If you don’t need bathrooms, this place is fine. No trees or privacy. We decided not to stay because of the bath houses. They had three. We looked at two, and each was one room with a toilet and open shower. They smelled like mold and had chipping paint. They did jot appear to have been cleaned in some time. Good things:Large campground, many sites open. Friendly helpful staff. Pretty entrance road and ok lake and large sites.Bad: Trash dumpster is huge and not emptied often, gross. 250k generator on all the time, loud noise. Gravel roads, dusty. “Grass” area not watered and sparse, no curbs. Ugly place.

We enjoy the natural beauty, friendly owners and the peace and quiet (although we normally staying here off-season, we have found the campground enjoyable in-season).We visited many area campgrounds before initially deciding to stay at Island Resort Campground and continue to return to this campground, year-after-year. The owners recently added some additional RV sites, the spacing and levelness of these new sites shows that they understand their business and customers (i.e., their new pull-through sites can fit the largest of RVs [length and height] and are very level).
