We had to drive a short distance to the lake. Medicine Park is just about 10 minute drive. We spent an afternoon there. Then we spent the next day at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Park. Our space had concrete pad, electricity water and sewer. We had a nice grassy area too that our dogs enjoyed. Many spaces look like they are permanent vacation homes because they have decks built next to the RV.

  • Great place to stay near the Wildlife Refuge

The campground is clean, maintained and quite. Very close to Meers, Medicine park Aquarium, the little strip by the river in Medicine park and the wildlife refuge. It has good views of the mountains and hills. Free wifi, which was not fast enough to watch much video. It did have cable with the site.

  • Gorgeous views, walking distance to lake and city park, lots on a slope

Our sight was clean, but had a decent slope to it, our jacks on one side of the vehicle were barely extended and on the other side, fully extended, along with our stairs. The slot was a combination of grass and gravel. The roads look like they were a recent addition of wide concrete with lots of speed bumps. The park was quiet, with a lot permanent residents (as evidenced by some pretty awesome porch set up!). An old house serves as the clubhouse with washing machines, a kitchen and living room set up. It felt like you were going to your grandmother's house. I did not see any shower facilities. The park has a small pool, which was closed in October. A short 5 minute walk will take you to a city of Lawton park with tent camping sites and access to the lake. Some sites had fire pits, but they were in different states of repair and construction. There were very few open slots and I would imagine during good weather they would book up quickly based on their access to the lake. We made reservations over the phone. They do have an online contact system, but at the time we reserved, it was not monitored.

We are new to RV-ing and enjoyed the visit to Granite Pointe. The park hosts (Jerry and Mary) were very friendly and helpful, as were residents in the park. View of Wichita mountains, Lake Lawtonka, and just short drive to refuge for mountain trails.
