freeze under the beauty of what this part of the nation has to offer than squirt around a KOA where I'm not even, as a full grown adult, allowed to jump on the bouncy pad. Actually, now that I think of it, there were no signs saying I couldn't...Also, I perfected the art of making a roof over a campfire, out of the campfire itself, here. Which is irrelevant, I agree.
