Check the utility distance for the water/electric sites as extensions may be required. We arrived on a Saturday and the campground felt at least 90% full, if not 100%. No issues at all with noise or traffic, etc. Everyone was doing their own thing, sitting around campfires and so on. There are a number of long-term/perm/seasonal residents that were not at the campground much. By Sunday evening/Monday before checkout, it was down to 50% or less occupied and was awesome. Bathhouse was clean and smelled really good (weird observation) the whole time. Grass was cut & trimmed, pool was clean, really well-maintained. Cell service was more than sufficient. TV signal was strong from the Greensboro direction. As for the tubing adventure, we walked up the gravel road to the check in area with a small cooler (1/4 mile?). Roughly 30 people and tubes were taken on 2 small shuttle vans up river about 10-12 minutes. The county has a parking area w/ permanent steps that go down into the river. The two guides/drivers were really helpful and nice guys. The river float ends at a ramp at the rear of the campground. We walked out, put our tubes in the pile they pointed out, and walked a couple hundred yards into our site. I had underestimated the convenience. We will be looking to come back with a group of friends that want to tube; if not camp too.

Several full-time residents, but mostly for campers. We were in site 23, which was wooded, so we had no satellite coverage. It was 30A/FHU. OTA TV is pretty decent with an omni antenna. Campground WiFi reached 0.85 MB/s, but data rates seemed to vary greatly, and often dropped to zero. AT&T had 2 bars and 3.5 MB/s w/o a booster, 4 bars and 4.9 MB/s with it. There is a nice 1 mile loop trail around the property. Campground was about 2/3 full. They also put up Halloween decorations around the whole campground, complete with a grave yard by the bath house, a really nice touch.

They have a small store and a super Walmart, restaurants, gas stations are nearby. This will be a regular spot for us from now on. Bathhouses are clean.

I’d just like to say how much Nick (the owner) and Donna (employee) really make this place special. They go out of their way to help you even if you make a mistake (we were supposed to be at campsite 31 but accidentally set up at the wrong one (site 30). They are both warm and accommodating.
