The 30 amp plug for our site did not work, so we had to get our dogbone out and use the 50 amp. Not that big a deal. Location is convenient by car to Kitty Hawk and the Outer Banks. This is not a walkable campground as the roads leading in are not pedestrian friendly. The showers and public bathrooms were not open and no reason was given.Prior to arriving, the owner emphasized that no pit bulls/rotweillers/aggressive dogs are not allowed, however, the first day we saw a couple walking two pitbulls around the campground.
One of our favorites

I'm pretty sure the traffic is heavy June through mid-September.This is a beautiful campground with great views and great location. We arrived Sunday after 2:00 pm. The office was closed but paperwork and instructions were handy and clear. The campground called a day or two before to notify us of this procedure. The sites are level, solid gravel with large grassy areas. The sites are huge and easily accessible back-ins. They appear to be well drained although it did not rain while we were here. Utilities are in good shape with FHU, cable and 50A. The laundry room has only two washers but a full laundromat is about 3 miles away. Grocery, dining, activities, fuel and stores are 3-5 miles. Walmart is 10 miles away in Kitty Hawk. Activities on-site are limited. There is a small playground and no pool. There is plenty to do nearby. The location is amazing. It is close enough to town that errands are not a chore. Miles of National Seashores, state parks, open beaches, wildlife areas, fabulous scenery and a wealth of activities are just a short drive away. Several miles of paved, off-street biking/walking/running paths a about 1-1/2 miles away with public parking at the town office. I would not recommend riding to the path due to the narrow roads on the island. We have recently taken up photography as a hobby. This is a target rich environment for photographers with a wealth of great photo locations. Lighthouses, seascapes, dunes, wildlife and people are all nearby. We will definitely be back. Probably in late October and early November of next year. We will stay for a couple of weeks. We had 2 to 4 bars of Verizon LTE, depending on the time of day. T-Mobile is 3 bars of 4G.

Beautiful beach about a mile away.No firepits. And my biggest issue was the bathrooms and showers were closed "due to co-vid."It's Sept 2021 - absolutely zero reason for bathrooms to still be closed some 18 months later....$70 a nite with no fire, no toilets and no showers(but hey that beautiful beach one mile down the street...? Has cold water outdoor rinsing showers, so could be an option if things get desperate....)
Very laid back RV park.

We were surprised to find this park so nice. The spots were spread out and the water views were awesome. There were deer in the evening.

Sites were well spaced, level and ours was one of 3 sites that had a water view out the back window. No WiFi or cable but we’re able to stream with AT&T. But the nightly fee seemed high for a campground that had no amenities other than a tiny outdoor laundry. If it was $20 a night cheaper I would have rated it 5 stars.

We stayed at site 19 for 7 days. The sites are fairly quiet, fairly nicely spaced, particularly for a private RV park. The sites are FHU with 50A service. The sites are all open, so satellite coverage is good, so as a result, we did not check OTA TV reception. Lots of open area to walk the dog and there were lots of other dogs here. Grounds are kept very clean and mowed. Very conveniently located near the Wright brothers' site.
Camp is dusty, gravel throughout.

Grassy areas between sites. The location is the best thing about it...near Wright Brothers park, and access to Cape Hatteras.

We stayed here while visiting family. Solid campground and mostly level lots. Does not have significant amenities but that is rarely high on our list. Spots nearest water are preferred.

Found this campground on Campendium, excellent location for our travel route there and halfway on NC12 for sightseeing N and S over 2 days. Campground was clean, well maintained, good amenities, full hookups, great views and tucked away a bit from main road. Dirt road off of paved road, a little pot holed, but nothing bad. Bathhouse clean and spacious; and, heater worked great - good with those strong ocean winds blowing through. Site level with small gravel fill. Nestled at rear of neighborhood of mostly commercial crabbers (all quiet during winter) but would have loved to have seen the ‘shedding’ operations in full force! Would definitely stay again if we head back that way.

Once inside the the campground the roads are well maintained and easy to navigate. In general, the campground’s facilities are really good. The owners of this campground obviously take pride in their facilities and keeping appearances up. The bath house was clean and good working order. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. This facility is a do over again for us.

We stayed here as it was the only one that had opened for the season. It was a good choice. The only caution I have is to be careful at the entrance into the campground. The entrance is a left turn, just before a blind corner on Collington Rd.It has great access to the Wright Brothers National Memorial.
