Last fall, we visited FHU campgrounds in the mountains of NC to choose where we wanted to book a month next summer. River Bend was clean and very nice. The website says they have gatherings which appealed to me. I asked the lady at the desk about it and she said those folks had been coming there for years and I got the strong impressio...moreLast fall, we visited FHU campgrounds in the mountains of NC to choose where we wanted to book a month next summer. River Bend was clean and very nice. The website says they have gatherings which appealed to me. I asked the lady at the desk about it and she said those folks had been coming there for years and I got the strong impression it was a closed group. She was not at all welcoming. We got the feeling we were wasting her time. The real killer was the pet policy. I understand cleaning up after my pets and I always do that. She said that dogs couldn't pee except on the other side of the creek and I would have to carry my 50 pound dog across a bridge to assure she didn't urinate. How bizarre is that? My husband and I left at that point feeling uneasy and baffled at her behavior. We wondered how one could run a business like that. In my opinion, this place is NOT the best NC RV resort for NC 2021.

Beautiful and clean facility. The bath house was closed due to COVID but we are self contained and did not need it. Social hour every night should you choose to go to it. The WiFi was strong and the spot was clean and level. The owners were super and everyone was friendly.

Great little campground. Owners are fantastic, sites are private, and as clean as a whistle. Bathrooms are as clean as I’ve ever seen. There’s a little social hour most evenings, which is a lot of fun.
