There isn’t anything tricky about getting to the campground. Once in the campground it can be tight but just take your time and you’ll get through, big rigs of all sorts in there. The spaces are pretty tight but thankfully, everyone was really friendly so it wasn’t to bad. Had no issues with any of the hookups. We stayed in site 765, gravel pull through. Needed some good leveling. They have a nice sized clubhouse, restrooms are much cleaner there than the bathhouses. There is a pool, small, and a separate kiddie pool with one mushroom thing in it. You can fish, catch and release, didn’t fish so don’t know how good the fishing is.They have a pretty nice trail system. There are some waterfalls, another lake with a damn and some nice views. Some of the trails are pretty steep. We have Verizon. Where we were we had 2 bars and 4G LTE but it didn’t work well. They have wifi. We did use it, it was good enough, have 5mb download speed. Where we were sometimes we’d lose signal briefly but it would come back and work fine the majority of the time. Ate at the Dodge City Steakhouse just a couple minutes from the campground, very good. The staff we interacted with were very nice. You have to choose your site when you check in (not a fan of this), you can’t drive around and pick what you want like some other TT campgrounds allow. They may give you options, probably depends on the size of your rig. The first one we chose we didn’t like but they allowed us to change to another site, we didn’t set up, just pulled up to it and didn’t like it. Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed ourselves.

They have a lot of amenities to offer, some of witch need a little TLC (tender love and care), but plenty to do. With miles of hiking trails, large fishing ponds, putt putt, play ground, pools and more, there is plenty to do for all ages. The bath house at the back of the park wasn't the best but the one in the main common hall was really nice and well kept. The Common hall is a great meeting place available to all and boast a large laundry facility with plenty of washers and dryers to get your laundry and quickly. We also loved this parks location with quick easy access to a lot of local attractions in the area. We visited Asheville, DuPont Forrest, Hickory, Blowing Rock, and Blue Ridge Parkway while here. Blowing Rock was a short ride with a lot of locally owned and operated places to eat, drink, and shop. Cellular is 1 to 2 bars at best and Cellular internet is best achieved with a directional antenna, we still ended up paying for a month of the WiFi service since we work from our camper. Lastly, water pressure at this park is very high so make sure you have a regulator.... would prefer being high over it barely coming out though!

The park is a mixture of full time and transient campers. The check in was easy and the lady at the gate was very nice, however when you make a reservation you are not reserving a specific spot. At check in they show you the open spaces on a map and you pick one. When we asked if we could drive through the park to see the spaces, we were told no, had to pick before entry. She was able to tell us the size of the site, but not much else. So we picked one and we got lucky, our site was great. The majority of the sites have a concrete pad and a wood “deck”. Our site was 20 foot wide and 50 foot long, the RV pad took up 10 feet, plenty of room left over. In our opinion the best sites were 1 -104, sites were level, nicely spaced, good reception, shaded and recently paved access road. Plenty of amenities in the campground - swimming pool, splash pool, tennis and basketball court, mini-golf, catch-and-release fishing pond, hiking trails, and activity center. Multiple shower houses (the one by the pool was the best), laundry, and WiFi ($8 a day - didn’t use, no idea how good it was).

The only pull thrus are quite a distance from the entrance, and it is semi-challenging to get to because the roads are narrow if there is traffic in the opposite direction, there are sharp curves and its hard to see where the road goes as you approach crests. Not too hard to get to (about 30 mins from I-40) but you do need to make sure to read the directions they send you prior to arriving because it is easy to miss the turn. A lot of the back in spots could be difficult for inexperienced drivers, and some of the concrete pads looked very sketchy due to runoff eroding underneath them. Maybe the cell signal (referring to data only) is better nearer the road but at the top of the campground there was virtually no Verizon or ATT, and no Tmobile at all. Luckily if you are willing to pay, the campground wifi is decently fast (10 or 15 mb up/down depending on package), and was very reliable. There were a lot of long-termers in this section and some of them were very loud at all hours. The sites were average size. There was a problem with the water at one of the sites that took 3 days to fix, and they intermittently turned off everyone's water with no notice. There are some trails in the area but the one I took to get to a lake was ridiculously challenging. Not sure about the others.

It is a good size campground, and because of this, we opted to drive to the pool and bath house on most occasions (we have a toddler and a baby). Next time we might look to stay closer to the amenities, but we did love the tranquility of the loop we were in. We paid for an internet pass and enjoyed high speed internet all week. During the COVID-19 pandemic, only the bath house by the pools was open, and it is practically brand new. The bathrooms were some of the nicest bathrooms I have ever been in, and not just at a campground. A minor note: The showers were gorgeous, but they are not laid out well for shower stuff. There’s one tiny shelf outside both stalls, and there’s not a great way to protect your stuff from getting wet (probably talking to the girls more here) while you are showering. It would be great if they could add one shelf in the changing stall part of the shower stall. Many sites are occupied by annual members (which is a TT norm), but during the week, the campground was very peaceful and quiet. Beginning on Friday, the park definitely filled up with more people and RVs. We were at the park on the Friday when the statewide mask mandate went into effect. Although signs were clearly posted on the door to the bath house/laundry space, few people wore masks. With the influx of the weekend crowd, this was a little unnerving, but to each his own. We really enjoyed our stay and actually extended our trip from 4 to 6 nights. Conveniently located near Blowing Rock and Boone, and the town of Lenoir is very nearby. We will definitely be back!

Good water pressure at 55psi.When we arrived, the front office asked us what kind of site we would like. We said "a level site." They suggested we drive all the way back to the end of the campground. It's a very large campground. Takes nearly 8 minutes to drive from the front to rear at the posted speed limit as it winds around over a creek, up some pretty steep hills and around some corners. Not our favorite campground navigating with our 42ft 5th wheel, but we took it slow and didn't have any problems except for a small scrape in the road with our lower clearance bumper on a steep hill. The front of the campground is mostly asphalt roads and paved sites. The back of the campground is dirt/gravel. You can call it a "pull-through" site but it's basically a large, flat gravel lot. It rained the week before we arrived and most of the days we were there so it was a bit muddy. We ended up leaving a day early because we need internet. Kids use the internet for homeschool, we work every day, we stream entertainment. Cell reception was basically non-existent back in the campground. We had to drive 10 minutes out of the campground to the Walgreens on the main street before we had good enough internet to complete some video conference calls. The location works well enough as a homebase for visiting nearby hikes and driving the Blue Ridge Parkway or visiting towns like Blowing Rock, but we wouldn't come back to just camp and hang out around the campground.

While there were some big rigs there it still seems intimidating navigating a big rig through the park.If you need internet you might as well forget this place. While I was able to pick up 1-2 bars on my phone (Verizon), trying to connect to any websites was futile. Maybe if you hit refresh enough times you can get a site to load, but for all intents and purposes it's virtually unusable. Supposedly the park offers paid WiFi but I heard it's not much better. While this place was a little more out of the way than I prefer, if you truly just want to get away it's a nice campground.Note: when you're getting close to the park there's virtually no signage to guide you in. When you're on the last stretch of Dimmette Rd you'll see a sign that says "dead end". If you didn't know any better you might be hesitant to keep going but that's the correct way.

It's mid-June and in the morning when I open my rig it smells like a florist shop; I never found what the smell was but it was very nice. There were no evidence of stink bugs as someone else mentioned, probably the time of the year. Most sites have some wood structure, I had a pretty large deck with a picnic table, no fire ring. As usual the park needed some updates, not only were there a few boards on my deck that I had to walk around but after I was completely setup I realized, or my surge protector realized, that the power pole had reversed polarity and wouldn't connect. Lucky for me the space next to mine was "out of order" and I hooked up my extension cord! The roads are mostly blacktop but lots and lots of broken parts and pot holes. Sites are clean of debris and mostly concrete, not exactly flat but very close. Park has annual rentals that are scattered throughout the park but lots of spaces for daily or weekly stays. Spots farthest from the entrance (700s) are all in full sun, my space was shade most of the day but trees were not over my rig. I did not use the bath facilities at all so I can't comment on those. The lake was for fishing only but the entire park was covered with small flowing water areas with quaint wooden bridges. Lots of areas, some hilly, for walking. The pool was closed for repair during the exact 3 days I was there! There was a smaller kiddie-looking pool that had a mushroom waterfall that everyone was using. The clubhouse by the pool was not much more than a big room with laundry but there was free (unsecured) WiFi.The park offers a 3rd party WiFi service for $8 a day, otherwise the WiFi is only at the clubhouse and maybe the office. Cell service is horrible at best. Many times I got a "no service" on my phone. Once I setup my weboost and trucker antenna and was able to stream YouTube most of the time and make and receive calls and txt messages. The local area had everything you'd need within 10-15 minutes. Walmart, Lowes, gas, banks, Dollar Tree, auto parts and fast food galore.

I stayed in the fall when the temps were just starting to get cool. Be forewarned this is in prime stink bug territory. My reservation was for 21 days but I had to cancel and get the heck out. If you ever have been in a stink bug area you'll know what I mean. They get in no matter how you work against them. After one day catching over 100 inside the RV I got out of dodge.Lots and lots of trees so if you have/want satellite you'll need to be in section 700. It is a mile to the entrance (up and down hills through a winding very thin road). The "new" section is all gravel including the sites. There are some nice streams through the park and even some hiking trails. It was hard to try and get level with my motorhome. The lodge is closed and under construction. Lenoir is a short drive and has most of what you will need including a super Walmart. The stink bugs ruined my stay here but was also told they are a problem in the fall all the way through a hard frost so basically all winter. Was only able to get ATT service via a booster and antenna on the roof.

We love how beautiful and picturesque it is. We would love this campground even more if it had a business center with a strong internet connection. We ended up using Walmart's wi-fi while picking up supplies. Not ideal, but better than nothing. The bathrooms could also use some TLC, but they were clean and well stocked. Backing into spot #75 was beyond challenging, but we managed it on our own. A kind soul did offer to help but we need to learn. It's also a matter or pride.....lol. The other campers are friendly and even Fiona made a new friend. We would definitely camp here again and may do so in the near future!
