When you're looking for a site that is a stop for 1 or 2 nights on your way to the beach - then this place is great. It was clean, well maintained and easy to work with. I would (any may on the way home) stay here again to shorten the drive. It's no frills (and the mini golf is a long way from ever being open in my opinion) but it is exactly what I needed for a stopover and will stay here again if I need it.

  • So wonderful we stayed another night!

My kids and I spent 4 hours in it. And we had it all to ourselves. The next morning we decided to stay another night and enjoy the camp ground! We loved petting the donkeys, and spending all day at the pool again with no one there. Mini golf wasn’t open yet but looked awesome! Highly recommend this beauty!!

We are from California and very unfamiliar with North Carolina. We were caught in a terrible thunderstorm and could not find any campground along U.S. 64 Rocky Mount for our small RV. The campground was 25 miles south of our eastward route on U.S. 64, but the host family assured we could make it down 301. They waited for our arrival and made sure we were safely settled. It rained all night long, but we knew all campers in this small campground were looking after us.

The owners are gracious hosts and the other campers were friendly and stopped to say hi which as a solo RVer I appreciated. The ducks and donkeys were a nice treat. Cell service was good with 2-3 bars on at&t and Verizon. Park is well-maintained - there was always someone scooting around working on something. There was bit of a sewage smell sometimes but it didn’t really bother me. The campground also had wifi which worked great during the week but slowed down as people came in for the weekend. Sites were a bit close together with not much privacy. Even though 301 runs right by the campground there was little to no noise. Wilson is a nice little town. I recommend going to Lake Wilson for walks and Parker’s for BBQ. The rose garden and whirligigs are also good stops. What stands out most about this park was the hospitality of the hosts and the feeling of community. This is great place to spend a night or a few weeks.

We really enjoyed our week here!!My kids loved the ducks and the donkeys. The playground was old and un maintained but they found other things to keep them busy. The playground was old and un maintained but they found other things to keep them busy. Despite being right off the highway we didn't hear any of the traffic and felt pretty secluded! I'm pretty sure it was "off season" so the park wasn't super crowded. The site was perfectly level didn't need any risers and had an easy pull through spot! Couldn't get much simpler! The shower house was clean and well kept (though it had a musky smell, probably just from the older building and humidity, if the door had been kept propped it was fine)Our only negative experience was finding out my son was allergic to the cat roaming around ???? other than that it was a great experience.

They accommodated my stay. There is few seasonal sites in this small campground. The people at the site were extremely quiet. The hosts are super nice. Easy to find off Route 301 half mile from Route 42 E.15 minutes to big box stores and Walmart and most chain restaurants.Full hookups, pull through gravel sites. Each site has a cement pad with picnic table. Bathrooms, propane and laundry room onsite. This place is located right off route 301 so at night there is some big truck traffic. Train tracks are about 2 miles away, I could hear their horns at 10:00, 10:30 and 1050 PM ever night. Even though I could hear the trains and traffic it never kept me from falling asleep.
